“We are always one”......can’t even begin to tell you how much that hurts! Dude I get the emotional reaction to both the mv & the storybook performance. Just imagine living it live back in 2014! Admittedly SNSD was not my favorite gg but the emotions were real! Jessica (along with Tiffany) was such a big part of my long & winding decent into kpop back in 2011 that continues even today. I knew very little about kpop for awhile but really enjoyed some of the music & wanted to get more into it. At the time I was listening to mostly Wonder Girls, 2ne1 & T-ara. The SNSD concept & sound just wasn’t my thing. Enter (into my kpop world anyway) Jessica & Tiffany with their beautiful voices, unmistakable talent & yes, their exquisite visuals....AND THEY SPOKE ENGLISH!!! Keep in mind what little kpop content you could get online back then had no English subs to speak of. Then all of a sudden there are these 2 women ( I understand there were more than just these 2 at the time but again in my kpop bubble they were it) who I could understand & (somewhat) communicate with.....game changer! I’m telling you, it hurt so bad when Jess left SNSD but what really hurt was all the bullshit surrounding it. There are so many different stories, rumors & what have you but the bottom line was she was gone & no one knew for sure why. It was a bitter pill to swallow & I think what makes me hold on to some of that bitterness even today is the fact that SME & the girls don’t even acknowledge that Jessica was ever a part of the group....it’s like to them she never even existed! I know the rest of the girls had their marching orders from SM so it’s difficult to put much of the blame on them but SM just did her so dirty. Yes they had SuJu & Shinee but truth be told SNSD but SM, & kpop for that matter, on the international map & Jessica was a HUGE part of that! That SM, to this day, refuses to even acknowledge her is heartbreaking & shameful! I can’t begin to imagine how it must make her feel....having the company you helped so much turn its back on you! And don’t even get me started on my suspicions that a few of the girls not only wanted her gone but also may have even actively participated....@me all you want sones but it will be difficult to convince me otherwise. probably my favorite ballad to come out of SM shout out to the songwriting here, smart relative minor to major chord progressions, syncopated rhythms in the melody, the flat 6 before "we can be divine" is just really dramatic, beautiful chorus, verses leadup to the soaring bridge the girls also performed it well, they really captured the feel of the song and lyrics especially liked seohyun here, technically very sound, and she has a lot of color in her vocals that don't get recognized enough
Like I said before, I keep my tissue box with me. It still hit me hard seeing Divine, especially Sica's part "we're always one" and to see her cry when she sang that line. There's leaked footage of CMIYC with Sica (it's Japanese version), someone uploaded in YT (it's not official MV th-cam.com/video/UvLHvnIbyvo/w-d-xo.html, he/she include a bit of OT8 piece of video at the end part because the OT9 part with Sica is not really finished yet) Goodbye, my favorite song of them. Taengsic domination haha but honestly you can hear all of the others' voices really well in this song. We have the same bias in SNSD (Taengsic), it still pains me till today to see them perform without Sica, which is why I rarely see OT8 performances when they sang OT9 songs (I got used to seeing 9 and hearing 9 voices on their songs). Omo, DIVINE last mv wth J. One of the most heartbrkng moment in kpop is the departure of Jessica in SNSD , made me felt like sht wayback coz as we all knw theyre the biggest gg and pwerful tgether . Jessica’s departure broke me i actually cried at school with my friends at that time :( thankfully both jessica and ot8 survived everything and came out strong :) it really hurts that i don’t think the truth behind her departure would ever be revealed for as long as members of snsd ae signed to SM. Even though the chances of us seeing a full ot9 reunion are slim, there are still crumbs for example yuri just viewed an instagram fan edit of her and jess, she’s sneaky lol. I believe they are in good terms now despite all the rumours and speculations by fans and haters :(

What I love about Goodbye is that this is the first time we hear Hyoyeon's true voice, that husky tone that she had to hide all these years to perform SNSD songs. And like all the other SNSD songs, the harmonies are just amazing.

You should also watched the live version of divine from their tokyo dome concert. This is the last mv jess is part cause this song is really about jess leaving the group but the song message is that they are SNSD/GIRLS GENERATION no matter what that's why "we are always 1 and we can be divine". SNSD were so unaware that two weeks before Jessica’s departure they all signed a contract extension. SNSD had to perform in Shenzhen, China the night after Jessica’s departure too.
Divine was officially the last song for Jessica as a part of Girls’ Generation. She was supposed to be appeared in Catch Me If You Can as well but she got out of the group before the song and MV got released. There is a 9 members version MV of Catch Me If You Can that got leaked but officially that song is with 8 members they had to reshoot the MV without Jessica after she suddenly left the group😢. After the initial greenlight she got from corporate, however, someone changed their mind, but the ball was already rolling. That turned first into the intended "gentle" exit, then into the wrenching "we voted, you're out" moment of infamy.
@@xheralt is there any real evidence that she got voted out or kicked off the island apart from her own statement? I think the group members cant just kick someone out of the group. I do believe there is something to do with profits that SM can’t earn with B&E which then maybe the reason why she got to go out if she had to choose either the group or her business but I guess she wouldn’t ditch her already invested brand so that’s why she had no choice but to leave the group. I don’t think she wanted to leave but since she lost her interest to the group activities because she was busy with her business and had no time for the group is the real reason why everything happened. For the next reaction, i suggest that you react to Catch Me If You Can OT8 & OT9 version. So that you can get the whole experience of what we’ve been through as sones. So initially, CMIYC was planned to be released before Jessica left, you can see Jessica promotes #CatchGG, and also caught her signing “My Heart~” on her variety show “Jessica & Krystal.” However, the incident happened so they have to reshoot everything as OT8. However a few days later the OT9 version is somehow leaked but unfortunately it was chopped right a few seconds before the end. I remember how emotional that time was for me, it bothers me in my dream as well 😅. Even this Divine video was released online by a fan a few days after Jessica left. Imagine us having to watch this while still in shock knowing that she left the group. It’s real torture. It brokes my heart and it stayed as a question mark up until now 😅. I remember seeing the first fanmeet without Jessica, just one day after the departure news, and all the audience is shouting Jessica’s name, and the 8 members are crying, speechless leaving Jessica’s line empty. It was such an emotional moment for us sones. After this i would suggest you to start reacting to Jessica’s solo debut & activities alongside the OT8 reactions, so that it helps relieves the pain. _Jessica didn't want to go._ The statement you quote (assuming it is an accurate quote) was an afterthought, walking back her initial reaction because she was still under contract with SM and had to work with them (if only for a little while longer). What the hell has SNSD done since her departure that she absolutely could not have found time to participate? The hastened/abrupt exit following the notorious vote (before the fan event she "missed"!) was NOT the plan. Something pushed it forward. Personally, I suspect money became the issue. Somebody in management either went back on the agreement with Jessica that allowed her to initially proceed, or changed terms after the fact, after she was committed to follow through (or face stiff financial penalties from B&E's backers). Follow the money, its the ONLY factor that explains how and why things went down the way they did.

Shaun your emotional reaction took me back to the time jessica left and I felt like it was a lie for like 2 months just imagine I have been a fan since almost their debut and this suddenly happened to add to it jessica was one of my favorites and I cried for 2 months trying to believe and process what happened it was really painful believe me especially you know hearing from sources that she was kicked out just for a simple reason I am still mad at what happened until now

probably my favorite ballad to come out of SM
shout out to the songwriting here, smart relative minor to major chord progressions, syncopated rhythms in the melody, the flat 6 before "we can be divine" is just really dramatic, beautiful chorus, verses leadup to the soaring bridge
the girls also performed it well, they really captured the feel of the song and lyrics
especially liked seohyun here, technically very sound, and she has a lot of color in her vocals that don't get recognized enough
Like I said before, I keep my tissue box with me. It still hit me hard seeing Divine, especially Sica's part "we're always one" and to see her cry when she sang that line.

Goodbye, my favorite song of them. Taengsic domination haha but honestly you can hear all of the others' voices really well in this song.
We have the same bias in SNSD (Taengsic), it still pains me till today to see them perform without Sica, which is why I rarely see OT8 performances when they sang OT9 songs (I got used to seeing 9 and hearing 9 voices on their songs). I still support them as OT8 (listen to their albums after 2014) and I absolutely support Taeyeon and Jessica as soloists.

One of the most heartbrkng moment in kpop is the departure of Jessica in SNSD , made me felt like sht wayback coz as we all knw theyre the biggest gg and pwerful tgether . Jessica’s departure broke me i actually cried at school with my friends at that time :( thankfully both jessica and ot8 survived everything and came out strong :) it really hurts that i don’t think the truth behind her departure would ever be revealed for as long as members of snsd ae signed to SM. Even though the chances of us seeing a full ot9 reunion are slim, there are still crumbs for example yuri just viewed an instagram fan edit of her and jess, she’s sneaky lol. I believe they are in good terms now despite all the rumours and speculations by fans and haters :(

Sigh her tear always gets me during her line in Divine. I'm not trying to undermine your feelings or anything, but imagine how it felt after having Jess as your bias for 7 years then suddenly one day she's gone without any sort of warning. We didn't get any closure.
You should also watched the live version of divine from their tokyo dome concert. This is the last mv jess is part cause this song is really about jess leaving the group but the song message is that they are SNSD/GIRLS GENERATION no matter what that's why "we are always 1 and we can be divine". The live version were jess is not part of it makes it more emotional cause the girls emotions hit you.
SNSD were so unaware that two weeks before Jessica’s departure they all signed a contract extension.

Divine was officially the last song for Jessica as a part of Girls’ Generation. She was supposed to be appeared in Catch Me If You Can as well but she got out of the group before the song and MV got released. There is a 9 members version MV of Catch Me If You Can that got leaked but officially that song is with 8 members they had to reshoot the MV without Jessica after she suddenly left the group😢. I notice that you like Sunny’s voice in the lower range maybe you can check You Think out if you haven’t done it.
She didn't "suddenly leave". She was forced out, voted off the island. And even the original intended "post-CMIYC" exit wasn't what she wanted either. She thought she could do both B&E and SNSD. After the initial greenlight she got from corporate, however, someone changed their mind, but the ball was already rolling. That turned first into the intended "gentle" exit, then into the wrenching "we voted, you're out" moment of infamy.
@@xheralt is there any real evidence that she got voted out or kicked off the island apart from her own statement? I think the group members cant just kick someone out of the group. I do believe there is something to do with profits that SM can’t earn with B&E which then maybe the reason why she got to go out if she had to choose either the group or her business but I guess she wouldn’t ditch her already invested brand so that’s why she had no choice but to leave the group. I don’t think she wanted to leave but since she lost her interest to the group activities because she was busy with her business and had no time for the group is the real reason why everything happened. Ps. What I meant by suddenly left is that she was supposed to promote CMIYC with the group so I don’t think she wanted to leave already but there was a reason that she had to go out of the group

Until now, I'm still sad and very sorry why SM deleted this MV, if only SM didn't delete it and kept this MV on the SM entertainment channel, I'm sure this MV has watched a lot. Because indirectly this MV is Jessica's last official MV with SNSD, although literally the Catch Me If You Can MV was Jessica's last MV, but it was never officially uploaded anywhere until the video leaked.

So initially, CMIYC was planned to be released before Jessica left, you can see Jessica promotes #CatchGG, and also caught her signing “My Heart~” on her variety show “Jessica & Krystal.” However, the incident happened so they have to reshoot everything as OT8. However a few days later the OT9 version is somehow leaked but unfortunately it was chopped right a few seconds before the end. I remember how emotional that time was for me, it bothers me in my dream as well 😅.
Even this Divine video was released online by a fan a few days after Jessica left. Imagine us having to watch this while still in shock knowing that she left the group. It’s real torture. It brokes my heart and it stayed as a question mark up until now 😅. I remember seeing the first fanmeet without Jessica, just one day after the departure news, and all the audience is shouting Jessica’s name, and the 8 members are crying, speechless leaving Jessica’s line empty. It was such an emotional moment for us sones.
After this i would suggest you to start reacting to Jessica’s solo debut & activities alongside the OT8 reactions, so that it helps relieves the pain. I know how it felt to miss her so much in the group. Watching her successful solo activites helps though 😄 at least she’s happy now 😁

What the hell has SNSD done since her departure that she absolutely could not have found time to participate? The hastened/abrupt exit following the notorious vote (before the fan event she "missed"!) was NOT the plan. Something pushed it forward. Personally, I suspect money became the issue. Somebody in management either went back on the agreement with Jessica that allowed her to initially proceed, or changed terms after the fact, after she was committed to follow through (or face stiff financial penalties from B&E's backers). Follow the money, its the ONLY factor that explains how and why things went down the way they did.
