It feels like Starfinder was made for the type of mystical space opera sci-fi fantasy combo setting that Outlaw Star so perfectly represents. I'm hoping to pull off the iconic caster pistol-toting space outlaw style of Gene Starwind, or other similar classic 90s anime type of things. 😂

I am excited for this, but I'm a little concerned how much wordage is being put towards "this works with Pathfinder too!" I run and love Pathfinder, but i really want Starfinder to be its own things as much as possible. I'm not looking for Pathfinder feats when I buy a Starfinder book - I'm looking for Starfinder feats.
They're built on the same chassis, but Starfinder will very much be its own game! The team is going with "compatible, but not necessarily balanced" as a comparison (especially since so many ancestries in Starfinder have flight and other abilities).
@@PaizoInc That's super good to know! I've been worrying ever since the original playtest where Kasatha only "kinda" had four arms that uniqueness would be sacrificed on the altar of compatibility. I'd much rather have awesome quad wielding Kasatha than strict Pathfinder balance parity, you know? :)
I think the big draw is how much it'll flow the other way...when Starfinder Drops you'll have access to everything Pathfinder has immediately. Classes, ancestries, creatures--all fully compatible. That means as soon as it drops it'll have *Way More* support than the first edition did.
@@maxastro from what i can tell, you'll be able to bring pathfinder 2e content into starfinder 2e and vice versa with little difficulty like bringing inventor into starfinder 2e if you'd like to supplant mechanic

Outlaw Star is severely underrated.
I am sad that the mechanic is no longer a class. I hope that it is brought back one day in Starfinder e2.

For instance, Monster Core had way more Dominion of the Black critters than I would have expected...
