Synopsis:-
Tiwa an ethnic group or an indigenous tribe inhabiting state of Assam. they are recognised as the schedule tribe within the state of Assam. they are known as Lalung in assamese history colonial literature or in the constitution of India. Tiwa in Assam, they are mostly lives in western areas of Karbi Anglong district. This part of areas fully covered by hills. Their main occupation is farming, they practice slash-an-burn agriculture or jhum cultivation. Rice is their major crop or ginger, chillies, turmeric, etc. are also grown by this tribe. Tiwa tribe also enjoy drinking local rice bear is also use in their rituals.
