The pizza is always really good there and they usually have a line out the door. Part of that is because the pizza is really good and part of it is because there is nothing else to do in CT.

If Dave knew even the slightest bit about making pizza then his reviews would actually have a bit of credibility. At the moment he just likes what he likes and can't describe it. If the owner is a character the score goes up. Everybody knows the rules, Dave is the furthest from a professional there is.

Taste fantastic although one time I got it, I had a few bites with what seems like sand in it when I bit down. I stick to cheese or pepp now, but Pepe’s is fantastic
Its probably 20 plus for a small clam pizza but still the best, as long as they dont burn it which happens ofter

Oh how I love Pepe’s, early 2000s we also used to go to “the Spot” if the line was too long , we had friends in both but the spot was more cozy and they’d always have a seat for us. same pizza . Just like a little whole in the wall in the parking lot 😂 Something I’m honestly proud to say I experienced i haven’t had an experience that matched it yet
I live 15 minutes from Pepe's New Haven. That is one of the main reasons moving to CT was totally worth it.
This and Louie’s Lunch were the TWO main reasons I moved to CT lmao

New Haven is his favorite style and it's not even close. Sally's in New Haven is his all-time favorite.

frank pepe's in chestnut hill ma is WAY more worth it than going into boston for regina's. pepe's is tighter and crispier than regina's and you get a whole mall parking lot versus parking in the north end.

Frank is one of the best hosts out there. And Frank Pepe's white clam pizza is out of this world good.
This pizza is as close to italian pizza as you can get. I went to ROME ITALY in 2022 and i can confirm this. Go to a PEPEs if you can.
Also there are pizza shops in the bronx that are even better. Check THREE BOYS PIZZA on Burke AVE IN THE BRONX

ordered a white clam and a red sauce while taking the ferry over from Long Island, picked them up and ate it on the street with my youngest kid. father and son moment up there with having F-15s take off over our car on the highway.

I lived in East Haven Connecticut on main Street I would travel 90 mi an hour over the q bridge to Pepe's Pizza and back home before that pie got cold I remember meeting Gary then before I moved to Texas they don't have pizza down here in Texas like New Haven I miss my pizza and my pride whole belly clams I may be coming home soon!!!
They have a location in DC, which I tried, apprehensively, given they aren't the original. Should have listened to my gut feeling because it was really disappointing. Crust was stiff and hard. Eating it with the fold like Frank did? Impossible. Flavor was very one-dimensional. Not sure I'll ever get out to New Haven, but it has to be better than what I got.
There's no way that Frank's white clam pizza is the best in America. It really is a unique and tasty pie though, so don't let this comment dissuade you from making the trek out there to try it. Also, the birch soda in CT (on the menu at Pepe's) is very good.
