For those not familiar with Rachmaninoff this is a VERY WELL DONE variation of the end of the 3rd movement of Rachmaninoff's 2nd piano concerto. I have been in love with this concerto for over 50 years. I heard it the first time at age 15 during a very difficult time of my teenage years. The whole concerto seemed to embrace me like someone who knew the pain and loneliness i was feeling at the time. Do not go through life without listening to the Rachmaninoff 2nd piano concerto. There is wisdom in the melody that words cannot convey.

"There is wisdom in the melody that words cannot convey."
That is the perfect sentiment to capture the emotions which Rachmaninoff's 2nd piano concerto elicits. It is one of the most touching and romantic pieces I've ever listened to.

    • @TheRobertEllismusic
      @TheRobertEllismusic  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

Interesting..A lot of people have said a similar thing ...mentioning Victor Borge...after seeing me play some performances that appear comical..?
I do not at all have the comedic discipline to play or present a performance like Mr. Victor Borge.
For now, I have not gathered over my Musical Performing Life, a disciplined enough approach to employ such a comedic presentation on the level of the Great Victor Borge,
I use Comedy ...as necessary salve perhaps to oppressive seriousness...in offering up Music within a Public Performance, for example, and, not necessarily, as
a 'pre-planned' intention to stir up a 'comedic response'..in the audience..especially in Classical Music Improvisations.
      .
Often I feel a gulf of indefinable sadness...{from what I perceive as a misunderstanding on some level}..at 'immediate reactions' to my visual appearance..in 'live' performances on stage or in any public venue.
I play the Piano with an entirely different interaction with the Muse. when I am alone at the piano with no earthly person..( from outside the indoor room with me at the Piano)....watching or listening....
When I make an I-Movie.. I confess, 'I am not aware'..of my outward appearance as I am improvising in a joyful continuum in which I am merging in an INFINITE NOW....ascending in tandem with each note that I am 'able' to carry along with me ...
      .....'in the moment'...
Most my attention is internally listening to the Muse within the soul of either me,...or the Composer..
The camera is an alien-like intrusion on my Improvisatory Stream as it sets up a quasi- hyper-artificial intruding... on the organic spirit; the cosmological flow and sway of the MUSIC.....and when it is monitored with an internal computer camera itemizing electronically...and in some....questionable ways..on a kind of:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Subversive, Electronically-Magnetically-Artificially .... constructed 2 dimensional [0100100100100100100]
      ALGORITHIM
That is the height of a continuing
      DISTRACTION
I occasionally check the computer screen which is videoing..to see what 'timethe duration' has advanced to.

Thanks Justin. As the old saying goes...practice makes perfect. I was drawn to the piano at an early age( age 3 according to my mother)......and I shall be playing long into a late age....I think it's been said in Theological circles, that in the beginning there was Llight...but I personally feel Sound was First.....sound can also be enhanced and made more colorful through the workings of the myriad approaches of Touch......touch determines the quality of sound in various subtle ways...

France one of my favorite places in the whole wide world.....while Playing Music on Cruise Ships...1996 to 2005....I .visited France....beautiful...
Also ...a psychic informed me...about 44 years ago that I had a lifetime in France about 1505 as a Dancer....my sister in this current life was my Dance partner in that life...probably danced for the Royalty...??
Also in this life, I was an accompanist in Santa Rosa California... for a gentlemen teacher(as was his wife a teacher)...who was born in England in this life who studied at the Royal Academy of Ballet in London.
I think in a Past life he was Louis The XIV, who was an accomplished dancer
Here is a somewhat comedic Improvisation of mine on a few notes from Chopin's Minute Waltz.
