- Today we dive into American singer Michael Jackson. "Smooth Criminal" was the seventh single from his seventh album BAD (1987). The song would be a worldwide smash and become the sixth Top Ten single from the album BAD in the US !

My first year working at MTV, I volunteered to be a “seat filler” at the VMAs. 1995? What a blast for a small town girl from Idaho! I was lucky enough to be in the third row for MJ’s medley performance! It was about ten minutes long, included Slash and this leaning part. It was truly incredible!! Mind. Blown. It was the only time I ever saw him perform and I feel extremely lucky. 🍀 💔

Please do the full 9 minute version. Heck it even has a couple extra lines of lyrics not even in the album track. :O I wasn't even a Jackson fan when I was a kid in the 80s but seeing the full version of Smooth Criminal in the Moonwalker film on the big screen was pretty damn cool. :)

''Bad'' was my favorite Michael jackson album. Outside the so-so ''Another Part of Me'', a must. This album marked his first time who he started to distance of his radio-friendly sound of ''Off the Wall'' (very disco) and ''Thriller'' (who he was more pop then ''Off the Wall'') and wanted to have a aggressive edge. This album was very street oriented sound, and many songs of this album have this edge, like ''Smooth Criminal'', ''Dirty Diana'' or the title track, marked a huge difference of the sound of ''Thriller'' and ''Off the Wall''. The ballad ''Liberian Girl'' was at the time his most sensual song until he make a sexual song with ''In the Closet'' in the next album. He also the main songwriter of the whole album unlike ''Thriller'' and ''Off the Wall'' who he write just few songs in theses two albums.
Michael Jackson getting artisticly edgier and more raw, pure genius and legend. Seems like he kept that edgier sound from then on 😎

American singer is Beyonce or Elvis was or dont know Justin Timberlake. Michael Jackson was a creator an entertainer, songwriter,dancer, and one of the most trained singer of all time (his vocal range is 5 and a half! octaves). NOT THE SAME!
