- This video documents the construction portion of Butterick 5861 that I completed over several evenings and the long weekend. I chose this pattern because I wanted to work on a project that included fabric manipulation. The front tuck band has strips of bias turned upward in the center of the band and sewn in place. See Part 2 for more details on how to accomplish this. For a cutting-out demonstration see Part 1.
This is a fun project if you are looking for a creative outlet. The pattern instructions are brief so having intermediate sewing knowledge is helpful, or you can follow my video to get a step by step play back. I am happy with the fit of the blouse and plan to make at least one other version, possibly with smocking detail. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy watching my video!
