I was an International truck driver for 26 years and spent a lot of time driving in Spain, and I had no problems at all. Just use your common sense and keep your eyes open.

The danger in roundabouts is not the one driving in the outer lane, because you must get out from the outside lane. The problem is that people exit from the inside, when you must only exit from the right one.

Whats the point of a inside lane then. Just make all roundabouts single lane then

I do spend a lot of time a year, driving new cars (1-2 years old) in Spain, and have never been approached like here on this video. .
Common sense to be used in the roundabouts, and the spanish drivers are very pleasant and patient. There are people going fast, there are people going slow, but I have never seen anyone raging for anything.
None of the examples does really suit the South and South East region of Spain as far as I was driving (well beyond thousands of kms). However the video in nature is entertaining and good

I'll be driving in Lanzarote in June for my first time on continental roads. I noticed last time I went people went all the way around a roundabout on the outside lane!
That's unimaginable in England (tho some pricks will do it to beat the queue sometimes) also noticed nearly every car had a dent or scratches and this video explains why. Some good points were made, here's hoping I don't crash!!

craigt1981 The reason many Spanish cars have dents or scratches is the very tight corners in some villages/towns.

+craigt1981 sorry, I know what you meant but I found your comment funny, I just read that your first time on continental roads was in another island farther away from the continent than UK and geographically (not politically nor geologically) in another continent (Africa).
P.S. The dents and scratches are usually due to parking incidents... we use to joke about moving columns at parkings, but the driving style is very different from region to region, even more if you compare the islands with the mainland as they don't usually share traffic.

I'm Spanish, a couple of years ago I went to Scotland, and I really think that they drive much worse than us. Seriously.

Lol filmed live in Sabi, I've lived here for 7 years now and just found this vid. The sequence on roundabouts should come with every hire car from Malaga airport.
I drive professionally for a transfer company and, once this virus allows us to go back to work, will employ a dash cam purely for entertainment purposes. It's amazing some of the sights you see, when you spend each working day on the road.

Theres no slip road at the start since hes joining a road with a 60 km/h speed limit, (+- 37 mph (you can see it after every incorparation he crosses)).

I don't understand why the British complain about Spanish drivers? I have found that the Brits drive like twats, e:g why do slow drivers hog the second lane of a motorway causing some one to speed on the third lane to over take them? Why is there so much road rage? Why do so many British drivers tail gate? Before you start commenting on other nationalities driving skills take a good look at our fatalities on uk roads.
I have driven in Spain on several trips and I have found my journeys very ple

I've been living in London and the driving was like in the 3rd world., awful, people rude, with no respect, uncivilized. In Spain they don't drive like this guy saids and he doesn't know how to drive, in fact he is driving like they do in uk hahahahaha!!!

But then again... we don’t know for sure if the driver is a local.
Sooo many British here In Andalusia 🤪

this is the road between sabinillas and torreguadiaro where i go every day and the worse drivers are from gibraltar, they seems to be out of law when they come to spain, i see it every day.

  • @christiankorberg8940
    @christiankorberg8940 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

As for advice this video was awful. ONE way of breaking the law in Spain is to drive through a roundabout using the inner file and exit the roundabout on your left (e.g. at around 4.40). Don't try try this on the road (or at home lol). And when exiting you must use blinkers. Some other misleading instructions too but never mind...

  • @johngeorgesmith719

Why do you give way on motorway entrances as if they were stop signs, and no one is even coming? Surely the basics of driving are knowing the difference between giving way and STOP?

Don’t you think you went a bit too far with the title? I mean seriously show some respect. And if you really wanna show driving in Spain then go to a road that has more traffic and is larger and new. And bumpers are used anywhere you go......
