No one gets upset when people refer to god as a man or use he him pronouns, but god forbid a woman wants to empower other women. Why would god have a gender, isn’t god in everything, so why not a woman too?

I don’t think you understand it at all. It’s not just about sex. It’s about bringing life to the world which women do. The open legs at the end aren’t necessarily sexual. It’s showing the birth of light to the world. Also, there’s nothing wrong with believing that women should be equal to men. That’s why she recreated art work with women instead of men. ( The thinker, the creation of Adam,etc) It’s about gaining respect and literally “shattering the glass ceiling.” Women are technically a minority due to less respect, privileges and power than a white man. The lyrics can be seen both ways, sexuality and power. “I’m telling you the way I like it, how I want it.” Not just in the bedroom but in the workplace, etc. Women can “run the world” as well as men is how I see this video.
I totally agree with the aspect of feminism empowering women and reassuring that women are just as respected and recognized as men. I completely agree with that. But as I stated in another comment, modern feminism isn’t the same as it used to be. Woman empowerment is getting lost in translation. Women over-sexualizing themselves is becoming “empowering” when in reality it’s not empowering anyone. It’s just creating a reputation for showing too much skin. I respect anyone who has a different opinion than me, I do. I’m not here to stir the pot or start drama. I think religion and embracing womanhood are not incompatible. She kept saying in the video “as a Christian it’s hard” but I don’t think the same way. I’m Orthodox, which as its name suggests is more traditional than say, Protestants (which I’m assuming she is) but my anatomy doesn’t make me queasy or uncomfortable. Her cringing at the allusions to womanly parts in the video makes me think of how we all would, as young kids, act grossed out or laugh at the anatomy lessons in heath class. I suspect it was the environment she was raised in...judging by her accent she is American, and we all know that the USA is one of the prudish countries in the world, where (in some parts) accepting that people can and do have sex for reasons other than procreation is taboo. Quite the opposite of my country, Greece, which is apparently ranked the most sexually active country in the world, even ahead of the Brazilians 😂 😂.

She's basically talking about how woman should be treated equally as men, not superior. Max Iacavazzi True feminism isn't what mainstream media has painted it to be. Women are clearly equal to men but we have different roles. And God defines what these complimentary roles are. Feminism isn't believing that it's a given that you MUST believe everywoman should be able to legally kill her unborn child, or believe that all women are somehow continuously being oppressed in the workplace, or that women shouldn't be housewives, and a more fitting role would be a masculine military, or workforce material. True feminism is an embrace of the complimentary roles, abilities, and stature that God has given us. Plain and simple. All of this added fluff is of another agenda.

It’s weird because I’m Christian and I’m nowhere near conservative when it comes to sex but I still understand how sacred it is. As a child I was raised Christian but my parents always taught me to not be ashamed of my female body parts and that they’re very valuable and important so don’t let anyone take advantage of them without you wanting them to and feel free to talk about sex to them because they are open to talking about it. I think she's not saying that female should show their body to empower women. She's showing her body, her own body, and it means it's okay to show your body off just like men do. Women don't need to expose their body, but they can if they want to. I like your reaction though, you are basically like most of my Christian friends. I haven’t seen any of the hate comments on this video, the comments I have seen are just other people sharing their opinions in a respectful way and I think most people just want to set the record straight that when you said Arianna is a feminist and therefore believes women are superior that it was incorrect since feminism is a movement for equality for both men and women. Men and women do not have equal opportunities and there are many unfair stigmas put on both sexes. Though more often than not the women are given the shorter end of the stick. For example in my workplace the women have to do all the cleaning and the boys can get away with not dong it. Men’s opinions are often taken more seriously than a women’s. Women are continuously harassed or abused by men, yes men can be harassed and abused by women too but the instances of them being targeted are much less common. Just yesterday I was walking home when a bunch of lads driving past shouted out their car windows at me. How often does that happen to men ? When I was at a teen disco at age 13 a boy snuck up behind me and stuck his finger up my bum. Nowadays if I go on a night out it is very unlikely that I will make it through the night without having my bum pinched by some random guy. I was pressured by a boyfriend into doing things that I wasn’t comfortable doing at a very young age and my mum and grandmother were both sexually assaulted. I can’t even walk home from work at night without coming up with strategies in my head for how to escape if a man tries to attack or kidnap me.
I’m sorry that those things have happened to you. I have experienced some pretty dark times in my life because a guy thought he had some sort of power over me. So I get it. And as far as hate comments go, you don’t see many because I’ve had to delete them and block the people from my channel. It’s gone from people hating on my beliefs and me stating I’m “not a feminist” (which, yes, I should have clarified I was referring to radical feminism) to people telling me to kill myself because they don’t think I’m telling the truth about my views or beliefs.... pretty messed up , I’d say.

I’ve pondered the same thing. And it’s been weighing on my heart as I listen to the lyrics and try to analyze them. That’s a tough one. God ultimately looks at the heart and I honestly feel that if we still believe in what the Word says about God the father & don’t let a song change our view of that I don’t see a problem? Like i said, I don’t think the lyrics or the song itself were written to bash God. I more-so was a little disturbed by the video.
I don't understand why so many Christians can't vocalize words like "vagina" and "masturbation" and "sexual".... they are descriptive, accurate parts of an adult vocabulary. At the very least, you must acknowledge that god designed sex to be pleasurable and designed vaginas to birth his children, so you should say 'sex' with gratitude and 'vagina' with pride. Certainly, neither word should invoke shame or be difficult to say.

I don’t think you understand it at all. It’s not just about sex. It’s about bringing life to the world which women do. The open legs at the end aren’t necessarily sexual. It’s showing the birth of light to the world. Also, there’s nothing wrong with believing that women should be equal to men. That’s why she recreated art work with women instead of men. ( The thinker, the creation of Adam,etc) It’s about gaining respect and literally “shattering the glass ceiling.” Women are technically a minority due to less respect, privileges and power than a white man. The lyrics can be seen both ways, sexuality and power. “I’m telling you the way I like it, how I want it.” Not just in the bedroom but in the workplace, etc. Women can “run the world” as well as men is how I see this video.
I totally agree with the aspect of feminism empowering women and reassuring that women are just as respected and recognized as men. I completely agree with that. But as I stated in another comment, modern feminism isn’t the same as it used to be. Woman empowerment is getting lost in translation. Women over-sexualizing themselves is becoming “empowering” when in reality it’s not empowering anyone. It’s just creating a reputation for showing too much skin.

I think religion and embracing womanhood are not incompatible. She kept saying in the video “as a Christian it’s hard” but I don’t think the same way. I’m Orthodox, which as its name suggests is more traditional than say, Protestants (which I’m assuming she is) but my anatomy doesn’t make me queasy or uncomfortable.
Her cringing at the allusions to womanly parts in the video makes me think of how we all would, as young kids, act grossed out or laugh at the anatomy lessons in heath class. I suspect it was the environment she was raised in...judging by her accent she is American, and we all know that the USA is one of the prudish countries in the world, where (in some parts) accepting that people can and do have sex for reasons other than procreation is taboo.

Feminism isn't believing that it's a given that you MUST believe everywoman should be able to legally kill her unborn child, or believe that all women are somehow continuously being oppressed in the workplace, or that women shouldn't be housewives, and a more fitting role would be a masculine military, or workforce material.

This song isn’t even her saying that God is a woman. We go to God for happiness and fulfillment and the song is basically saying that she can give her man so much satisfaction that he’ll start to think that God is a woman.
I think she's not saying that female should show their body to empower women. She's showing her body, her own body, and it means it's okay to show your body off just like men do.
Women don't need to expose their body, but they can if they want to.

I haven’t seen any of the hate comments on this video, the comments I have seen are just other people sharing their opinions in a respectful way and I think most people just want to set the record straight that when you said Arianna is a feminist and therefore believes women are superior that it was incorrect since feminism is a movement for equality for both men and women.
Men and women do not have equal opportunities and there are many unfair stigmas put on both sexes. Though more often than not the women are given the shorter end of the stick. For example in my workplace the women have to do all the cleaning and the boys can get away with not dong it. Men’s opinions are often taken more seriously than a women’s. Women are continuously harassed or abused by men, yes men can be harassed and abused by women too but the instances of them being targeted are much less common. Just yesterday I was walking home when a bunch of lads driving past shouted out their car windows at me. How often does that happen to men ?
When I was at a teen disco at age 13 a boy snuck up behind me and stuck his finger up my bum. Nowadays if I go on a night out it is very unlikely that I will make it through the night without having my bum pinched by some random guy. I was pressured by a boyfriend into doing things that I wasn’t comfortable doing at a very young age and my mum and grandmother were both sexually assaulted. I can’t even walk home from work at night without coming up with strategies in my head for how to escape if a man tries to attack or kidnap me.
I’m sorry that those things have happened to you. I have experienced some pretty dark times in my life because a guy thought he had some sort of power over me. So I get it.
And as far as hate comments go, you don’t see many because I’ve had to delete them and block the people from my channel. It’s gone from people hating on my beliefs and me stating I’m “not a feminist” (which, yes, I should have clarified I was referring to radical feminism) to people telling me to kill myself because they don’t think I’m telling the truth about my views or beliefs.... pretty messed up , I’d say.

I’ve pondered the same thing. And it’s been weighing on my heart as I listen to the lyrics and try to analyze them. That’s a tough one. God ultimately looks at the heart and I honestly feel that if we still believe in what the Word says about God the father & don’t let a song change our view of that I don’t see a problem? Like i said, I don’t think the lyrics or the song itself were written to bash God. I more-so was a little disturbed by the video.

I don't understand why so many Christians can't vocalize words like "vagina" and "masturbation" and "sexual".... they are descriptive, accurate parts of an adult vocabulary. At the very least, you must acknowledge that god designed sex to be pleasurable and designed vaginas to birth his children, so you should say 'sex' with gratitude and 'vagina' with pride. Certainly, neither word should invoke shame or be difficult to say.
