Thanks for the info on speech. My story is to long to go into detail. My dentures were way to thick and I took it upon myself to start on the upper as to thinning out with a dremel-sand paper. Did the outer wall, ridge line and palette area to where they feel ok. Did a densure fit reline and did wonders for me. Got perfect suction. No adhesive needed. Just my speech as to a lisp on the s sound. I'm just wondering if I should do more sanding in the pallete area as to where my tongue has more room. Anyway Thanks Greg.
I got a full bottom denture 5 years ago. I found singing in the car really helpful for getting used to having h the denture in my mouth. Thanks for the tips. I’m having my procedure in a few weeks for the upper. Btw you look really attractive 💋
I am 49 and getting ready to get dentures or snap on dentures, I haven't decided yet. I appreciate your videos, I sing a lot at church so there is a little bit of hesitance in dentures, but I have a lot of badddd teeth and they have been bad for a very long time. Thanks again, and you look great! :)
Hi Carolyn I know these videos are now quite a while ago so u prob won t see this ,, I am in the uk ,and have just had 4 implants put in on 13 Dec 2018 ,after wearing a partial denture for 20 years from a fairly young age , means I had a hell of a lot of bone loss ,but have found a brilliant dentist who found a way of doing implants without bone grafting ,i was nt able Cos of that tho to have all on four but can have the horseshoe clip on ones , which tbh I prefer as u can take out still and clean more throughly ,I am four weeks on now from surgery , feeling great ,have a temp full denture which was relined today ,so currently feel like I have drunk false nail adhesive lol ,but before I had it done and since I have watched your videos , I just wanna say that they have kept me going and kept me positive thru all the stages , I can now eat almost anything ,and not lisping as much ,the gag reflex went by day 2 , tho worn a partial for years a full one took a bit of getting used to , but pos easier for me as was already used to a plate ,but smaller , only thing I would say is ,when I had my extractions 20 years ago I was sedated , this time round , I had the remaining teeth pulled , and the implants placed , and I chose no sedation as I needed to drive home , I got thru it and it took about an hour and a half , but I would advise sedation specially if u r really nervous , the drilling and banging was something else ,but after the pain was barely noticeable , I went food shopping four hours later ,for custard and mash lol I get the clip ons in March 2019 it’s now jan ,it’s going fast , I can t wait to get the new teeth , but tbh , the denture is nt as bad as I thought it would be and looks really nice , even tho the cost has virtually bank rupted me , how many years since u got dentures , please do an update ,I love your vids , they have kept me positive ,
I went back after 3 day's to work and that was 6 months ago and no temp teeth I've been gummy lady and my speech is perfect with out teeth my dentist is wowed! So great my speech will hopefully not fail me in a week I finally get my permanent dentures. 🙂
Beach Chick what do you do to get the goop out of your mouth once you take them out.. Like for the night? I may have put on too much fixodent??? lol I think.. Is it just a constant rinse of water or is there something I'm missing? Nobody mentioned this part.
You stayed focused for the first 5 and 1/2 minutes! I still have some issues with a few letters, but people can understand me now, but with the work, I had my extractions and immediate denture done on a Tuesday and had to go back on Saturday, just enough time to get past the day 3 swelling.
Hahahaa I made it that long?? That's gotta be a record :D I also went back on Day 4 and it was fine but it wasn't an 8 hour shift in an office either.. I am lucky enough to work outside with dogs who don't care what I look or sound like as long as I'm rockin the treats and love LOL
Are a trainer? Totally unrelated question, since I heard you mention Dentures A New Smile, I went over there and signed up...did it take long before your membership was approved? Ive been waiting a few days but Im still pending.
I actually like the way my dentures look, they look a bit crooked but they make my fangs stand out more.. My biggest problem is speech. Since I don't get to practice speaking in them, I rarely talk if not at all. Especially in English.
It's been three weeks and I speak like I have a huge ball of wax shoved into my mouth. Hate the feeling of the dentures on the roof of my mouth. I'm amazed at others who speak well so quickly! Is there a trick? Any tips?
IPrayHeComesQuickly I am 76 hours out and have to make a lot of effort to speak. I think it's because I didn't really open my mouth before when speaking so that ppl couldn't see my teeth.
Hi Ouida-I practiced counting out loud 20-90 and back again until there was an improvement. Its still an adjustment. I just had my first soft reline which helped, but again, it's an adjustment. Also, I really enjoyed smoothies and protein shakes while in the immediate stages of healing. I just came from my first session with my photographer and I am learning to smile now. As I am preparing to launch my business and needed some professional pics taken. haha I agree, I didn't open my mouth very wide either before and now that's all changing. :D It's amazing how quickly the transformation was-looking back. Feel better!!
Debbie Murphy I was wondering (its been 2 yrs) if you ever settled into them? Did it take just getting used to them? I'm having the same problem. I wasn't without teeth for that long so it wasn't that I was use to being with out. Of course putting some in is going to look a little different but I don't even look like I did when I had teeth. My sets were made way too big. I been going back everyother day to the dentist office as a sit in just to get them cut a little more here, a little more there, now they're starting to sit in my mouth a little better and my bite is looking a little more like me. Is this or was this similar to your story? And how long did it take to get completely used to them.???

I practiced counting from 60-79 out loud over and over and it really helped. Sounds silly but trust me it helps.
I will try this cause my partial is giving me the business.
Big help, thank you so much. Before I had my teeth out, I watched your videos and it helped and encourage me to follow thru.

You are "no problem woman". Most women can only complain but not you. Still smiling and looking beautiful!!!
Well I sure can't complain, I haven't been this happy in years :D Lots to smile about! Thank you :)

mateo sanchez try a clean dry washcloth. Also Seabond cushions along with fixodent makes it so you don’t have to clean it off. 🙂
I seen where another girl, who had full extractions and dentures in the same day, say that she practiced speech by singing with the radio.

No I'm a pet sitter :) And yes it might take a couple days but I'll be glad to check with Pam and make sure she's seen it!
Apparently you work miracles lol...two minutes after I asked that, it was approved!
Sweet! Looking forward to seeing you on there!

Your tips are real helpful, they don't tell you any of this.

It's been a month and I'm still lisping. It's so embarrassing. I'll try talking to my dog more and sing in the car.
What forum are you referring to ?
Yes the speech is weird, it's mind over matter, you have to visualise it, and be brave 😂
what did you mean by tack down?
And speak loudly and as clear as possible
Nope..waiting six months
For healing to.come right..then dentures. .
I'm getting used to my new teeth upper and lower
I can't talk at all. They are so thick even after adjustments
That's my issue. I feel something needs adjusted. It's not any better after a week
Your in my home city Virginia beach

How did you end up. I’m on day one
Speak clearly after day 1 or 2!!!! that is an out right lie. You should be ashamed of yourself.
