The Bank is more of a reverse Challenge rift, you don't find The Bank, The Bank finds you. Except it's still optional, but let's be honest, the temptation of Gold and higher tier weapons will absolutely turn players harder. The song is themed properly as there is almost no escape from it. And now, The Bank has you.

i just lost a run like 3 minutes ago to an elite one of those fuckers, i had no chance as pretty weak player
The second time I got to the bank, I opened the second locked door, got to the portal room, and than a fully grown elite gold gorger teleported into that very first portal room and killed me in 2 hits. Where'd it even come from?!?

1. The Bank, though random, is always optional
2. Not all the levels must be completed, some are optional
3. You can NOT pay the debt, its optional
But even choosing it in the first place is already making the run harder, by little, or lot
I killed all the enemies easily, then died twice at the platforming section
I have since learned that the platforming is optional

I just equip a life regen aspect (Blood drinker, toxin lover), grab a hunter’s grenade, grab a freeze ability. Takes time but I got it done eventually.

When I first went I was expecting the business goblin thing you see on the banners at the very start to be a boss at the end that would get harder depending on debt.

What is the bank useful for? I've completed it a few times, and I didn't really seem to get anything out of it.

Curse chest, money and better shop
lots and lots of money, guaranteed cursed chest, guaranteed food shop, chance of a mimic shop that gives +2 level of the item you bought, blueprints, you can borrow money for the shops (and also commit tax evasion), free colourless from doing parkour section. also it takes the biome with the most rewards so if you need healing and the next biome is ancient sewers, the bank is a good option (if you can survive it that is)
