Hey Chris. Anyone who has farmed knows breakdowns are part of farming. It’s difficult to schedule a breakdown. You do a great job working with old gear and keeping it rolling. I watch your channel because of you older equipment and enjoy your tool work. To be honest almost anyone can farm with new gear, it takes patience to coax older gear along each day. You do a great job, be encouraged. 👍😁
The worst thing about new machines breaking is most of the time you have to spend 4 times the amount to fix it as you have to call out a dealer on lots of the parts that break

As far as I'm concerned you calculated two lines short. In other words, darned good. You rock Chris. I'M old and have worked all my life and been in companies with little money and others with money to burn. You are under different constraints both ways. I have been up 115ft early in the morning pinned to the side of a vessel with #9 wire, wind blowing, scared, praying, and trying to get feeling in my hands to finish the job before light with the boss afraid to climb up on the staging and getting her done.
You do a great job. You keep everything working on your family farm. It is never easy when you have used equipment. Keep up the good work. And don’t listen to the arm chair quarterbacks. Most of them have never got off the couch.

Sorry about the power shaft. Things break. Aint a farmer been born that can stop it from happening. And if you have to use older equipment, it's gonna happen more. So don't fret. I'd be interested to see what the blower housing and fans look like when you get working on it!

things do breakbdown at farms, seen things broke, have helped fix them at family farm. older usually more due weardown and stress during the years. we currently were changing bearing to clayson m122 combine (1971 i think its manufacture year) and somewhat 20 000 hours clocked jd 3140 (i think it was made 1987 if i am not wrong) jd needs some checking cos its turbocharged and aging. keep your spirits up, yours- jere

For your diesel tank in the back of the truck, have you considered wiring to a 7 pin trailer plug? No need to pop the hood every time. Just hook constant 12v and ground up.
So far, broke my rake twice, baler 4 times, destroyed my bush hog, and my main tractor tractor lost a main hydraulic hose! If you are not breaking shit, you ain't doing shit!
there should be a fusible link somewhere near the solenoid that will cause the alternator not to charge had this problem with a ford once a real pain figuring it out but simple to fix

is good when ya camera is head mounted then people can see how allert a farmer has to be and they can see how quick things can go from perfect to tragic if you miss seeing even the smallest detail.

Just think of the money you are saving by running an older self propelled chopper and having a parts machine. I know someone near us who ran pull types for ever and near the end he had three junk choppers in rotation to keep something running.
I don't know about everyone else but I'm not a hater. But have a hard time watching you cut corners on repairs when you know what it needs from last go around. Nothing wrong with old stuff but it needs to be in better shape beginning next year than finishing last year.
