  • What is the best fertilizer for Bougainvillea and how to get maximum flowers on Bougainvillea plant? Here in this video, I have revealed how I fertilize my Bougainvillea plants and how do I make my Bougainvillea plants more bushy. I have many Bougainvillea plants and most of them are doing really great. For all of my plants, I try to fertilize the similar way and so far it has been working well.
    Please note, flowering just doesn't depend on the fertilizer. You can use any fertilizer but to get maximum blooms in Bougainvillea, you would need to do few things very carefully. For example, your plant should get required amount of direct sunlight, you should not water it too much, prune it to make more bushy etc. Anyway, you don't have to worry about anything, I have revealed everything including my secrets. So, if your Bougainvillea plant is not blooming or if you are not getting more flowers on your plant, then please follow them and I am 100% sure that you would get similar or even better results.
    Thank you very much for watching :-) If you have any questions, please let me know and I would get back ASAP! Thank you :-)

      @Anjita Chowdhury, Sure, you can! Actually NPK is all that any plants need..but I have almost stopped using Chemical Fertilizers and so provided Organic solutions that works even better than Chemical. But still, when I am running out of time, I use Chemicals as well as it's easy and quick. Along with the fertilizers, please try to provide maximum amount of Sunlight to your plants as Bougainvillea need lots of direct sunlight to bloom well. Good luck!

    Propagated bogainvillae thru cutting technique wherein it is growing under a plastic bag to retain moisture . At first, leaves comes out but on its 2nd week, I notilced that it has this yellow dots on the branches . Then few days later the leaves turns black ..I tried to experiment by removing the plastic bag , it dries the yellow spot on the branches but the leaves curl and later fall off..now Im placing them again under plastic bag and leaves comes back but im worried that it will return again, need your suggestion, thank you

      @zahid ghumra, Sorry for making you to wait, have quite a few comments in queue and answering one by one. Bougainvillea grows in any kind of soil..but if you want them to grow fast, then please use - 50% normal garden soil (try to avoid sandy soil) + 25% Sand and 25% either Vermicompost or composted cow dung manure. Instead of Sand, Cocopeat can be used as well but they don't grow fast. Good luck :-)

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Raina Modak, Glad to know it was helpful and thank you so much for your feedback, appreciate it. Tissue cultured - It's a propagation method and mostly done on lab. It's done mainly to product the exact copies of plants that produce particularly good flowers, fruits, or have other desirable traits. Means, obviously the quality of the Mother plant is great one and the new plants that are produced, would have similar habit like mother - more flowers :-) Most of the plants that you can see on TH-cam (specially the one blooming well) are either Tissue cultured or Bonsai :-)
      In Bonsai, the plant itself is a very old plant. With the new growths, it also produces lots of new flowers and looks so cute :-)
      How to Identify - It would be much better to ask the Nursery people directly for this as it's highly depend on the Mother plant. So, what I can see in my place, might be different in your place. But still, Tissue cultured variety looks much more bushier with more blooms :-) They don't want to grow like a vine, whereas normal one try to grow like a vine :-) Thank you once again and if you have any questions, plz let me know :-)

    Dada, thanks for the informative video. Is the white one shown in the video , tissue cultured. And how to know the difference between a local variety and a tissue cultured, because sometimes the nursery people says that most are hybrid or tissue cultured whereas later it appears to be a local variety. This has happened to me.

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @tesha baruah, You are most welcome and thank you for watching :-) Yeah, the white one is tissue cultured. You are right..some nursery people try to do that..but anyway, we can find out which one is tissue cultured by looking at the plants. These look more bushy and usually have more branches. However, on the normal variety, doesn't look more bushy and usually has long branches (but we don't see that in nurseries because they prune them)
      Another way - take a look at the base of the plant. If it looks much thicker, most likely tissue cultured. In nurseries, they don't keep the local variety for long time and those are grown from cuttings. Whenever they do, they grow from cuttings which are almost like a pencil width or max double.
      I hope now you would be able to identify them. If you want to buy tissue cultured, always avoid buying plants that have only 2-3 growing stems and flowers are there only on those stems. No matter what they tell them like either tissue cultured or bonsai, 99% chance is there that they aren't. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you :-)

      @teshabaruah5201 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, Dada. Actually I had bought a white bougainvillea like the one shown in the video, last week Monday. The nursery owner told that it was a tissue cultured. But about the blooms they told that since it is rainy reason, so blooms are less. I repoted it in the morning, but should I prune it as there are no flowers now?? Or should I do some pinching?? Please suggest. Actually I was badly deceived at another nursery when I bought a bougainvillea just 2days before lockdown.
