    Thank you for sharing this. It helps me out of a tight spot - my husband and son both asked for pens, and the ones I made don't actually work, so I need to redo them. If I do it this way, it will work better. 😅

    • @RedRockingBird
      @RedRockingBird  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The dip pens work best, someone mentioned air needing to get into the barrel for a regular pen, if so, we could insert something longer into the end of the pen tag Ty could then be removed once the resin is cured, best of luck, do a test one first and see what you think, thanks 😊

      Yes so many uses and definitely worth a try, the only thing I’d say is how much the extra weight of the thicker barrel would effect the way you work, but worth a try if you have some resin. Best of luck, happy crafting ❤️

    I really like the nib holders, but unless I’m missing something the nibs are permanently set in the resin, correct? The nibs won’t last forever and I hate the thought of the whole thing becoming useless after a while.

    • @RedRockingBird
      @RedRockingBird  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If able to cut the nib off (I’d use circular saw or hack saw) then the rest of the barrel can be reset once again in a straw and resin. I keep my bibs for ages upon ages so they’re still going strong and I love the look of them upright in a cute little pot 😊❤️

    Sarah where do i find a U V lamp like yours. I saw one on Amazon and it was 5.99 USD, but i dont know if its good enough. Is there a better brand maybe? Im getting the urge now to get the lamp and some resin. I have been watching your videos all night. Its now one in the morning. So goodnight. Thank you for all you teach.

      Thank you for watching, good to hear you are enjoying. Craft ones aren’t expensive and for people that don’t have one you can leave for a bit longer in sun light to cure, this is where I get most resin supplies from:
      amzn.to/3jzB9FO
      if you scroll half way down the page you’ll see a few. Although the cheap one you’ve seen would probably be ok, just make sure it’s got a long enough cable etc. Best of luck and enjoy 😊❤️

    Using pen insert and sealing the end will end up in pen not writing very fast :( air is needed to ink flow down. It is better to put sth in to remove later and have a little hole in the end of pen. But this is great - I am using same for epoxy resin and my diamond painting tools :) (or could be used for crochets)

      Exactly…air hole needed, thanks.
      Dip pens and other tools work great 👍😊❤️

    Can you change the nib if it breaks?

    • @RedRockingBird
      @RedRockingBird  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cut the end off, not too neatly, then put a small piece of straw in it’s place, tape it on and then refill with a new nib and resin 👍

    Ive wanted to make resin candles and never thought of using a straw! Since mine arent thick enough, I'll cut a pepsi bottle and tape that together.
    Edit: don't use a big bottle; it won't work. It won't curl tight enough

      Super, I hope it works out well for you, the milkshake shops often have the thicker straws if you’re ever near one 😁❤️
