    this was very useful. I think being able to see it from the 1st person view really helpful. you should totally keep doing this with other tricks.👍

    These videos are super useful I actually hit an Ollie today still trying to perfect it, the foot positioning and staying on the balls of your feet is where I mess up so I’m glad you went over it. Thanks again man :)

    It's important to rmember to push down with your leg but the pop is actually snapped with your toe (similar to how you'd pop your board into your hand). I see this step skipped in most tutorials. Even though I can do most intermediate flip tricks I love the idea of POV videos. It actually helps with timing and muscle memory.

    • @seanbrownskating

      Think I mentioned the toe part at 4:54 but definitely right on the leg step!

    Amazing video If you're still struggling to ollie, try thinking of it as a maneuver instead of you jumping. raise the knees and kick all in a fluid motion. if regular lift left knee up first as you kick down your right leg simultaneously , once you hear that pop instantly raise right knee as you kick and slide your left foot to level out the board. hope this helps.

    I like the POV. Very helpful. Could use some advice on balance. I have a tough time keeping my balance when squatting to Ollie. Is there a focus on leaning at all? Shoulders or head position?

    • @seanbrownskating
      @seanbrownskating  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say for balance you want to stand up as straight as you can without leaning too far one way. And if anything, maybe lean a little forward. Leaning back won't really help. Just takes some time to get the balance down as you get more comfortable

    Are soft wheels good for tricks? Where i live the concrete is very bad and i need some bones atf 56mm or Oj hot juice 60mm. I just want to learn ollie, shuv its and eventually kickflip and mostly cruise around.

    I would add that at the moment you pop, your back foot should NOT touch the board, otherwise you pinch the board to the ground, making it impossible for the board to fly up in the air

    • @bleakcandour
      @bleakcandour ปีที่แล้ว

      That back foot leaving the ground is something beginner skaters have to confront. Aka actually JUMP

    hers a tip for people just learning how to ollie, you should practice a lot, but dont overdo it. you'll just end up getting frustrated and unmotivated. make sure to try tricks that dont need ollies like shuvits and manuals!

    My only issue is I can't exactly get the back wheels off the ground even though I'm stepping on the back as hard as I can and trying to jump with the board and either I can't get the back off the ground, or I barely get the front wheels off the ground. I'm brand new to trying this trick and I've been trying to hit it for a while pls help

    • @seanbrownskating
      @seanbrownskating  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm. That may be happening because you might be shifting your whole weight forward or jumping forward as you ollie. Maybe try leaning towards the tail a little more and practice the sliding motion so it doesn't go too far over the board. It'll really just take some time and practice to fix

    I'd also like to add a quick tip. Make sure you're shoulders line up with the board. For a long time I'd Ollie and kept landing sketchy. and didn't know why. My landings were horrible! Make sure you're shoulders line up with the nose and tail. It might even take some getting used to.....

    I'm now landing on the nose and sometimes my front foot just slides off. Help me someone 😭

    • @seanbrownskating
      @seanbrownskating  ปีที่แล้ว

      My only guess for that would be that you might be leaning too far forward over the nose. Either that or you might be jumping towards the nose. Try to put an emphasis on standing straight up and jumping straight up (you can also try leaning back towards the tail to overcompensate)
