No dumb long intro No background loud music No bullshit back story No shaky camera Clear verbal instructions, straight to the point. Thanks for the great video 👍👍👍
And with the right amount of detail....wish he’d do some videos for second generation Tacomas, Hondas and Corollas...much better than the typical 30-minute rambles.
Every You Tuber needs to take a lesson from this man. Quick, clean, precise and to the point. No stupid documentary or personal stories on why you use blah blah. Well done brother.
Great video!! Buf One suggestion for anyone with older model panthers.. Drain plug on the radiator has a tendency to get very brittle and if it breaks you’ll need a whole new radiator(I learned this one the hard way)… instead of using the drain plug you can also disconnect the lower radiator hose and drain it that way… it’s messier but way cheaper than a new radiator
I broke mine off accidentally. Now when I flush coolant I gotta stick a flathead in there and twist. Have heard you can also melt plastic onto that plug and let it set, then twist
You dont have to get a new one, mine snapped first time i used it but i just stuck a torq 45 in it and it fit perfectly. now i get to use a ratchet to open. kinda better then how it was designed. may just fab up a metal one.
EXCELLENT VIDEO Bro! I have never did one of these, and I was like "What the heck is he going to do with that pry bar and hammer", NOW I SEE, LOL, those pumps are in there! Great job and instructions!
Thank you for such a well documented video. That’s a great idea placing a bolt to hold the old pump till it broke free. I didn’t think it would be so hard to get the old one off. Again thanks for the great video.
Finally someone that gets it! Great video, everything was explained without any useless BS or opinion. There are a lot of clowns out there telling people how to do stuff the wrong way. You got it nailed man, nice job.
Excellent video. Did this once before on my old 97 T-bird with 4.6. Just about to head out now to do fresh water pump on my '03 Grand Marquis. This helped to refresh my memory, and have the right size sockets ready to go. Thanks man!!!
Thank you for this video! I was able to do the same job on my 2006 Grand Marquis and it went smooth. I used your tip with putting one bolt part way in when prying out the pump, that saved my bacon!
No kiddng this was maybe the best if not one of the best videos ive seen on youtube re working on a crown vic. Straightforward, no frills, great camera work and narration. Thanks man big time.
dude! thank you very much for the very detailed and informative video on how to replace your water pump. chalk one up to how EASY it is to work on these cars. these cars are the last of it's generation so preventive maintenance is a must to keep these cars trucking along.
Wow thank you so much. Your video was the first I watched. Glad I did. I thought I had to throw my vic away, I didn't know it was just a bolt on part. You saved me, my family and our vic. I sincerely thank you.
Nice job bud. I like the way you did the video and went the extra mile giving part numbers and the little things others don't show. I know how to do the water pump but wanted to see what people have done. These cars are so easy to work on. And thing with thermostat, rubber o ring and no prematex.
0:35 that water pump pulley tricked my on my 07 Town Car... I had disassembled it, and it was a couple weeks before I put it back together. I got the flange backwards! (The serpentine splines will not line up on the crankshaft, if it's backwards) Great video, thanks for the upload
Great, to the point video. I was worried about a coolant leak that it would be the intake manifold but luckily it was the water pump. I used the astro tools 78585, pressure tester kit, and highly recommend it.
Thanks for a video that’s straight to the point with excellent little details. Like feeding the belt back on at the end. Only detail is ask for is oem part number in the video description. Keeps me from having to rewind and write it down
Turns out I do need a computer to work on my Crown Vic; so I can find this video!! Best one I watched, made it a 45 minute project start to finish (and I'm not very mechanically inclined lol ) Appreciate the help!
Was it? I have a intermittent leak directly under the car dripping straight down from the center pully. Im thinking gasket or pump but might as well change them both.
@@lesterparker3216 Hey yea it was the pump. Honestly very easy to do,the hardest part was getting the old pump out. A lot of prying and banging but it came off. I never took the belt completely off so i wouldn't have to figure out how to put it back so that made it easier, I could probably do one in about 20 mins now that i know how easy it is. Make sure you get silicate to put on the new old ring
@@lesterparker3216 Oh yea, its a good idea to change the belt while you're there. Had i known my belt was cracking, it would have been the perfect time to change the belt so inspect your old belt to see if you should change it.
Wow, best video I have found! Thank you for this video! I am learning piece by piece how to replace parts on my 2000 crown vic p71. Alternator pulley failed and just ate the belt on mine. It broke my bypass pulley in the process then I noticed the water pump pulley making noise. I think it's time replace water pump, since it is original to the motor.
That was a great and easy to follow video! My one suggestion in the future is, the next time you need to loosen any of the bolts on any of the accessory pulleys, like swapping out underdrive pulleys for example, is to use the impact wrench with the belt on so that you have easier to break the tension on those bolts....
Just wanted to let you know I watched two videos on the same installation prior to watching you just like to watch a couple in case other guys have better methods that being said your video was of the best production quality you zips through the easy stuff and took your time with the stuff that needs a little bit more attention all the information you needed was there and did not skip one bit of the video as I did with the other guys haven’t seen any of your videos prior to this one hoping there’s more out there because I educate myself with TH-cam lol
Great vid,the hardest part of this job is getting the old pump to let go,I had to crack it like in the vid only on both sides ,keep a couple of bolts in it like shown and work it out
Getting ready to replace the coolant pump on my 2010 lincoln town car. I hear this on and off squeak that comes on when the motor is coming down from a high RPM. I've already replaced the belt, tensioner pulley and alternator lol the water pump is next since the noise seems to becoming from that area. I read the mechanic manual on how to remove it and it says a noise could be coming from there. Thanks for the video I hope that noise goes away. Also I found some metal dust in the coolant over flow reservoir not sure what to make of it other than the water pump going bad. Thank for the video!
Great video! I have an 01 Lincoln executive and the water pump is starting to make some noise. Been thinking of doing it myself but then again the car is due for a timing chain replacement and having a few adjustments so Im also thinking of having a shop just do it all for me.
Good timing - I'm looking at replacing the timing set along with the oil and water pumps. Already have new radiator hoses and overflow tank. 24 years on the road should be enough for the originals.
5:57 but the dealer showed me the chart where the 99 uses green up to mid 2003, and gold after, not sure if it makes a significant difference but i always try to follow those specs
Thanks Bro! You’ve made it look easy! I have a 2008 & 2010 Ford crown Victorian police interceptor(my daughter bought three at auction!) All three are the same colors as yours, mine burns both regular gas & propane. My next project shows code P0355, I changed all my spark plugs & ignition coils (clearing all codes!), but the code keeps popping up??? LMK IF YOU’ve had the same problems??
I just did this job. I could not believe how hard it was to remove the old water pump from the block. I finally removed it with a pry bar, a BFH, and some PB Blaster. Most difficult part of the job
Would a bad water pump make a buzzing\dragging sound? My marquis was making a slightly high pitch noise on startup but only for a couple of minutes and then it would stop but today it no longer makes the high pitch noise. It now makes a sort of buzzing\dragging sound and it doesn't stop. It makes the noise the whole time the car is on
What if you put green coolant instead of yellow ? Can i still add yellow coolant even though my last coolant exchange I did green.now I might have to change my water pump because It’s leaking coolant

Nice. Straight to the point. No fluff. Tells everything you need to know. I hope your vic is running for many years to come!
Bro you did a clean video one of the best I’ve seen in a long time ! Keep up the work bro
I wish all DIY videos was this clear and easy to understand... Good job bro!!
Do you have a video for a intake manifold for this car?
It all depends in the model of the cars too, this engine are easy to work on

on the 3.5 v6 that ford has on the taurus the water pump is hooked up to the timing chain

No problem, its really a simple repair
None of the BS hour and a half videos, simple and straight to the point, Bravo. Mechanic wanted 275.00, I am very sure I can do that, thanks
Best video! Detailed but not a bunch of extra talking. Great job sir
Hands down the best video for maintenance I've seen in a long time. Clean, to the point no extra BS no dumb adds. Keep it up!!
Dude thanks for the tip. I was successful despite not being a mechanic. Your video made it happen.
A good Professional video,, 👍
(Simple note,, when I can remember beforehand, I break the bolts loose before I take the belt off). Thanks
Great video a mechanic wanted $400.00 to do this bro you saved ,e hundreds of dollars thank you bless you and your family

I feel a pump replacement in the near future. Great video!
The pump on my vic is making a horrible sound and this video is perfect I like how you dont skip over anything in the process
Its an easy job and relatively cheap part. Thanks for watching

This video was so well made! Thank you for providing this. I see a leak down by the pulleys, and I'm suspecting it's the water pump.

that is the easiest water pump replacement i've ever seen! I don't even have a Crown Vic but i will get one
