Oh Tammy....why am I feeling so whistful watching this tour of your home? I feel I almost like I lived there watching you do so many videos from those various locations...and listening to your stories as I saw the driveway or pool...ah. ,..modeling on your staircase...and that won't come again. Your home here is one of the most beautiful homes I have ever seen. Big but not so big you feel homeless...and all those windows. This is a artists' house.The sunroom and that tile...omg. I love your kitchen cabinets!!! I can't help but wonder how you feel? My guess would be half relieved it's over and half whistful? LOL...I assume a lot! I once lived in a beautiful mini-mansion with my husband Bill. It was beautiful and I learned a house is not a home without love...and I know you have that is spades with your Lou. Your home is lovely, and I'm sure you have worked very hard your whole life for everything you have, but I just can't help but comment on your multiple statements about how businesses can't find people to work "because they make more on unemployment than they do working". If you know anything about unemployment payments, you know that they are not enough to live on. That means the pay that employers are offering for these jobs is even LESS! I want to say that somebody who is giving a You Tube tour their 5000 square foot mansion on 5 Acres of property may not understand that, but I don't know you and that would just be shity on my part as you may very well be a kind-hearted person who understands the plight of the majority of people in this country who have to work for minimum wage or even less, pay taxes on that pittance, and live hand-to-mouth while others who have millions, or even billions of dollars, pay little or nothing in taxes, never have to worry about money, if they have a roof over their head, or where their next meal is coming from. A little self-awareness goes a long way...just saying.

Obviously, I agree totally. Also those same people have a right not to expose themselves to covid. Just because they're working outside doesn't mean they're at less risk. I don't judge them it's bad luck to judge people for their decisions or look down on them. Karma
I own a landscape Company and your statement is false.
@@l.s.7053 I'm from south texas so here it's even different. Most are undocumented workers making a cash wage. Of course they are still working and we're building a big beautiful wall to make sure they can't get away👍because believe me when I tell you, no one else is working outside in 100 degree heat and 100% humidity.
Wow. Angry much!?! My family immigrated here as Quakers on the the ship called the 'Welcome' with Williams Penn in 1690. We were not legal just looking for a better life. We are all part of the human race and migration has been a human experience from the beginning. Perhaps just a little opening of our heart to find out their human stories and see if we can help. We are just different people viewing a humanitarian crisis through different lenses and that's ok. My life is helping people and hearing their stories. I’m sure the workers were afraid of getting covid. They most likely got some kind of unemployment, but it’s not easy just living off that. I’m sure Tammy you can’t relate. Please be kind.
Miriam, Or perhaps she has some insight that you might not have. My husband and I own 2 business in the construction industry and know many other business owners who are also experiencing a labor shortage. We live in a state that shortened the quarantine mandates and people are out in droves. They are out shopping, going to the movies, and the bars, but they are not out working. We know people who are in management in retail businesses and restaurant businesses. Both have said that people will respond to employment ads, agree to an interview, and then never show. One said that they even scheduled 20 interviews on a single day and only 2 people showed up. Your comment was judgmental, and I think perhaps maybe you can’t relate.
Nobody I know has any trouble finding a yard service. They are the hardest working people I know. Your comment is offensive, and you show your true colors. Maybe you should try another service.
I love what you said at the end. It’s not cliche, it’s true! When you are with the people/ones that you love; it really doesn’t matter about the house that surrounds you. One of the things I love about you. You seem to always keep things in the right perspective and your priorities in the right place.

A little presumptuous with the statement that people won't work because of income from the government! Obviously you've never been on unemployment or such a statement would not have been stated. If your landscaper and pool company paid their employees a living wage maybe they wouldn't have the problem. Your home was lovely, I'm sure you will miss the vastness but you will fit right in the Florida elite.
It’s a nationwide problem that farmers markets, restaurants, and many industries are unable to find people to hire. Many people have stayed they are making more money off unemployment than they were working, so they don’t feel an incentive to go back to work. Yes I know many managers and higher ups are terrible and don’t get the struggle, but it’s a national statistic and fact that paying people more money to stay home doesn’t incentivize them to find work. Sorry if that’s offensive but it’s also a fact right now.
I live in Florida and so many people that I know that are unemployed do not want to go to work because of what the government is giving them. That is a fact. I know that is not everyone, but there are so many jobs here. Presumptuous of you to know what the landscaper was paying his employees.
BTW, I have been on unemployment and can make the same statement.

How about your lawn maintenance company pay a living wage. If a business cannot pay a living wage they should'nt be in business. FDR said this. People should'nt have to work three jobs to pay rent. People are not inherently lazy. People want to work. They also want a life.

Your home is beautiful and I can tell that it was well cared for. I'm sure that you won't miss the freezing cold winters. I sold my home last year after 34 years living there and raising two children, I learned that as hard as it was leaving my home, I got to take all those memories with me in my heart. I lost my husband 2 years ago and as difficult as it was finishing packing I knew that I was leaving an almost brand new house for the new owners. The best part is that I returned to the house I grew up in after my parents passed. I have followed you for many years and have learned so much from you and have such as admiration for you. The new owners will love living in your home and will make many memories in a home where there was much love. Besos lovely Tammy.

Well that was fun Tammy...I'm in the throws of a move right now. We purchased a new home and close Monday...and physically move on Friday. Had planned on not selling the condo until we were settled in and had the time to deal with it but as you know when the market is hot you just go with it. Had an offer that we couldn't refuse (4 actually) and we close on it on the 22nd! Packing is not fun as you know. Lots of purging! We had sold our Arkansas home furnished which made that move easy - this one not so much. Safe travels and we'll see you back in Florida. xo patti

Such a pretty home and lovingly taken care of. I have gone through homes in the past saying “goodbye” with last looks, and it is the memories that makes it hurt a little. You are right though, it’s the people, not the home. I wish we had some of those magnificent trees that you have surrounding the house here in Texas. Your landscape is so beautiful. This is a huge intricate house, that was only to fit a particular person's taste. Did I hear you say you do not use a maid service? If that was true in this home you must have been one busy homemaker! I am so happy you are happy with the 2 residences you presently have and wish you all the happiness in the world.

You're reading into what I said...go back and listen, I was repeating what my landscaper and pool person told me the reason why they couldn't complete their contracts this year..because THEY couldn't find people to work ......I did not say or give an opinion on people working or not...YOU have no idea what my opinion of that is from this or any other video I have done...So I guess you heard me wrong and then judged me...Make sure to tell your children to really listen as well. Hi Tammy I discoved you for the first time when you colored your hair. That became my shade too and enjoyed it very much, then the unthinkable happened, it melted over other pieces and overlapped and I have lots of breakage; like you, I like my hair long. Now I have a chin length bob.....it's going to take a long time to grow out; I have decided not to color it again (I hope), as for this wonderful tour, I can only imagine what it looked like furnished. I totally agree with you, my home is where my husband and pups are. Your home reminds me of the house we sold when we moved to Montana many years ago. Also, we now know that even if you arei inoculated, you can still spread Covid-19. The extended benefits are temporary. Know of what you speak. @@godsgirl0019 I'm not looking forward to the humidity. I grew up in Ft. Lauderdale area, but I left when I was 19. Naples is very republican( and we're a same sex couple) so not looking forward to that either. However, FL doesn't tax pension and my wife is retiring from LAPD.

I got a little teary watching this as I’m embarking on much the same life journey myself. I’m just not convinced that a native hardcore NYer ( my Italian family came through Ellis island and lived in Brooklyn and Queens before my dad bought our home on LI) is ready to put roots down permanently in California. Love the house 💕. I think at certain points in our lives we need change; for so many it's moving from the North to the South like Florida. However being from Florida and having lived on a lake, on 5 ac, 5,000 sq ft home, I would have absolutely traded houses just to be in NY. It's just about the change of environment. Florida shouldn't be the goal for everyone, by no means is it perfect, but everyone can make a change in their life. Thanks so much for sharing ☺️ ❤️. Ps... I've read that was happening (people making more on unemployment). I feel compelled to give a shout-out to our southern CA gardening professionals for continuing to work hard. They can be seen working each day. CA is verrrry expensive so they are definitely earning more going to work. Let's give them a bonus here and there whenever financially possible ;)

@@sunshinefl6586 Being English it came as a real shock. In England light fittings, bedroom furniture, carpets & curtains are all negotiable but, legally, you have to leave electric’s safe! We found to our cost german’s only leave you the dust, we moved in to find bare, live electric wires, no kitchen cupboards, no sinks, we were washing the dishes in the bath for the first 8 weeks until the kitchen could be fitted. We know now but it was a real shock at first, it is interesting how things vary around the world. 💐💐
In Oregon and Washington ( I believe ) anything attached to walls, being curtain rods, shelving etc. cannot be removed.
Beautiful house and land.... but can't imagine the upkeep involved
