I used to work opposite MCD in Widnes and used to watch them drive the cars passed our site on Ditton Road. We also rallied against Geoff Fielding in the late 70’s, although on a different scale. He would turn up with a Gp 4 full works Escort and matching service barge, whilst we turned up with a Mk 2 with Transit Front leaf springs modified to fit the Rear of the car. Yes, leaf springs for rallying!
Howard I just love your Yn y Garej posts. I have one contraversial question about the Roger Clark car. If it's been reshelled doesn't that make it a "Triggers Broom" of a car?
Brilliant as always Howard. I’ve met you a couple of times at the rally forum in Whitchurch and you also interviewed a lot of the rally crews on the Cambrian rally stood under the tailgate of my taxi at the end of Llyn Elsi stage quite a while back.
I'm coming back to the UK next year to do an event out of Llandudno, so while I'm home in Aberystwyth, I might have a drive to Builth and check out those beautiful cars!
POO nice reg, but we were in Withers, when he was breaking the original for parts, he told us the engine was sold to Austrailia and the shell sold but he reconed the shell was knackered!!

POO 505R is a very, very nice and authentic build car, but I doubt there is a single part
that was on the car in 1976 on the RAC rally.
