For podcasting I recommend using a dynamic microphone as it will reject a lot of room sound and background noise. The most important part is to make sure you are as close as you can comfortably be. Using a pop filter can help reduce sibilance and plosives as well.

Apart from your photography, I'm liking the washed out texture of the the video recording. I guess it's the quality of the sun etc... Those pastel colour pallets are crazy rich.
Thank you 🙏🏻 yes the sun does kind of bleach everything in that way which I really enjoy especially on the white buildings. My partner and I are still working out how to video and what’s best to use. He used a vintage lens on a newer body for this video but unfortunately there was dust appearing when we looked at the footage at home. The iPhone is actually really good for filming and obviously very convenient. We are lusting after the Fuji X-T4 for videoing purposes but we don’t have the money for that right now haha 😂

@@filmic1 hello 👋🏻 I am using a UV filter on the lens so that helps a little…I do have a variable ND filter that came with the F80 in the big kit I bought it in years ago but I haven’t used it before. People have suggested Polarising filters to me before but I like the look of the harsh sun ☀️ and the highlights and I mostly shoot on f16 or even higher sometimes and that helps.
I know it’s hard these days for anyone’s photography to really look “different” from any other persons but I find part of my style is shooting in midday harsh sunlight, I like the look I get from that.

Its a fine line between palm and building lots of each .Great job you are very watchable in a very natural way .Loving the inro and outro music if that's a word talent behind the scenes .

Yes they would! I have a roll of cinestill 50d that I think would look great in these sunny locations so I might get my partner to shoot half of it as portraits of me and then I’ll shoot the other half in my style. I struggle taking photos of people…hey thanks for watching and commenting glad we found each other’s channels!! 😊🎞🙏🏻
@@LucyLumen That would be cool! You'd be mixing in some portraits with location shots and they might actually complement each other! I love taking portraits but I'm constantly trying to improve my directing skills, it's not easy 😂 And yes, it's nice to engage in conversation with the photography community! Keep up the great work!
Awesome results! I'm a fan of ColorPlus as a colour film (and I don't shoot a lot of colour film). Also shooting the F80 takes me back, as it was my introduction to the Nikon AF system, I still have one lens from my original F80 kit, the 35mm f/2D.

Stuff like this makes me want to get back into film photography (and developing at home), especially in that wonderful bleaching light you get on goldie and sunshine coasts at this time of year.
In the meantime I'm shooting Fuji with their excellent built-in film simulations, but it's not quite the same as that tactile experience that film gives you.

@@LucyLumen Is your partner doing the video work using it by any chance? I'm enjoying the colour grading on them too - particularly on the Pro Image 100 video. It felt very film-like.
@@erratic100 yes he is doing all the video work I’m so lucky! He also makes all the music himself too. You are so spot on haha yes we used it in the Kodak pro image video, but we haven’t used it since though as it doesn’t have an external mic input, which it makes it tricky. My partner has a colour grade preset he made for the videos to try and make it look more film like. Videoing is a steep learning curve and then editing as well so we haven’t found the exact style we want yet but getting there.

I have been wanting to get into video too, after a lifetime shooting stills and have traded my x100f for a 2018 ‘vintage’ X-H1, and sold my old Nikon D7100 to buy a prime lens or two. The XT4 is lovely, but a bit pricy and overkill considering my skill level :)
I got an F80 today at the flea market for 20€. Really excited to use it

@@ephraimchama4756 that’s awesome you are studying photography, are you learning darkroom stuff too? My dream camera haha….I have just got a Mamiya 645 for a really good price and that was on my list! I really want the contax TVS 3 or the Nikon 35TI but they are both quite expensive and I do have a few point and shoots that I really love already. I would also love to own one of the more compact medium format cameras like the Fuji GA645 or the Mamiya 7 but I’m only just getting into medium format now so see how I like it first.

I think I remember seeing a pack of 10 for $72 on some film store called Walkens, which would seem like a really good deal! I figure no one would run out of shots with that many lol.

Do you have any issues with N80 like sticky rubber or door latches broken anything?
Hey 👋🏻 thanks for watching! Yes I have just recently had an issue with the battery door and had to masking tape it down to keep it closed. I have heard other people having that issue with it as well. Otherwise it’s fine and doesn’t pose any other problems. Are you in the market for one? 🎞📸❤️

Also an f4 but they are more expensive I think. I’m a Nikon fan for sure but I love my canon auto boy Tele it’s so easy to use.

It is N80 in America but F80 everywhere I think. Just different names same camera though!
