I'm not a sentimental person either but I can see where this guy went wrong in a lot of things. He didn't treat his first wife equally or with respect in many areas. He also listened to the wrong people that he now have regrets about and discarded his first marriage too eagerly.
You can’t put your way of feeling loved upon others’ and say that’s love. Doing so will just put you in this guy’s class.
People have different love languages that we speak and want to hear, see, feel or receive.
Your love language is not the same as hers and your husband is speaking yours to you so you are satisfied. But her love language is affection quality time and gifts. That’s how she feels love and her husband refused to speak to her.

That is the problem with some Hmong men and Hmong people. Some doesn't show any affection... I'm not saying to show it every day, once in awhile.
Some husband like this one even they go with us only fake. When been into an argure they will complain what they have done with us and blame shitty. If anyone got a person like better decide early don't wait. Cuz when we have kids its better stay with than divorce.

Women just want to be loved and appreciated. Words don’t always show it all. You need to show some love and affection towards your wife. Do special things. A lot of Hmong men lack in this category, especially the older generations. All women like a man who know how to treat a women. If most Hmong men could just do that I’m pretty sure their would be less headaches and divorces. Same goes to Hmong women as well.

My husband's oldest brother's mindset is exactly like this guy's that's why he's been divorced twice too. When my husband and I first got married he made fun and criticized my husband for being a good pet and that he's whipped. My husband didn't care he loves me and we'll be celebrating our 18 yrs together this year. Some advice to the men, when you help your wife around the house that doesn't make you less of a man, it actually turns us women on. It's really attractive when a man cooks and clean. Showering her with gifts and flowers is a plus. So please appreciate her and value her or else it will be too late like this guy's life here. Take care.

He needs to read the Love Languages. Even though my love language isn't gifts, I still appreciate them and it's super exciting to receive flowers out of the blue. My ex was a big learning experience, no romance, no appreciation, no gifts.. just a stagnant marriage with many lackings and a wasted 17 years. My soon-to-be husband is everything that my ex would not be. Learn your love languages and communicate. Communicate if you want all of the above or learn what makes eachother feel loved. It's not just gifts for some, it may be acts of service or physical touch, whatever it is, just openly communicate.

Typical of many Hmong men. I guess many of them never learn. Plus what's up with having so many kids? I would've thought the kids he has with his first wife would've been enough. I'm not against having children, just break my heart that there are 2 sets of children with broken homes. To the Hmong men, if your wife desires to celebrate special days, please do it for them. Brother your first wife was wrong in comparing her relationship with others but you were also wrong in not listening to the signs. If you invested your time and showed some love and attention to your wife she would not envied her sister-in-law. Also remember that no matter how long you are married you should continue to work on your relationship. Showing love does not mean you have to buy expensive things. It’s the time that you spend and effort you put in to show you love and appreciate your spouse. It can be as simple as saying I love you, writing a loving message, or just saying thanks when your spouse does something nice.
