No generally, in most of the companies there is some sort of time that is required between a referral and an application. For amaozn it is 6 months. You should never settle for less. You should try and negotiate the offer. Since you already have a better offer, IMO you can also back off from the offer from the good company and see if they negotiate it up. However this will work only if you have nit already accepted the lesser offer. This will generally depend on the two companies.

As masters do not add much value. And after that you will end up working for the same roles. Only exception if doing masters from good colleges in specific ml etc domains having good papers published you would get opportunities as Applied scientist which is not applicable otherwise

Yes I think so. Principle engineer at Amazon is a very big deal. For example, principle engineer of my org has over 50. Patents and over 80 that are in the process of getting patented. 😊 Years of experience doesn't translate to the level and scope of the role. 😊 And we only have 1 principal engineer under a director. (1 in every 100-200 folks.)

And no here at amazon, we own the entire thing, we create our own products, pitch it, work on the press release, get it approved, design it, build it, experiment with it, if it succeeds then scale it. We are not handed down things. So your assumption is grossly incorrect. If you do not have a go getter attitude, the. You would not be able to build things on your own. And BTW, I had rejected that offer that I am here talking about.

Hi I would then ask you to go and join at SDE 2 level. At SDE 3 level the overall expectation out of you would be immense. You need to understand that, you should be set up for success rather than setting oneself up for failure after cracking the interviews. According to me, I would say do not look at the title at the moment. You would require amazing hands on knowledge of building, deploying and scaling large scale distributed systems. Have extremely good knowledge about system design and low level design, exceptional writing skills and. Obviously great DSA and problem solving skills
Okay, internally is different from an a new joinee right? I generally see "minimum 3 years of experience required" in description while applying for SDE 2 roles
@@vishnureddy-a2z not necessarily. Almost all of them has 2+ yrs requirements. And I have met folks who have joined as 1.5 yrs in as an SDE 2 as well. One of them is in my team as well. It will only happen if your interview loop was an SDE 2 loop though. In my case the loop was scheduled as an SDE 1 loop itself. I didn't know about it untill after the fact.
@@SoumyajitBhattacharyay Thanks, thats helpful. So there's no way to go from SDE-1 to SDE-2 during the interview. When Amazon is interviewing for SDE-2 lets say someone's not strong in design skills, they will be considered for SDE-1 or reject all together (assuming all other aspects went well).
If the panel feels like you raise the bar for sde 1 but not for sde 2 you might be considered for sde 1 as well. I have seen it happen many times but not all. However, if you are in a loop for SDE 1 then definitely you will not get an SDE 2

Hi , I want a guidance from you. Currently i am working in service based company as a .Net lead and have 10+ of years of experience. So what preparation i need to do to move to SDE3 role in amazon or similar role for other companies like MS , Google & Adobe. I do not have any experience in algorithm and problem solving.
Hi I would then ask you to go and join at SDE 2 level. At SDE 3 level the overall expectation out of you would be immense.
You need to understand that, you should be set up for success rather than setting oneself up for failure after cracking the interviews.
According to me, I would say do not look at the title at the moment.
You would require amazing hands on knowledge of building, deploying and scaling large scale distributed systems. Have extremely good knowledge about system design and low level design, exceptional writing skills and. Obviously great DSA and problem solving skills

No that is not true. Internally people can get promoted as early as 1.5 yrs to SDE 2
Okay, internally is different from an a new joinee right? I generally see "minimum 3 years of experience required" in description while applying for SDE 2 roles
@@vishnureddy-a2z not necessarily. Almost all of them has 2+ yrs requirements. And I have met folks who have joined as 1.5 yrs in as an SDE 2 as well. One of them is in my team as well. It will only happen if your interview loop was an SDE 2 loop though. In my case the loop was scheduled as an SDE 1 loop itself. I didn't know about it untill after the fact.
@@SoumyajitBhattacharyay Thanks, thats helpful. So there's no way to go from SDE-1 to SDE-2 during the interview. When Amazon is interviewing for SDE-2 lets say someone's not strong in design skills, they will be considered for SDE-1 or reject all together (assuming all other aspects went well).
If the panel feels like you raise the bar for sde 1 but not for sde 2 you might be considered for sde 1 as well. I have seen it happen many times but not all.
However, if you are in a loop for SDE 1 then definitely you will not get an SDE 2
