The Imants RotoKnife is a versatile, effective linear aerator - The RotoKnife is designed to relieve surface compaction, improve aeration, reduce thatch build up and remove surface water. The RotoKnife is fast across the surface and is also a versatile rootzone management tool. The rotoshaft disc can be set in any of five positions offering flexibility in working depth and linear spacing, allowing deep slitting to a depth of 6" or shallow slitting at 2" spacing. The RotoKnife is an ideal rootzone enhancement tool for both warm and cool season grasses and can even be used as a surface smoothing roller.
Conventional soil aeration makes a fundamental mistake of being too localized in action. Hollow coring is local, deep spiking is local, conventional slitting is also local. These functions only effect the area immediately around the tine whereas the effect of both the Shockwave and RotoKnife is to install inter-communicating pathways through the rootzone linking all areas of the rootzone together. This allows the transfer of air and water to work at the optimum throughout the whole rootzone and allowing the uniform spread of the organic agents which can positively promote the healthy development of all the plants occupying the soil treated. The Imants Rotoknife and the Imants Shockwave are like Ying and Yang.
