I love fly fishing the Emigrant wilderness. Nice video, looked like fun. My go to fly , which can be fished in a variety of debts, depending on how it's weighted , is The Birds Nest, usually with a bead head.
Just got back from this lake today, what a coincidence! Had pretty much the opposite experience regarding mosquitos, I don't think I saw a single one. Funny what a difference a week or two can make. Fishing was ok, they were very difficult to figure out. Finally got my first on a fly I tied though :) Great vid, and congrats on the soon to be fatherhood!
Awesome video. Always gotta be careful with lightning when you’re holding a 9 ft metal pole lol. By the way, what trailhead did you hike out of? Looked like a beautiful trail
@@PalmCirclePete Echoing michael's question, just got back from the Gianelli route and it was a little tougher than I expected. Wouldn't mind taking an easier route for sure lol
Yea I do not prefer the Gianelle trailhead or crabtree to chewing gum. I love coyote meadows, it’s just nice to have a four wheel drive because you have to drive about 25 miles on a pretty rough dirt service road.
congrats on your child. this was my favorite video so far
Thank you!!

That’s crazy! Glad you had a good time though and we’re able to catch some fish. Any thunderstorms?
@@PalmCirclePete Nope, weather was warm and clear the whole time. Some cloud cover would've been nice actually with how dry it was up there.

Yes that’s exactly the fear I had. I wrapped the rod with my sweater, idk if that helped but it made me feel safer 😅

@@PalmCirclePete Interesting, do you prefer the route from the Coyote Meadows Trailhead over the Gianelli Trailhead?
