BlackVulcan22 I went an entire year without needing to replace the thumb sticks modules on my Astro C40. The thumb sticks are my only complaint, too loose. But I recently found out about the Battle Beaver thumb sticks and ordered the increased tension. I can’t wait to install and try them out.

I have the original scuff since launch day. I did get replacement that day as the 1st out of the box had major issues (replaced on launch day) since I learned how to recalibrate drift. To fix drift issues Thumbstick Recalibration Step 1: Turn off the PlayStation 4 console and controller. Please make sure the console is completely off and not it rest or standby mode. Step 2: Press the thumbsticks in and hold for 30 seconds. Do not apply too much pressure, just enough so that they click in place. Step 3: After 30 seconds have elapsed, release and rotate the thumbsticks clockwise followed by counterclockwise at least five complete circles each. Step 4: Gently press and hold the thumbsticks for an additional 30 seconds to make sure they are firmly secured. But literally I have had to replace thumb sticks as used so much they deformed lol

I love my c40 and battle beaver high tension module with raised deep dish stick. I play on linear and high sensitivity and the slightest movement moves the dot in the reticle. complete control over your aim.
I have the Battle Beaver increased tension on my C40 too, because I felt the stock sticks were just too damn loose. They felt a bit looser than the stock controller and the V2 and I just wasn't feeling it. Personal preference, for sure, but with the BB increased tension, the C40 is very solid. It sucks that it does require that extra investment, but it's worth it. But, unfortunately for the C40, the V2 sticks felt better, right out of the box but only because their tension wasn't as loose at the stock C40 modules
I'm just not sure. I'm leaning towards the c40s but as I often hear with any high performance controllers, I always hear about them crapping out or running into major issues within a year and that's across Scuff, BB, and the Astro C40s. Still think overall I'm leaning towards the C40s. I feel like I'm always hearing about issues with Scuf paddles.
The stock thumb sticks for c40 are better I bought battle beavers extreme tension for my right stick and it’s alright but when I went back to stock it felt like I was using a mouse accuracy was on point trust me the stock thumbsticks are worth it don’t waste your money. Plus stick drift it’s so easy to fix just hold down the back black little button let go let it vibrate on its own and that’s it no stick drift.
Nobody mentions the fact that the c40 sticks wear out. Mainly the run stick for FPS games scuff same thing. Only difference is c40 has buyable modules to swap out and replace the sticks. Battle beaver customes and evil controllers have this option. C40 is better just based off this option
I love my C40 ! However, the only problem with the C40 short trigger mode: You can't drive a car/Tank on full gas! It drives slower than if you turned off the short Tigger and you go full throttle! I tried picking up the sensitivity on Astro software for the short trigger mode and nothing.
Swap your bumpers and triggers. I started adsing and shooting with l1 and r1 because of this and tbh I actually like it better plus I can drive tanks and cars normally now lol
On the Vantage 1 you had to put the controller in wired mode to use any headset with it. I didnt notice you mention that with the Vantage 2, did they remove that and make headsets work with a wireless Vantage 2?

I love my atsros but I experience dead zone, stick drift, and lag every 2-3 months using them and have to get new stick modules every single time. The reset button won't fix it either. Pretty annoying for a $300 controller
Yeah I used to get issues with my modules. They sent me one for free, but I ended up getting battle beaver modules for them and haven’t had any issues. Makes this controller unbeatable IMO. I’ve had 2 scufs. Prefer the Astro. Less headache, less issues overall

Has astro fixed the quality control issues with the C40? I've read so many negative reviews about the quality. Sticks failing. Buttons getting stuck or the controller just not turning on anymore idk if I should get it. Any thoughts ?

I had the same problem just replaced the module and it works fine. The sticks will never last for years. No controllers sticks will last for years. I usually run thru controllers every 3 or 4 months because, let me emphasize this, every single controller I've ever bought develops stick drift and stops running because of wear and tear. I love being able to swap the stick module rather then an entire expensive controller its one of the best features I've ever seen.
I went through the same issue. Thumbsticks are cheaply made on purpose so you keep buying them. My first one stop running when you click the left stick after 2 month of use. At the time Astro was sold out of replacements due to everyone needed replacements and said I could send it in or wait till theyanufacture more replacement sticks so I had to buy a new one cause I didnt want to wait 4-6 weeks. But then the same thing happened again after about 1 month. Hope Astro have upgraded the thumbsticks to last longer or build the buttom part of the thumbstick better.
If you can find a proven second run model you’re fine but doing that was impossible for me...out 200 dollars ..it sits there.....first it wouldn’t sprint, Recently I plugged it up and in wired mode it’s response time was worse than the dual shock....
I find it crazy that people say this about the Astro as my experience with it has been perfect. No problems at all. It's like some people would hope that for 200$ the sticks last longer then a normal 60$ dollar controller but the fact is it doesn't but because I can jus replace them instead of replacing the entire controller I love it.

I even bought the battle beaver replacement sticks after Astro fixed the first two only for them to quit again....it’s not the modules themselves it’s the controller they connect to..according to Astro it’s a known defect in a small amount of first run models...or at least that’s what I was told...when the third one started messing up I went and got a scuff...doesn’t feel as good as Astro did...but not down for the chance of getting another dud
I don’t think you know what a gimmick is - being able to just swap your sticks in matter of minutes on a device where to the most likely part to break is the stick is a game changer and makes Astro look way ahead of the competition only downside being less buttons which is a big one too tbh. But yeah if don’t want to constantly send your favorite controller in for repairs or buying a new one swapable sticks is a killerfeature and not a gimmick

You would be surprised how many retarded mfs out there had no idea they could jus clean and vacuum out their Astro c40 modules to keep them running good for a longer period of time or that they could reset the controller to help with stick drift. So many low iq people have jus stopped using their c40s or purchased entirely new controllers after the module actually did fail rather then jus replacing it and making the controller brand new again. I'm on my 3rd left stick and I've saved tons of money not having to buy a brand new controller.

Returned as soon as I could. I want to try again because I liked the feel but I have a Astro and doing that for now.
I went through 4 Astro c40s.....the stick modules are poorly made on most first run models......I even bought the battle beaver sticks .....Best Buy refused to sell me the fourth model warrantee.....be Leary of that.....had one last one week.....the other three made it a month
I love the astro except the most import part, the thumb sticks, they’re absolutely garbage, I went through 3 sets in 3 months and then had to pay out another 70quid from battle beaver to get better quality ones that are now also on the way out. It’s a shame because everything else about it is fantastic.

I have ran into this problem with every controller on the market.... This is to be expected. It shouldn't be this way but it is. Now with that said being able to swap out the faulty module on the c40 restores the controller back to brand new.

The worst controller ever. I've had it for 1 week. There are so many problems with this controller. My thumb stick rings are already wearing. The volume controll won't work. My controller looses connection in the middle of game when using Bluetooth. Scuf will not get back to me. I would never recommend scuf to anyone

Scuff is absolute shit now, extremely cheap materials terrible ergonomics, they last less than 3 months for me, my Astro c40 is a year and a half old and feels brand new. also you can replace the stick modules with custom gaming modules from Battle Beaver making this the best controller ever made hands down.

I bought 2 Scuf controllers, both are dead after 6 months and 1 year of normal use. Never again for me, service is really bad in case of issue.

You can replace the sticks on the vantage also. It's not limited to the C40. The C40 is the only one that can move stick position.
Im not talking about the stick caps, I mean the whole module. I don’t think you can switch them on the vantage , not 100% sure.

Did you ever trying pressing the black button on the back until it vibrates twice? I had stick drift and that help me a lot

My controller looses connection in the middle of game when using Bluetooth. Scuf will not get back to me. I would never recommend scuf to anyone
I’m just going to stick to the normal dual shock controllers if my Scuf dies out or something. This is ridiculous!!!!! lol well I already know it is fuck !!
yea the scuf might be more customizable but it’s cheaper and it breaks easier

How did it break? Cause I still have the control that came with my ps4 which I'm assuming is cheaper quality than a scuff control. Honestly some ppl just dont know how to take care of their shit. My boy can have any control and in a month it's on it's way to destination fucked
@@xavierlugo5296 some scufs arrive broken out of the box. Develops stick drift quickly. Paddles break. Thumbsticks wear out. Ps button gets stuck. Trigger stoppers break.
I need the Astro C40. It would boost my skill by a LOT. At this point, the regular old DualShock 4 just isn’t doing it. I need something newer and faster AND comfier. Too bad it’s fucking $200. But I think it’s pretty worth it.

Scuff is absolute shit now, extremely cheap materials terrible ergonomics, they last less than 3 months for me, my Astro c40 is a year and a half old and feels brand new. also you can replace the stick modules with custom gaming modules from Battle Beaver making this the best controller ever made hands down.
Heard the scuff breaks easily and the warranty isn’t long and they don’t fix it properly

Asto c40 is cool, but the scurf vantage is just better. You have more buttons and its super customizable.
