That childhood message of getting attention and praise when I did something well and humiliated when I made a mistake 💯 This is exactly why I’m a 3. Also, parents calling me “lazy” when I did rest as a kid, makes it difficult to rest and not be constantly on the go.

As a 3, I do observe that I need to slow down and enjoy life. The problem is that when I recognize that, I make myself accomplish “all the things” for the day prior to that relaxation. Ugh. It’s exhausting.

I just realized my sister is a type 3 after your last video. I've always had a difficult relationship with her.
At 8:38 where you say "You have a hard time trusting that you'll be loved for who you are". I basically thought out loud "we don't KNOW who they are!"...a split second before you said "You might not even KNOW who you are!"
This has been one of the KEY factors in why our relationship has been so difficult. I often think of her as a "human doing" instead of a "human being", and let me tell you I have a lot of anger and frustration built up over a lifetime of her "steering" every situation out of this compulsion to "perfectly manage" everything. It crowds out the necessary space that others in her sphere NEED in order to offer their unique contributions...and for things to just unfold naturally. It's always "rush rush"...and I'm not saying it's always without a smile on her face (the exhaustion and resentment come later!) ....It's just that she's like a tornado coming to "sweep away" all the troubles, and everyone just sits back and thinks "Whoa...I'm no match for that, I guess I'll let that tornado do it's thing"....and so all of what these folks may have had to offer is eclipsed and just falls away.
I've also known there is a whole other side to this equation...namely, whatever it is that DRIVES this in her...which is, no doubt, some painful trauma.....but that doesn't erase the trail of chaos that comes out of it.
What I would like to drive home to all 3's out there:
    1. Even if it were true that you won't be loved for who you are....You can learn to love yourself (and as Whitney Houston so beautifully put it, that is "the greatest love of all".
    2. Please look around you at all of the people who ARE loved, and who are NOT "doing" and "accomplishing" literally 24/7.
    3. It's impossible for people to love you when they can't even FIND you behind all of that activity and accomplishment.
    Thank you Tom!
    Love your videos!

I grew up with a lot of 3s. I see how this relates to them. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for putting this up! 3w4 - started watching this while following along a LISS (low-intensity steady state) workout video side-by-side in another window. Helped me enjoy an otherwise SLOW workout.

As a 3, you target these videos for yourself because you want to improve your positive sides, but when you realize that you are stuck on the engine and can't stop this circulation. Oh...did it again.
