- The coupe-like SUV was belittled as a side-show a decade ago but how times have changed. The latest German-designed machines have more appealing visuals and in the case of the Audi SQ8 and Porsche Cayenne Coupe S, they have seriously capable powertrains and chassis setups.
Yep, these cars are seriously entertaining to drive and the Porsche in particular is an absolute weapon in the corners. Its 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine sounds and feels immense - do you even need a V8 anymore? Well, the Audi SQ8 has a 4.0-litre triple turbo diesel V8 that creates an altogether different driving experience.

SQ-8 tuned 650-HP, the air suspension is sublime, SQ-8 came home yesterday!! We absolutely love it!!!
Sq8 for me, better value in terms of options at the same price. A lot of upset Porsche fans here but people seem to forget after all they’re from the same umbrella academy lol

I’d be thrilled to have either in the driveway but given the closeness of the purchase price I’d go with the Porsche I think but I’d have to test them for myself first though.

I heard Porsche is better and then he takes the Audi. I’ve owned both, but my Audi was an a6 and Porsche cayenne still handles way better.

SQ8 has more power and torque, why is it impressive to come close to cayenne s. Better comp would be GTS V8
Should have been a Cayenne GTS or Turbo instead because they have a V8 just like SQ8.

Porsche cayane coupe gts cost about 160000€ well equiped, the sq8 cost abput 155000€ where is you price gap?, The Porsche can have every tech you need, from asistant systems, to head up display and gadgets, guys what are you talking about, the cayane has a sporty interior and drives bilion times better like the the sq8,
@@stefanmolnar4345 did you see the .com.au in the name? The reviewer is in Australia. And here in Australia, the SQ8 starts from AUD$166500, and the Cayenne GTS Coupe starts from AUD197800. That's already a AUD$30k price difference. With the exception of the Dynamic package on the Audi, there's more or less nothing else to be ticked as an option for the SQ8. The same can't be said about the Porsche. So yes, if you tried to equipped the two car similarly, without a doubt there would be a massive price parity if you tried to compared the two here in Australia.

A Porsche will be always in every country more expensive than equivalent audi, merc or bmw.
In my country in EU audi SQ8 well equiped 150000 € , the prosche 160000 €
Petrol SQ8 gets a 4 liter 500 hp and 568 torque numbers. Q8 and even the performance SQ8 is aimed more at a luxury, comfort, a bit more isolated ride. I'd never say anything bad about a Porsche, as its cars are made so that they are a standard for others. However, I find the looks of the Cayenne bland and neutral ever since the 955 (2004-2006) and 957 (2008-2010) models went away. It is subjective, I know. However, the look of the SQ8 is very imposing and dynamic at the same time. No offense to the East Asian automakers, but Cayenne looks somewhat Korean and Japanese, not as German as it used to (the brave and successful Cayenne's of the 2004-2010 excepting).

Try comparing the v8 model of porsche, then you might not feel as sure as now! And SUV is for power and driving pleasure, if you want luxury and other things, go buy a sedan!
They are just trying to compare models within the same price range. If you're talking about the V8 Cayenne, then you would have to compare it with the RS Q8 for it to be within the same price range

Biggest cap ever you probably never owned one of them. Audi has basically same handling as Porsche.
They are very similar. I tried both.
My Cayenne "S" arrives next month. Never heard of the SQ8 until AFTER I ordered my Porsche. I now see lots of positive reviews for the SQ8 and it clearly offers more value than the Cayenne. Even my 6 cylinder Porsche is $2K more expensive than a fully equipped SQ8--which comes with a V8. Too late now. I see very few SQ8 and can't even find one on a dealer's lot. I got a 5% discount on the Porsche. Not sure I would get the same on the Audi.
My Porsche shipped with one missing microchip, and I hear Audi has had chip shortages too. I am not a total Audi fan as I turned in my diesel A6 as a trade in after the alternator failed on a recent driving trip. I am putting all my marbles in a Porsche basket. Hope I made the right decision.
