Thats true, Joan Collins and Linda Evans as well refused to have a guest appeareance on The Colbys because they felt it makes their own show Dynasty weak. Thats why Alexis and Krystle didnt even attend the wedding of Jeff and Fallon (officially their plane couldnt start due to bad weather... ^^).
It seemed like Diahann’s character found a real purpose on the second season of the Colbys, like she was going to switch shows, lol. The real black and white striped building for Titanium Records’ exterior was remodeled about 7 years ago, too. Its on Melrose and LaCienega.
I love The Colbys so much. I will forever wonder what it would be like if it lasted 3 years, or if seasons 1-2 were better. Since we see Sable be the empress of the world at first, only having the brightest of futures ahead of her. And then we see her lose everything dear to her, piece by piece. I'd imagine the most interesting road for the series to take would be to focus on the complete ruination of Sable Colby. She would continue losing. Jason would dump Frankie and return to the sucker Sable, awaiting him with prostrated arms. But then Frankie would beckon her finger at him, and he would betray Sable another time. Sable would make a mistake and make Zach furious at her. So eventually Zach would betray her too and leave her in the mud. Miles WOULD kill someone and go to prison. Monica would get drunk, crash some other vehicle and go to prison too. Bliss would join a circus and go missing. Manipulated by Zach and other people, Sable would try and use her assets to ruin Jason. Together these people will ruin him, but drag Sable down along with him. Sable will lose all her money - will spend it all to ruin Jason. She'll become a hobo, without a spare dollar to buy a meal. The woman who started as an empress, would become homeless at some point. The series that started with her absolute happiness, would at some point put her in absolute misery. All these losses would make her go insane. But she will continue plotting all sorts of things to get back on her feet, and will succeed in various ways, but it would cost her her soul. Every character left would end up feeling dirty and spent. Stephanie Beacham would have the time of her life acting all sorts of dramatic scenes like that. Oh how much I wish this lasted 1 more year.
Not sure I'd agree with you this. Sable was a fighter, a victim and a survivor. Keep in mind from how well she handled herself fighting against another vixeness with her cousin Alexis all while living in and maintaining her new hotel. Besides that Sable is glamorous! And nobody wants to see her end up looking like Rosanne.

So at some point she would be in the dirt, but then develop her strength and bounce back on her own merits. And then maybe Jason would bounce back too, and then Sable and Jason would have a tycoon battle in which she both wants him back and also wants him destroyed, just like Alexis and Blake. I personally would really like to see some incredible character development with Sable, where in the end she's a complete different person than who she started as. Stephanie could SO pull it off. But the flaw, of course, is that The Colbys, like all Aaron Spelling stuff, was a dumb series, and they couldn't have pulled off good writing of any kind. Aaron Spelling productions and good writing don't exist in the same universe, dumb popcorn entertainment is the best they could have ever pulled. But one can dream!
What is wrong with Chuck Heston's legs? When he's standing in the foyer of their home, it's like his two knees are touching and his feet are spread out. Its very distracting.
Better "what's wrong with his legs" question is how he's not able to catch Sable when it looks like he's only a couple of strides behind her at 1:45, but further away when she "just makes it" into her boudoir.
The Colby mansion made the Carrrington one look ill. It was also a real home (owned by Barron Hilton at the time). It alwasy looked like The Colbys were better off finasncially based on the home and the company. Even the Colby Enterprises sets looked way better then Colbyco and or Denver Carrington

I think this show was so much better than Dynasty. I'd rather watch Sable than Alexis. Joan Collins' voice is so strident and irritating. She's either screeching or whispering trying to sound sexy.

He's was always like that. Some of his movies you see him running like that. I heard he had some kind of polio as kid or something.
He's what used to be called "knocked kneed", meaning his knees touch. It's like the opposite of being bow legged.
