I will be three in 2 months (Sorry, different cruise line) so nice to have a preview. and i plan to take the hop-on hop-off bus . It is a beautiful port, looking forward to seeing Norway@ . Thank you.
You will love it, Juanita! It is a great spot (as you can see), and I am sure you'll create great memories like I did. Glad I could help give you a sneak peek.
That bus ride gave you some great panoramic views out across the sea. We did the 418 steps up to the viewpoint you reached by the hoho bus (not actually realising at the time that there was in fact an actual bus we could have taken !!)
Loved this video, I was in Alesund in September 2022 with Disney. I didnt do the bus but just walked around, so its great to see other parts of the city. You had a great weather, we had the same blue skies but I have seen other videos where its been cloudy and overcast. I have done bus tours with that company in many countries and cities, you should have asked for the earphones, as they have information in multiple languages you can listen to as you drive around. You might have seen the plugs on the back of the seats.
We did have great weather that day - I feel very lucky and thankful about it! There were some notes where we did get bits of information (like the knighted penguin) via the pamphlet I was reading. You are correct, one can get earbuds for the tour (or bring your own) and listen to facts and points of interest about the area.
I was a flight attendant for 37 years at American Airlines; I always suggested to passengers that taking a Hop-On-Hop-Off bus on this first afternoon in a city was an efficient and easy way to see many places. For example, landing at LHR at 0800, going to the hotel sleeping about four hours, and using the first afternoon on the bus. I explained you are tired and maybe need clarification, and taking the bus allowed them to see many points of interest without looking at maps and figuring out how to get somewhere. In London, people with want to take the "Tube" would be underground and miss seeing many places. Have dinner and get a good night's sleep. Be well and travel smart. (Nice to hear you insisting you get some dental floss. Just remember to floss BEFORE you brush.)
I was on this cruise, we were really annoyed they cancelled the port because we were not informed of this... BUT!!! It was still an amazing cruise and we're hoping to go back in 2024.
It is a disappointing thing to cancel and change the itinerary, Jordan. Unfortunately, it was not in control of the ship, line, or crew. We as crew were equally disappointed. However, the ship must sail on, and the captain and crew do their best to make up for it. See you in 2024!
@@DANOVERBOARDvlogs I totally understand that, the ship must carry on. It's just a frustrating thing. Its the first time I've had a port cancelled. All I can say is it was a holiday to remember, I proposed to my girlfriend when leaving Olden, so we're planning on returning after the wedding. Hope to see all the crew again as they were amazing!
@@DANOVERBOARDvlogs We totally get that, as we live in Scotland so for us too this landscape and topography feels familiar and yet yes, also new and thrilling as its 'somewhere else'
Hi Daniel! I wasn't sure to cut this into two parts around the 12 to 18 minute mark to make it more digestible. I kept as one as the segment(s) worked better.
lovely view from the accident site

My hometown 😀
Nice video!
Lucky you. It's a beautiful spot to have as a hometown.

Agreed. The views were absolutely gorgeous.
Ha! Hoho is sooo much easier to say! 😅

Works for me, thanks for the tour.
Anytime, Keith! Thank you for joining on my virtual tour. Please consider coming along in person sometime!
I did this port with MSC last year, and really enjoyed it - you've portrayed it really well in this video, well done!
Much appreciated, Fraser. I'm glad we both had great experiences.

Great tips, Stephen.
I agree that the Ho-Ho is an excellent way to see and learn a lot in a low effort way.
To me it’s okay if it’s a long video I’ll watch it in bits anyway. Thank you for sharing the beautiful views and tour of Ålesund!
Hey Emmanuel! Thank you for your feedback and coming along. More to come :)
This video is a bit longer than my others. Does this long-from work, or would you have preferred it a two-parter?
My hometown :) hope you enjoyed your stay :)
I did. Very much. I hope to return again if the wind blows me in the right direction.
well....always blow here up north......for vacations, come late july or august :)

@@jordansmith1607 That is fantastic! Congratulations to you both!
9:21 had me dead💀
RIP in peace 🪦
The landscape of Norway must feel a little like Canada for you I guess ?
It really does. Some places are very similar, although it seems more 'exciting' in a foreign land, doesn't it?

20 to 30 minute videos seem to be the norm for most vloggers
