Hurricane Florence Flooding in Fayetteville, NC 17SEP2018 Kayaking Over Roads

  • This is all the flooding I have witnessed thus far in Fayetteville from the 15th to the 17th. The Cape Fear and Little River are still on the rise causing major issues. The Little River has crested way above what was predicted and shutdown many roads. Today, the 18th, people are turning 15 minute drives to work into hour drives to avoid shutdown roads.

Why can't I fined home videos on this hurricane on TH-cam like I used to. Each time I try it goes strain to mainstream controlled media. Google is directing the traffic of this storm to control the narrative (censorship) MSM is loosing it's core audience because they Lie to mush just for ratings. Are they really that desperate? They are always telling us how to think, feel and see. People are catching on to it so they're blocking you tubers from posting home video's of this storm. How could we just sit and allow this to happen? people are to busy to fight for rights these days or they just don't care about being silenced.

nice job showing what this weather bomb of mass destruction has done to Our Sisters n Brothers in the Carolina's. Polish Pres. Duda came here to ask from us thru out president that will help his people, country economy. Pres. Trump took Duda on a tour of the weapon of mass destruction caused his people & nation. I wonder if Duda ever thought about what they could do for us...or if he could give info on who is behind this weather bombing. Sickening. BTW Mark....I thought there was a mound of cherries, which looked like one of my favorite species which is Reiner Cherries...until I saw them moving...those BUGS ARE HUGE...!!!! What the heck are those things???!! It's right at 13:09....would really like to know...are they venomous? My heart goes out to you all....my small town was attacked in May 2017 by a tornado....the air quality has been very bad ever since. So need a snow fall of large snow flakes to purify the air so get ready....when a place has been devastated by winds & rain....gong to see breathing & health problems significantly worsen. Thanks for sharing your video w/us, Mark. Plz keep us posted how everyone...n your community is doing.. Our Prayers & Thoughts are w/you all....wish I could help.

Not trying to hate, I appreciate the perspective. But I don't think people realize how inherently dangerous kayaking through flooded urban areas is. I'm in Houston, and several people lost their lives doing this.. During a flood, Maintenence and repair is being done in these areas to restore power. And even generators back-feeding on main lines is enough to kill in standing water. As an Electrician, I get hit all the time, and sometimes you have a "blowback scenario" the force will knock you off the current. In water, esp. a kayak where your essentially sitting in the water, touching nearby objects to navigate etc.. Is just really risky man.

Also avoid any downed electric lines. The are deadly, even if they appear insulated - they're not. I knew someone there in Fayetteville (different event) killed because he thought the polymer coating would make the line safe to touch by insulating the electric current from him as he moved the wire. No , it's probably just to protect the line from corrosion or something. It won't provide you protiection like occurs with household electrical cords. You will die, if you assume downed lines are insulated to protect you.

+kathy shoeshop I was one of those people who tried to improve Fville with all their heart and left many good friends behind.. used to live in Haymount.. my efforts were only appreciated by people who appreciate Fayetteville Musicians which are none of the powers you claim to be wanting to improve the place.. the same kind of improvement has been going on since I moved there in 1980 and nothing has come of it except 4th Friday.. As a Local of course you love it.. I used to love it too when i lived right next door to mayor JL Dawkins on Ellington Street. he was the first one who tried to make a decent place out of downtown.. I ve been very involved w downtown so as I said i am one of the ones who tried to change things but it was not appreciated nor did I ever make a dime! Did you know that the Fville Dogwood festival does NOT pay a dime to local performers?

You know what makes me laugh? The fact that people stay in area's like this where they know will flood if bad weather comes. People should all move away from rivers and coast lines to prevent their homes getting lost. Why have they not realized this yet? Crazy. Just don't live where you know floods can happen. Leave those places and go to where your homes will be safe from all this destruction.

Well Goober this is nothing compared to what Hurricane Irma did to Florida, and I lived it, 110C at night with no power no wind blowing, 90+C during the day with little wind, ALL radio stations offline Radio waves were flat lined I'm not even sure if the HAM radio's were working in my area, if the Repeaters were effected by the power outage then they were likely down as well. The only cell tower within 5 miles was not working couldn't make calls, Every Gas station had no Gas the Gas tanks had to drive anywhere from 2-4 hour drives back and forth with a single tank of gas the less then 20 minutes after the Gas was in the ground it was gone... Anyone who needs to keep their medication cold was basically fuck'ed, YOU really need to prepare if you have loved ones that require their medication to stay cold, If you got a chest freezer I'd highly recommend that you fill the whole damn freezer with bottle water 48 hours before something like this happens, You can go a long time without food, however water is gonna be the biggest needed thing to have.
And if you live in a state like I do (Florida) 1-2 months before Hurricane Season you should, buy anywhere from 15-45 cases of water and I'm talking about 24-32 in a pack. Every thing that is wildlife is fair game to eat, means any fish which is normally not allowed to be kept is now out the window and them rules no longer apply.

At this juncture, this writer feels life is becoming too short, and worries if the message of life will reach the people of this world in time.
The extreme weather or lack thereof, around the globe has become relentless. We have severe droughts in over 50% of world, around 37% severe precipitation with rain, snow, or hail overwhelming the tributaries, and storms of all elements at an all time high, we need hero’s to step up.
As one reviews the so called “Weather Forecasting Channels”, you would think “Meteorologist” would be on the forefront of “Demanding Building Code Reform”. Meteorologist sees firsthand the devastation as a result of “Inadequate Building Codes.” We must ask “Why haven’t they made it a point to change this disconcerting outcome?” Where a person’s home is no longer a shelter, their natural rights of prosperity, property, and sovereignty swept away in one deadly swoop. Entire family tree whipped off the face of the earth and Meteorologist want to talk about the wind direction at the Cubs Baseball Game. Where is their Humanity? Meteorologist are more about looking good then saving lives. Looking good on camera, as a forecaster, as a hero that warns us/reminds us our lives are not our own, that is all a Meteorologist is for us. When our $350,000 new home is built of twigs, insurance companies, FEMA, UN, Red Cross, the National Guard and the Government have more Rights than we do when it comes to getting our lives back. Why do we fight to get back what we already had and should have never lost in the first place if our “Inherent Natural Rights” meant anything?
Meteorologist were at one time, folks that worked to protect our communities, now they only warn our communities, and walk through the aftermath time and time again, without a word of outrage. th-cam.com/video/uYvC5lBbfcE/w-d-xo.html

Gov. Cooper should just keep on saying: "IN God WE TRUST" instead of warning people that God does not exist because why would a god drown his children.

Howdy Mark, sorry everything is almost lost caused by the flood. Question: Tell me where is your vest/lifesaver while you are in the canoe? Safety first.
