similar story bro...started with a budget of 11-12 lakhs in mind...i20 IVT il thudangi...oru light vandi feel ayirinnu...gave no special vibes...pinne Altroz DCA odichu nokki...drivability was much much better...serikkum ishtappettu and was almost gonna book it but some friends scared me by sharing user sotries of DCA gearbox malfunctioning...njan vandi vanganath oru long term thing use inu aanu...10-15 years okke use cheyyan...so reliability issue kettathu kond kurach sankadathode thanne Altroz inodu bye paranju...
then tried Honda Amaze...seemed like a reliable car...but somehow the idea of a sedan didn't spark joy...
after that as you said started considering one segment above to compact SUVs. Started with Venue...liked the look...but DCT overheating issue in city traffic was a concern...and the mileage issue that you mentioned...Nissan Magnite seemed a great choice on paper...CVT transmission...feature loaded...however, read some reliability issues on online forums...by chance met a Magnite owner and asked his experience...and he said he wouldn't recommend...so that was the end of Magnite/Kiger
Didn't consider Sonet as it is also in DCT. Nexon is a good pick but it either comes in AMT (jerky) or DCA (same issue as of Altroz). Didn't want to go with Mahindra...
Then there is Brezza! Liked the look of it. Also, a friend had recommended the car. Took a test drive, and was slighlty overwhelmed...as I have only driven compct hatchbacks till then...but the Torque Converter transmission felt very smooth
After a lot of deliberations, have finally booked Brezza ZXI AT variant. (decided against VXI for rear wiper, sunroof, keyless entry and alloy wheel). Will miss some features like 360 camera...but paying another 1.7 lakhs for it seemed too much...waiting...

Almost ആ സെജ്‍മെന്റിലുള്ള വണ്ടികളെല്ലാം ഞാൻ ടെസ്റ്റ്‌ ഡ്രൈവ് ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. But Taigun ഓടിച്ചപ്പോ തീരുമാനമായി. ഇപ്പോൾ 1 ltr Highline MT 2 മാസമായി ഓടിക്കുന്നു. എന്റെ സ്ഥലം തലശ്ശേരിയാണ് എന്നെങ്കിലും നേരിട്ട് കാണാം എന്ന് വിചാരിക്കുന്നു. Anyway thank you for the good video ❤

I don’t know who advised you regarding considering the next segment car based on the budget ! That’s a very bad financial decision. Yes, in a consumerist state like Kerala, besides a house, cars are a matter of pride and self esteem. However, beyond that coming to the financial decision, hope you are already aware that cars are depreciating assets(other than maybe Toyota), a loan will set you back in a debt spiral. Yearly maintenance coupled with fuel costs are only additional burdens especially coming to next segment cars. Larger cars come with heavier insurance and taxes. Yes, space is a major consideration for an Indian family, but for a small family like yours I don’t know if that was really a major decision parameter. Other than that if you have the budget always go for the bigger car, but if you don’t have, a big NO. B/w in early late 2020/early 2021 I too zeroed in on Tata punch, Brezza, XUV 300 and booked Nissan Magnite finally. But, as destiny would have it there was delay in car delivery and I finally bought the Skoda rapid putting some additional money. I had the financial flexibility since I am single but would have never considered the next segment if I had the budget constraint. In short, carsinte karyathil budget constraint undenkil never exceed the budget from a financial perspective! That extra money could be used for many other useful purposes…

That’s why I said , if you have the budget always go for it, but if you don’t, the long term companionship can soon turn into not such a honeymoon experience. Spending 2 L extra on a 10 L car is 20%, which is pretty high for a middle class buyer if you consider the loan amount and the monthly debt outgo. A holistic experience can be garnered if you can find contentment with what you have. Unfortunately our minds always seek the next best thing and if wisdom is the ingredient in decision making , one would never go for the feel good factors. Regrets and pride all fall in the mind trapped by conditioned factors of culture and pattern thinking. If you buy a 11-12 lakh range car, your mind would be fixated on the next 15 L car and when you buy a 15 L car, the mind will be fixated on the next 20 L car and the regression is never ending ! Anyway as an owner it’s entirely your prerogative my friend but I was only questioning that adviser of yours which is by no means a wise decision from a financial stand point for a middle class buyer. You have used two good words Wisdom and Prudence. That’s what I would like to stress upon again. For an upper class buyer, the tables shift and such questions don’t arise. @@AkhilKaronnon . Finally, let me put the things in perspective which can make it clearer. A 10 L loan at 10% interest rate for 5 years will leave you paying around 21k as monthly payment. Now if the loan amount is increased to 12 L ,the monthly payment goes up to 25k ie a clear 4K increase in payment. For a middle class buyer, that could be the his/her monthly grocery budget. Now, if you say that experience in car is more important that food on the table, well how much prudence/wise can that sound? For an extreme car enthusiast those things wouldn’t matter and I am guessing you are not one since one wouldn’t buy a Brezza ! The law of diminishing marginal utility would be seen with every experience and two to three years down the lane, we must re-engage this conversation to see whether that decision was prudent. Hi bro, have been looking for a compact suv with a budget of around 12 lakhs. Which is the better option, venue s(o) 1.2 petrol or brezza Vxi or Sonet Htk+ ??
I would say to extensively testdrive all the three options.
For me I opted out Venue petrol because of its low fuel efficiency. Then Sonet was in consideration. Eventually when I did test drive of Brezza AT it outplayed all other options

Orvm is major draw back. Blinds the right side view on bends as the driver door window is small and this mirror cluster is huge that blocks the view. All others are fine as good as other Maruti cars. It gives a huge vehicle feel when you are inside.
Up to an extent I too had the same issue. But I believe it's a common problem in this segment.
Brezza - Evident body roll,spongy braking, lag engine, rear seat only for two adults, bad steering feedback are negatives
