Great video Adam be nice to get the xjs solid and this one running I love recomisioning old cars that have sat breathing new life into them all the best donny
White rice is a cheap and effective dessicant to dry out the interior and keep it dry. A few 1 kilo bags of rice with holes punched in the bags for ventilation should dry out that interior if you roll the windows back up and let it do its work. I have used rice to dry out iPhones that were accidently dumped in water (you know where they fell out of someone's pocket) when answering a call from Nature.
Truly enjoyed your video and the trip back home by train. Here it is always hot but we love the cold. Unfortunately no classic jags here but yesterday I saw a black Morgan Plus Six, wondering where you can drive such a car on our bad roads. I had a Jag XJ 4.2 series 3 and it was the best car I ever had. It never let me down! Thank you for sharing this video.
Looks like a nice HE... odd that an RHD car made it to Sweden and then got effectively abandoned... impressive garage ornament / exhibit though. Hoping that you can finish the S-Type soon once these little fettling projects on the fleet are out of the way !
You do see some RHD Jaguar here but mostly due to them being cheaper to buy than LHD ones. Do you mean the V8 S-type? As soon as the weather gets warmer I will finish it. It’s too cold right now to lay on my back on concrete to put the gearbox mount back on
Hello Adam, I enjoy your vidios. I have an 83 XJS with 41,000 miles. It was parked in good running condition 20 years ago and has not been started since. This past fall I took it to a tepair garage wioth what I believed to be a very qualified mechanic. After several weeks and much expense he was not able to get the car running. Repaiors included draining the old fuel and installing new fuel pump and filter. A new starter motor. New coil, distribitor cap, new plug wires, new spark plugs, new ignition modulator, new fuel injectors, used computer that was suppoed to be good. The car still would not start. The mecanic said the fuel injector pulse was weak and he could not figure out why. Any suggestions as to what I could try? The car has always been garaged and looks great. I am 82 and would like to enjoy driving it while I still can. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks, Jerry
@@LivingWithAClassic I'm really looking forward to it. Your channel is so useful and practical Adam. It genuinely helped assure me I wasn't getting in over my head when buying my own XJ-S.
Superb adam ....your videos are such a massive help.....please dont skip any steps......my 89 5.3 fouls the plugs after 5 mins at idle......any ideas? ....brian
Hi Adam . I did wonder if that was your series 2 XJ in the background ?! Well , your friends XJS looks very sound . So he has your"S"type ? He must have more workshop space behind ? I would think the U.S would be the place to get a headlamp. Unless the fuel has congealed in the fuel tank l think this should be pretty straightforward . .....time will tell !! Thanks Adam.
Do you mean the white one? The white XJ12 is mine. I still have the ‘66 S-type at home but it will got to his place for work after the XJ-S and my XJ40 has been there. I think it will be sometime in early summer
@@LivingWithAClassic Hi Adam . As you were reversing the XJS off the flat bed , directly behind you was a Series 2 in Green with whitewalls ! So naturally l thought you were driving "yours " back home ! 😆😆😆
Glad to see progress on the XJS! Thanks Adam!
Thanks Mark!
Got to love an XJS. Nice to see you and your friend helping each other out.

It’s a lot of fun isn’t it! Such a great feeling when they start running again

Its a check EVERYTHING, fuel tanks, lines, and every thing forward !
Looking forward to watching you going through it all !
Good luck !
Fun video! I am so jealous of the Sweden weather at the moment. There is still tons of snow everywhere in Canada!
It’s been a very snow free winter this year but we’ve had a lot of rain.
First of all, recheck everything they replaced. Good luck!
Thanks that was exactly my thought! It’s up and running now and that will be the next video on the channel
Adam when are we going to see some work on the s-type? I have to replace the water pump on my s-type this weekend…. Wooohooo
Which one? If you mean the blue V8 one? I have started work on it again now that the weather has been better. It’s been very cold down in storage
Nah that’s not a proper s type… the 1966 one

@@LivingWithAClassic Certainly a "cool car"...
Great video. Look FWD to you getting this started
The 1983 xjs is my favourite year, also it’s my favourite colour. Looking forwards to seeing this one run 👍
It’s a good year for them. They look very good in red
I had same issue with mine; blew out the fuel lines with air then it ran

Worth checking that coaxial cable from ignition system which sends the spark pulse to ECU for the injectors?
Great tip! Not going to spoil anything but it’s up and running now and on Saturday the next video will be up

Mon.back!
Can't have too many XJ-S's on the channel 👍🏻
Very true!

It’s Dan’s car, he has a twin of mine. It will be coming to my place later for a tune up and a few more items
@@LivingWithAClassic Thanks Adam . Well at least it proves my eyes still work ! 😅😅😅😅
Hope it will take long to get that XJs running. Means more trouble shooting videos 😎
It did take some troubleshooting and you’ll see that in the next video 😊
I guess injectors don't open .....
It actually does run now. Big video on it on Saturday
@@LivingWithAClassic My guess is an obstruction in the fuel lines. (Gum or something.) Waiting for Saturday to find out if I'm right.
Good guess 😊 Not going to spoil anything
