It's a shame that they only book the new generation on the festivals nowadays. Im blessed that i have witness this man's skills live since the 90's on Awakenings several times. The most fluently talented DJ on the planet, the transitions between the different bits of music he uses is fantastic and then you add his creativity to it and its just beautiful
@@LukezyM He does have super fast transitions but the way he does it is so cheeky and well crafted there's nothing like it, best Techno DJ I've ever heard most probably I do get what you mean about today's transitions though they're just not the same are they, a lot are like a Pub/Bar DJ switching to the next Karaoke track

Personally i like the style of Dave Clarke, his technique, his abrupt mixes like he doesn't care, his way of creating contrast, his imagination and how he manipulates the tools around him like no one has ever thought of doing, sometimes even his sloppiness is cool

You should have seen his T in the Park set (I want to say around 8 years ago?? I've been to so many it's difficult to differentiate) - the crowd were going insane - one of the best sets I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot.

Absolutely love Dave Clarke had the pleasure of seeing him a few times in the now sadly closed Arches in Glasgow and once on my birthday , tried hard to pull of some of his tricks on the decks myself but he just makes it look effortless.
Hes similing and is a totaly conscious guy !! On decks is tottally concentrate on his work and of course his great frenetic and oustanding taste and passiin of music !!

I completely understand the creativity side of things, I would be hard pressed to do the visuals I create without digital, although my main source of material I use I created 30 years ago through analogue. With DJ’ing there are many aspects where vinyl records exemplify the skill of the artist. You could say to me that I’m being nostalgic but it’s more than that - there is a warmth to the sound of vinyl records, to me cd’s/mp3 sound cold and clinical. There’s the visual side of things, for example a Dj holding up a particular 12” for the crowd to see, not quite the same if they were to hold up a memory stick…. A lot more effort goes into playing vinyl, the sourcing of the material the lugging of record boxes around, yep I know these seem as disadvantages but it shows a level of commitment. When Dave Clarke did his notable spin backs in the past there was an ‘edge’ to it. Music, when it is played via vinyl records, has a groove to it : )

I missed some big headline acts at T in the Park over the years to always go see Dave, I never regretted it once.
This man has something that many DJs these days simple don’t and will never have…Style and Delivery!
And fluidity! He doesn’t rush transitions like new djs do. You can dance to this shit for hours and get lost in it.
