As much as I love Amu and Ikuto I got to say there wasn’t a lot of pure going on when you realize she was 10 the first time they met and he was 14/15.

Lots of fanfiction for Amuto for more than a decade. They are practically my introduction to the pit of fanfiction abyss. Gahd, I miss the old days when I was binge reading AmuTo for months.

@@aerisms1506 at 14/15 Ikuto is going through puberty with all the side effects that come with that whereas Amu is still technically a child who is developing innocent crushes. "Pure" love is a little difficult to achieve when its participants are too out of synch in such a fundamental way but that's not a comment on age difference as much as a commentary on love itself. Even at 12 when the series end and she admits she loves him, she is still too young to be totally comfortable with Ikuto's behaviors. You can tell by the fact that Ikuto occasionally makes sexually leading comments that Amu doesn't fully understand who proceeds to get frustrated or embarassed with them and the lock and key symbolism is a little on the nose.

What I meant is, everyone can live a "pure" love, as long that the meaning of it, is technically an unconditionally love between two people ( a love without interest, jealousy and hatred ) .
And referring to the last part, Ikuto is aware of this, due the fact he waits for her to quickly grow up.
I do not say you’re wrong, what you said is understandable 😊
