I beg to differ, the dent side 70’s pickups were the best F series. This, called a bullnose. Is the best variant of the “OBS style” F series as they had the bullnose, this. Bricknose, and the aeronose (ugly) We have an aeronose but I’m looking for a bullnose. With a super rare 3 speed column mounted manual trans.
1986 f150 is beautifull man they dont make trucks like that no more! HOPE YOU BECOME NUMBER 1 MOST VIEWED IN THE CARS SECTION ! DAVIDSFARM USED TO BE THERE :[
@Stephen Sword Yes, they’re both good looking trucks. But I like the blue one better cause it’s in more pristine condition. I’d use the red one more for hauling things
I just bought an '83 barn find... body in great shape... 302 engine... low mileage.... needs new tires...hasn't been started in 10 years... will attempt to get 'er running next weekend...garaged since 2010...
lovely carburetors. That is why I like a clutch on a carbureted vehicle, it helps when you can hit the clutch and rev the engine a little to help it pick up gas.
Amazing the difference between the EFI and the Carb. gotta love the 85-86 Trucks with EFI. It appears the 81 has overdrive transmission because it says PRN(D)31 but the 86 appears to not have overdrive? Strange.
I had a 1981 Ford Escort when I was in High School it was a good little car it got me to school and back home just fine. I wanted a 1993 ford Ranger pickup at first but my mom and dad couldn't find one without having making payments on it so I ended up with the Escort☺☺☺☺
my dad would get mad if I kept cranking the starter by letting go of the gas pedal to let it idle higher. People were more patient back then, just sit in the truck and hold the pedal. I'd take that memory and that old truck over these new plastic trucks.
Kyle yours are the #76 most viewed channel today and you are second most viewed in the cars and other vehicles segment afore FLD and InsideLine and much more channel!!! Congratulations!!!!
It's shutting off because the choke is too far advanced for the temperature. When you press gas it open thottle and give more fuel to match choke and probably you idle idle screw is set to low.
@jmurray01 the only reason the 81 wasn't reliable was due to the fact that it was carburated big difference between that and fuel injection if u will notice the blue 86 stayed running
The '81 F100 took a lot longer to start this time considering it started right up when doing your in-depth tour on it. What was the outside temperature when you made this video? D'you remember?
my grandpa back before he died he had a 1978 F100 and it was a decent truck,... but then after he died it was left sitting undriven and now last I heard when my aunt sold it after my grandma died it wasn't running at all.
I like 1986 Ford was not aware fuel injection was available... It's my under standing fuel injection came later like 1989... Post a video of you driving the 1986 truck
Plug them in for ten minutes if it's below 0. They warm up great. Unless you have a 90's truck then if you need to plug it in above -20 there's something wrong with it.
on December last year I have been getting my grandpa's 85 Silverado to stay running in the cold weather but when it keeps dieing it was funny when it won't stay running and it stayed running and when I opened the hood it was still running
The 1980-1986 fords are the best trucks in the f-series history, and better than any Chevy or dodge
We had a 1980 F-150 Custom. I miss it.
5th gens better.
I beg to differ, the dent side 70’s pickups were the best F series.

The blue one is NICE!!!!!!!
brian versansky And it has a police searchlight too.

I just saved a 1996 olds aurora, Was sitting since 2011, cranked right up when I replaced the fuel pump haha
Good ole ford still livin
Patrick no

oldgreen100 and why can’t you do that with an auto?
@@Bajaheat there is no manually operated clutch in an automatic
MyStupidLaptop obviously...but the op is acting like you can’t rev up a automatic, park or neutral would be the same as pressing the clutch in
R/woosh
@studpuppy69 Not ALL Intrepids were equipped with the Sludge Producing 2.7L V6.
The 86 is beautiful!
I still like the first one thank you so much for making this video!
I like the 80s f150's body, the 90's f150 interior, and 2011 f150 drive train. Cool!!
Amazing the difference between the EFI and the Carb. gotta love the 85-86 Trucks with EFI.
It appears the 81 has overdrive transmission because it says PRN(D)31 but the 86 appears to not have overdrive? Strange.
I personally love the 1981 better than the '86 honestly.
Me too!
me 3!
I had a 1981 Ford Escort when I was in High School it was a good little car it got me to school and back home just fine. I wanted a 1993 ford Ranger pickup at first but my mom and dad couldn't find one without having making payments on it so I ended up with the Escort☺☺☺☺
wow that blue one!! Thats what people refer to a "Cream Puff".
my dad would get mad if I kept cranking the starter by letting go of the gas pedal to let it idle higher. People were more patient back then, just sit in the truck and hold the pedal. I'd take that memory and that old truck over these new plastic trucks.
wow just notice you got the deleted tachometer option!
Master pieces. Greatness.
That One In The Two Tone Paint Looks Good.
Kyle yours are the #76 most viewed channel today and you are second most viewed in the cars and other vehicles segment afore FLD and InsideLine and much more channel!!! Congratulations!!!!
I love that f100 custom. Is it still around?
I sure hope so. I hope someone eventually came and rescued it.
I think with a little tune up that 81 f100 will start and run just as quickly as that 86 f150
Great video as always Kyle! Those were from Monroe Motor Company, I remember.
Love the cold start vids!
I agree!
It's shutting off because the choke is too far advanced for the temperature. When you press gas it open thottle and give more fuel to match choke and probably you idle idle screw is set to low.
The 1981 Ford F100 needs some work. The 1986 Ford F150 is perfectly fine.
Amtrakfan2009 course it needs work it's a Ford. Other hand, of course it's fine it's a Ford!
Hey Kyle, i subbed! oh, and i thiink you should do a 1st gen cummins, or 2nd gen.. either one! That would be great!!!
Could you do a 1990 corvette.
I think on that first truck, seems like it had an issue with the choke which kept causing it to stall.
Have you done the subaru impreza?
Gonna burn up the starter on the 81. Prime then crank. Had a 83 f-100 4.9 inline 6. Prime 3 times and cranked over every time.
What did he get on gas mileage
@jmurray01 the only reason the 81 wasn't reliable was due to the fact that it was carburated big difference between that and fuel injection if u will notice the blue 86 stayed running
you finally got the first one hooray! and then it died lol
The '81 F100 took a lot longer to start this time considering it started right up when doing your in-depth tour on it. What was the outside temperature when you made this video? D'you remember?
I would buy the 81 just because it has overdrive
like your 1981 f100 my uncle had the same on but it was a standard
Hate to have that F100 in the winter, looks like a pain.
She needs TLC, still a dependable truck. It seems that it isn't used alot so that could be another reason why it was a little rough.
Where did you make the vid?
I want the brown one!!
Hazardflag02 il
Hazardflag02 to the gym today is my favorite part of the best of the year and the rest is the most recent update has been in a row
Dgt
Zanekennington
Was the first truck the same truck that had working A/C?
Kyle! You better be careful before the car breaks.
my grandpa back before he died he had a 1978 F100 and it was a decent truck,... but then after he died it was left sitting undriven and now last I heard when my aunt sold it after my grandma died it wasn't running at all.
the 86 is sweet and nice it will be a good old pickup truck
It is quite pretty and in good shape for its age
I like 1986 Ford was not aware fuel injection was available... It's my under standing fuel injection came later like 1989... Post a video of you driving the 1986 truck
Jason Cruz Became Optional in 85 Standard on some engines in 87 all engines had it in 88
its cold engine why the gaze
@saabkyle04 i enthusize in 1980 to 1997 ford f series trucks i appriciate these. can you please do a 1982 to 1986 f250 or f350 diesel?
was this at brandon reeves?
old ones are around, Speculation that ive heard is that they are bringing it back. Ford discontinued the Ford Ranger so who knows what will happen.
Where do you get all these cars from?
'81 probably needs a carb rebuild
did u guys just wholesale them
hey man, can you find an 88 f250 diesel? and maybe an 02' lightning! i subbed.
It's hilarious how you just smash that ice with your sleeve.
my grandpa has a 1980 Ford Custom F-250 with a 300 6 cyl. I have vids of it if u want to check them out
There's the F-100 pickup and the F-150 pickup from the once that I seen.
The 86 is sweet. How much?
can u start that van in the background
Granpa's Truck FTW!!!
I have a 1984 f150 explorer (302 automatic) and a1986 f150 straight 6 3 with I'd
What is the central gauge on the dash of the 1981 F100 ?
krugerblue it is where a tachometer if equipped, would be located.
What was the paint code for the blue 86?
Plug them in for ten minutes if it's below 0. They warm up great. Unless you have a 90's truck then if you need to plug it in above -20 there's something wrong with it.
Me gustan las dos camionetas; le hicieron competencia a la Chevrolet C10; saludos y buenas noches
on December last year I have been getting my grandpa's 85 Silverado to stay running in the cold weather but when it keeps dieing it was funny when it won't stay running and it stayed running and when I opened the hood it was still running
Adjust or put a manual choke on the 81... Might save a battery and a starter
That poor 1981 needs carb work. The 86 sounded great.
Are they 4 sale?
do a 1999 f150 xlt 4x4 big cab
@MrCarguy54 Dodge Intrepid? I think most are in the junk yard...Try there but most likely seized engines..
Hope to see more Ford, like the new Edge and Explorer.
Rip buzzer
How much for the 1986?
bad years, frames broke a lot on the early 80s. 84+ I think was fine.
my grandpa just sold his F-250 Custom for $600. it is a 1980
The '81 ford is almost identical to my '81, except mine is an f150, different paint, and in better condition. Other than that, same truck.
only the 80 and 81 models it was because ford decided to drill a bunch of holes in the frame to get it to be lighter
I bet if you rebuilt the carb on the 81 , n clean gas it would fire up better
how much 4 both?
PUMP IT
My pop has an 83 F-150
Can you find other cars tto attempt to start like that 2000 jeep with the blown engine and the nissan with the. blown engine
Fuel injection is better for winter time with a good battery
Ford trucks the only kind i will own.
shes cold thats 4 sure
You can almost depend on your Ford, hahaha!
I personally prefer the blue 1986
Ill take the 86 lol.
theres soem old tired trucks
The 1981 f100 has a flat tire
on the f100
less than a quarter tank of gas, metal gas tank, cold weather, water in gas
dang f100 dont keep revving it engine mite blow
How ironic the oldest one has a flat tire
le costo arrancar porque no le distes nada de calentador con el frio q hacia era dificil que arrancara rapido
super exhaust leak, LOL
I have a 70 f100
just clean the carb and jets . its not a EFI
Niiice!!
Maybe you should try to make diesel engines...I know that the USA does not have much but they have much more problems in winter... ;)
le ubieras dado mas calentador capas arrancaba mas rapido
Chevy trucks are the best trucks around
