Sharing the school supplies depends on the school. My kids go to an art focused school and they keep all their own supplies. The regular elementary schools share supplies. But they don't go through as much. Middle and highschool of course keep their own.

Yes, im sorry Josh and Priscilla both not from the US and they are both incorrect 😅
We do donate paper towels and assorted stuff for the school year, not back in my young kids days, but shortly after they both graduated. The schools have NO budgets anymore and most places around me have parents donate. My sister was a teacher and is currently a vice principal. First hand knowledge of the mess our education system is in.

I did an online course for vet tech here in the states. When i was considering job options, they said the certificate for that is pretty much unnecessary, but it does help them take you more seriously. May be different in other areas. I never ended up going into the field

They do share because some parents don't buy anything ,and expect other parents to pay for them.

I just pulled up the school supply list for my district, just looking at the grade school list. There's a ton of school supplies, plus (probably because these are little kids), they need a change of clothes and underwear, to keep at school. Interestingly, they're asked to supply headphones or ear buds. While some supplies will be shared, most are for the individual child.

Or go to Alaska. My brother in-law's ex was paid more starting as an elementary teacher (Alaska) than my father in-law was being paid at the end of his career as a highschool Spanish teacher.(lower 48)

Even in preschool parents were asked to donate items from paper towels to wipes to school supplies for kids whose families could not afford to buy. It’s sadly a matter of fact in the US that public schools are not always supplied as they should. If parents don’t help out, it falls on the teachers to bankrupt themselves to supply these items!

In my children’s school they all share supplies. They made the decision 3 years ago
