    I don't know why so many people hate on Djokovic…Why do people hate on any of those tennis players at all?? Whatever great tennis player we're dealing with, wether it is Nadal, Federer, Murray, Conners… They all have achieved something significant and in the end they're all classy players in their own way with great talent and lots of sportsmanship IMO. I think Tennis doesn't deserve haters… it's a beautiful sport to watch and I think it should remain that way. It's only those haters and extrem fanboys that draw a false picture IMO.

      @gazorpazordfieldii3084 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Andreas Hoppe I don't think it's so much Novak as it is their obnoxious fans. They know that Djokovic, as complete and skillful a player as he is, won't be able to reach 17 Grand Slams. So the hamster in their head starts spinning and they have to denigrate Federer's achievements in order for Djokovic to have an argument as GOAT (in their logic).
      I personally hope he can get to 14, at least, just so that he can bump down the terrible Roy Emerson down the All-Time Great list.

    • @gazorpazordfieldii3084
      @gazorpazordfieldii3084 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Djokovic at 28 has just crossed the 800 career matches mark, and of the all-time greats, the three most successful players from that point in their career were Sampras, Lendl, and Connors, who are all tied at 3 Slams after their win. Federer and Agassi are tied at 2 apiece. Djokovic will have to defy history and what we know of biology to match Nadal and Sampras, let alone exceed them.
      It's not impossible, but it is unlikely based on what we know of age dynamics of Open Era champions.

    • @imateapot51
      @imateapot51 10 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      I would get a new coach. I think Novak is a great player but he takes a lot of things for granted when he is trying to teach others how to be like himself. I teach tennis, but I grew up playing soccer and played NCAA Div 1 and semi pro. I was helping a tennis student that plays both tennis and soccer, with soccer. I taught him how to make a side of the foot pass but I never mentioned that he should make contact closer to the ankle for more power. I do this instinctively and have been for years. I saw a video and someone mentioned this and I realized I left something out when I taught him. I never leave things out in tennis as I learned that when I was an adult, not a little kid like a learned soccer. Sometimes very good players do not make very good teachers. The best way to evaluate a teacher is to look at his long term students and if he/her helped them develop into good players. Also, you could have the best teacher in the world, but if you do not go out and practice a lot you will not improve. It is a difficult sport. Novak's forehand technique for example is not even done by almost all woman pros. So you have to know which strokes you should learn. Ignore haters on the internet!

      Nguyetanh Tran He has had thousands of hours of coaching and drills to work on his skills. He is one of the pro players that I use as an example for my High School tennis team players when I coach. I was fortunate to have been well coached. I played USTA Tournament tennis for 20 years and have coached for another 20 years. You have to do the drills to build your skills. I like to coach by example so I often take part in the drills to show players how they should move or hit specific shots. It takes a lot of correct repartition and work to become a good player. You don’t do it in a couple of minutes.

    I agree with previous comments, on his suggestion to use more wrist during a forehand, not so great for beginners, but other than that, it was perfect. I can't wait to apply some of the new things I've picked up from this video into my game.

    Thanks for sharing. Love this video. Huge fan of Nole and I've always loved his game. After Pete Sampras retired I really didn't have a rooting interest because I was not willing to jump on the Fed Express or the Rafa bandwagon like most tennis fans. The two of them winning everything made men's tennis so boring and uneventful. So I started pulling for Nole when he seemed to be stuck at #3 because I knew he would eventually become the Fed and Rafa cryptonite. Go NOLE!!!!!

    • @youngmyth
      @youngmyth 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Interesting. You know Fed didn't just show up and win everything. If you're a tennis fan, you wouldn't love or not like the a player because of bandwagon jumpers, but instead because of the quality of the game they produce. And Fed produced quality in abundance I recall even way back in 2000 (albeit a lot more inconsistently). So, not that my opinion matters, but not buying your rationale for not liking Roger/Rafa but then liking Nole. If you like Nole, confess that love without the latter baggage.

    • @freddiecoleman7497
      @freddiecoleman7497 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      youngmyth Never said I didn't like Fed or Rafa. Love watching them play as any "tennis fan" would. So your "not buying" my rationale is moot from jump since I never used the words like or dislike. Simply didn't want to jump on the bandwagon. Read a little carefully next time.

    • @youngmyth
      @youngmyth 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Freddie Coleman Fair point, you didn't specifically say "disliked" and I think I see now that after Pete retired, perhaps because of habit, you were used to rooting for a certain player. I myself am like that. However, it must be said, there's a difference between bandwagon jumpers -- those who cheer on the champ only when he's winning -- and tennis fans, like you, who have been watching tennis for some time but still have specific interests. What I couldn't quite reconcile was why an interest in Rafa/Fed was equated to "bandwagon jumping" while a prior interest in Sampras or subsequent interest in Nole was equated to "rooting."
      After all, both Fed and Rafa didn't start out champions. They too were in the top-5 for some time before making the move up. I watched both their progressions, and I particularly liked their games just like I liked Nole's, Monfils', Gasquet's back then and as I like Thiem's, Coric's, Kokkinakis' today. This may just be my oddball fashion, but the fact that Nole now has a bandwagon of his own hasn't made me less willing to root for the guy. Hope that clears up my previous post a bit.

    • @freddiecoleman7497
      @freddiecoleman7497 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      youngmyth Touche!!! Maybe bandwagon was a poor choice of words. I guess I was an obsessed Sampras fan and to be honest I knew Federer would surpass his 14 grand slam titles with ease. I may have been envious that Pete's greatest of all time title would be short lived. Thus I had my reservations about Fed. But make no mistake, I appreciated the greatness of both players and what they have brought the game.

    It's funny how things change. I remember being told to quit flipping my wrist on my forehand ground stroke by my South American Davis Cup teachers (circa 1973). They threatened if I kept it up they were going to tape an Ice Pick to my wrist so I would get poked every time and stop using my wrist on forehands.

    THE BEST GUY AND TENNIS PLAYER EVER EXIST

  • @robertstar8517
    @robertstar8517 9 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    He is THE best returner the game has ever seen.
    Novak is unquestionably already an all-time great and for me what was even more amazing than his accomplishments - (which speak for themselves like holding No.1 for 3 of the last 4 years, 7 GS, over 20 Masters 1000, 4 times World Tour Finals champion and three consecutive wins, achieving probably the best year in tennis ever in 2011, first to achieve 5 Masters 1000's with only Nadal achieving this, only player to win AO 3 consecutive times etc etc the list goes on) - was that he achieved all this by having to go through none other than Nadal and Federer. Hence why he now has a pretty even head to head with BOTH of these players which no-one else has managed, and that is pure all-time greatness and so he deserves where he is.
    So for me when Djoko is on, I think he is even better than Nadal and Fed (as many pros have also said) proven also by the fact the he is the ONLY player with an even head to head against BOTH (not just one of them).
    Hence now we are watching an era with THREE ALL-TIME GREATS playing at the same time and whenever they meet, it usually means some greatest matches of all-time (like Nadal-Fed Wimby 2008, Djoko-Fed Wimby 2014, Nadal-Djoko AO 2012 etc). Lets not be too hasty to want to see up and coming players breaking the hold of the three all-time greats as this will not last much longer.
    As tennis fans, it really does not get better than this.

      3 years later, 14 grand slams, only player to have ALL 9 master's 1000s, has won 2 straight slams post injury, still winning record against federer, nadal, murray, etc, its amazing to consider what he's done and what hes still yet to do, whats to prevent him from winning another 5 or 6 grand slams, hoping for a long lasting career, itll be a sad day for tennis when he finally retires
