I need to take a closer look at brands like Oris. They seem to be a good value and this one is such a nice looking piece.
Excellent review Tim, you’ve described the dial color and subtle nuances better than I ever could and I own one (on a bracelet). It has quickly become one of my favorites, most surprising is how very comfortable it is for such a large watch. Highly recommended and a bit of a wake up call for other manufactures priced considerably north of the Oris; it possesses every measure of quality and at a substantially reduced price. Bravo Oris. Thank you for your continued superlative watch reviews, most appreciated Tim!!!!
Nicely made timepiece from Oris, one of the affordable good watch maker that offer great value timepieces without compromising it quality. Great detail reviews Tim.
I'm a big fan of these reviews, Tim. Keep them coming. Oris definitely delivers a lot of watch for the money, and this diver has to be my favorite Aquis. Just so happens I'm in the market for a diver.
Thanks for the kind words Ken! We happen to know where you can find some dive watches 😉

So which diver did you eventually buy?
@@danisheverblue Still sitting on the fence, the no date Longines Legend caught my eye and muddied the waters. And while this debate rages on in my head, I enjoy wearing my Orient Nami. Cheers!
It would look huge on my small wrist but I really like this baby! The blue / dark teal sunburst dial and grey bezel are very good looking. Thanks for sharing!
Got this with the metal bracelet. Stunning, tough and reliable. Great review.
Great review Tim. This is by far the best Oris Aquis
Great review, fast, interesting (but not trying too hard lol) and informative! Keep em coming, you got a new subscriber!
Great review! Thank you for it!

Thanks Tim!
Great review. Beautiful watch. Oris really offers high quality pieces at a reasonably affordable price. I prefer them to Omega or Rolex tbh. I like the colour scheme of Source of Life, very classy, a bit understated, but some people are into that sort of classic look.
Not a fan of rubber straps, but I m sure it's more comfortable, and the clasp looks durable and efficient.
"The dial...how to describe the dial? It is like slate blue that's been touched by a goddess's finger...imbuing this one with a sensational blue grey sunburst that has overtones of cobalt and undertones of sea green." WOW.
nice watch,thanks for this review
What part of the watch is Tungsten and also is the bezel still ceramic?
The bezel is tungsten
Bezel is tungsten and it is even harder to scratch than ceramic bezel
Beautiful watch, but I hate that you're limited to Oris straps only. I've been between this and Squale for a few weeks now, not an easy decision
Is this a better watch than the new Longines HydroConquest with the ceramic bezel in terms of build quality and movement?
Well this Source of life -version of Aquis has tungsten bezel that is harder than ceramic. Both watches have a same movement. Longines HydroConquest has caliber 633 movement and it is basically ETA 2824. Oris uses 733 which is same as Sellita SW-200, Sellita's copy of ETA 2824. Oris has a quite distinct look among the dive watches. On the other hand it is more expensive than HydroConquest. You should choose the one that you like more, both are great wathces.
@@anttitapio4145 Thanks for the info. Tungsten may be harder than ceramic but is it also scratch resistant? I was just wondering considering the not-so-insignificant price difference, what more does the Oris offer. I've seen both in store and the Longines has a bezel that wobbles (I see it as an indication of low quality) and the Oris has a solid bezel. I want to check out another Hydroconquest to see if they're all like that but not many stores here in Australia have the new version.
@@ralentinovossi8081 As far as I know tungsten carbide is even harder than shappire glasses used in watches and therefore more scratch resistant. Only downsides are that tungsten is quite heavy but used in a insert it doesn't matter. Tungsten can be quite brittle also but hard knocks are rare for watches, even for tool ones. I quess knock that could shatter tungsten bezel would also shatter shappire glass.
Longines should not have bad bezel action. It is a better higher middle class brand after all.
@@anttitapio4145 Thanks for the info on tungsten. And I don't mean the bezel action when you turn it, I mean when the bezel is still and you try to wobble it when your fingers up and down, it should feel solid and shouldn't move. But the Hydroconquest I held in hand did, I will try find another one to check out. I always test watch bezels like this to see if it feels solidly built.
in short, yes. Aquis is better
