I have to say, THANK YOU for always sharing the new magic horse descriptions too! I love the stories Star Stable comes up with for these horses so much, and it's always such a joy to read them. Both of these horses have such a silly, heartworming story to go with them and I love it so, so much!
Objectively, both horses are well made with lots of detail and as a German, I definitely like the Lebkuchen horse since it does remind me of all the times when I’d eat Lebkuchen (gingerbread) as a child. I’m not sure if I’ll buy either, since I’m not really a fan of the Lippizaners in general and the shire isn’t quite my cup of tea. If they discount the other Christmas horses this year, I might just get one of the ones from last year instead.
I agree with the whole comment (German here too). The sso Lippi breed and the Shire coat aren't my cup of tea either. I prefer my Halloween shire over this. If they discount the others I'll try getting some old ones, too. Couldn't do that for Halloween since I already had all the old ones I wanted.
I agree I too am German just born and raised in America and Lebkuchen is just one of my favorite christmassy treats I will for sure be buying just Lebkuchen but I wish sso made it so you could keep the magic horses name I’ll probably name this one ginger or gingerbread if I can
Can't believe there's people actively shitting on these horses. I remember when the arabians came out with the pretty golden markings and everyone called them bland but in-game I saw nothing but praise. I see people saying they should have horns or antlers when Halloween JUST gave us that, I see people saying they're '2D and flat' not realizing that making a lot of 3D parts on the model would also have to work with the saddle and other gear and while they've shown it's possible, I think people forget these horses are often developed a LONG TIME before they're actually added to the game files and the Halloween horses were likely an experiment. They're not going to make all of them super ultra unique after one kinda succesful experiment, that stuff takes time (not to mention their mention of plans for other equippable gear, which would mean more retrofitting and issues if there's 3D parts on the model those things will clip into.) The SSO online community is so negative in a sense that most comments very clearly come from a place of ignorance because a lot of the players have no idea the amount of work that goes into not just making a functioning model but also making sure the cosmetic stuff fits. Then again this playerbase whines about reigns clipping through manes, it's never okay. It's a game, touch grass. And before anyone goes 'no u' at me, I've said nothing for years, and even tho this will probably fall on deaf ears I wanted to say it anyway. Nobody liked being in a community that can't be positive about anything ever.

Whoever came up with that pattern should be given a raise lmao, it's so cool! The mane and tail, well… It's giving pinkie pie realness… but it fits for sure! This is the first Christmas horse I've LOVED. The Shire is super cool but I'm unsure how I feel about it, I've never liked the Shire's mane but I adore how it's kinda a throwback to one of the OG Gens! I will say that the tiny lacework is BEAUTIFUL. Just wish that was more of a feature vs the harsh lines, however, the face is gorgeous! I think that it just got a little lost in translation around the shoulders. Would buy for the non-magic coat tho. Edit: I think the shire is definitely meant to be a Christmas ornament/bulb! Somemore texture detail on the non-gloss outside would have definitely sold it for me.

Puh, so difficult to decide which one to get, they have both so beautiful natural and magic coats. The detail that went into this is just amazing. I think these are maybe - besides this halloween horses- the most detailed coats we did get. They must have very talented artists.

This year magical horses are probably the best we had since 2020, the concept is simple and it makes 100% sense with the christmas theme, it reminds of me old SSO from 2014, when events were simple but had the true spirit and aesthetic of said event. Glad to see SSO is returning to their quirky origins ❤
Personally the gingerbread horse is my favorite of the 2 because it’s cute, and I love all the detail, I’ll buy both but the frost horse could of had more detail
@@MusicCometThe ginger bread horse is not over designed- it's meant to look like a Sweedish Dala horse, which is a traditional decoration. SSO is based in Sweeden and developed there, so this makes sense.

(To be fair, the person they‘re burning tried to eat them before.)
Lebkuchen is actually a German cookie ish cake thing more like gingerbread that’s basically what Lebkuchen is so I don’t think they based it off of the tale your talking about seeing how it’s gingerbread and Lebkuchen is basically German gingerbread cookies

These are such creative winter horse designs, I love all the little details! My only issue, is how to match tack and not cover the beautiful coats? We put on tack to help with stats/handling so its kinda needed. Im still totally getting that Frosty one!
At least to not cover the face, you could use a low-coverage bridle or that one skull mask that doesn't show up on non-JWH horses but still gives the stats

Its very rare I can play during the day since I have a 2 year old son, so its always dark by the time I can log on (and I rarely bother to mess with time of day in settings bc it reverts back to night every time I fast travel), so to have a horse with special nighttime effects will be really cool!
I promised myself I would only get the unicorn this year, and I'm sticking to it. But I think I have a crush on that gingerbread horse. I can't stop thinking about it lol
