      @@bluechipbreakdown I hope that those rankings weren't true or hopefully they can make adjustments before the game comes out.... They had us 15th in the dynasty video and there has been plenty of backlash from experts not just us VOL fans about the ratings... Hopefully they make it right before the game comes out or they have a game update after the first day out lol GBO

    It is funny I was thinking about it earlier today how much I love the way we play offense and that if we did happen to lose CJH I would hope that we find somebody that has a similar style

    • @bluechipbreakdown

      We are in a great spot from that perspective. We have the talent this year to see what Heupel can do, and I think we are about to shock a lot of people!

    We should have been up on Bama 28-7 in that game in the first half

      Ya, we smacked them around in that first half, then the SEC got involved..

  • @bolinfamily

    Even though the points per game dropped dramatically in 2023, our point differential was +11, in 2021 it was only +6. So we have an overall better team. Nico should make the difference in getting our points per game back up. Can’t wait to see him improve game by game.

    • @bluechipbreakdown
      @bluechipbreakdown  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Defense has been improving every season, and now we have a chance to see the best offense Heupel has had in Knoxville. It should mean a big season for us!

  • @LittleRockVol
    @LittleRockVol 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Looking at last year, besides losing Hooker, I think losing Golesh played some part in our losses, but IDK. I love Heupel adapted last year to more of a running offense vs an air raid, and that's always a good sign when you play to your players' strengths. I know we're getting better every year, and this season is going to be really exciting. GBO🍊🍊🍊

    • @etw4life970
      @etw4life970 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They actually didn't adapt to more of a running offense, they actually ran more often in 2022 than 2023. In 2022 they ran 55% of the time, and in 2023 they ran 54% of the time. The difference in the passing game wasn't the frequency of it, but where the passes were going. In 2022 they took way more shots down field and over the middle, while 2023 was a bombardment of sideline passes. Many people blame Milton for this, but there were also injuries at WR and OL, so Milton didn't always have as much time as Hooker, and the WRs weren't winning their matchup as often. Plus with Milton being less willing to run, it all just led to trying to get the ball out as quick as possible

    • @bluechipbreakdown
      @bluechipbreakdown  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great points Debra! This offense does look different without Golesh, and I think year 2 for Halzle will be exponentially better than year 1 was. We find ways to put our roster in the best position to win, and our numbers might surpass 22 this season! Go Vols!!

    • @bluechipbreakdown
      @bluechipbreakdown  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good points! When we talk about runs with a RB, the numbers went up from 22 to 23. This also lead to a higher yards per carry average with a QB that didn't operate this offense on as high of a level as Heupel is used to. I think we do a good job of finding ways to have productivity regardless of the roster, and that's the sign of a good coach!

    I have waited for this video for a while now.😮 JMHO...to me this is only year three for CJH. My reasons..1 He was hired late with only what; two weeks or less left in the recruiting process. Had to hit the portal to fill needs quickly as possible. 2. A new system to be learned as well. With 30 defections ;this was a task within itself. Good thing CJH is a players coach and asked the team what they needed to succeed. 3. Coach surrounded himself with one of if not the best staffs around. So."21" was a wash IMO; but look what happens when you have trust in each other as a team... "22".. Sorry for the lengthy post..just my 2 cents. Another good breakdown Bull and P.... GBO. !!!

    I love CJH and the way he has flipped the whole situation back to positive but he has a knack in his coaching history to lose at least 1 game a year to a team he is not supposed to. I brought this up in the beginning of his hiring at UT. I read it on a stat but don’t remember the reporting entity. Just hadn’t forgotten it. Let’s hope he finally puts it all together even if it’s for 1 year. Praying for more. Thanks for the videos. Love y’all’s content. GB🍊 btw editing to add I wouldn’t want another head coach than CJH. So don’t get it twisted. With him at the helm with our AD. There is not another duo in college 🏈 with their potential.

    There is no need for them to being trying to make these numbers up in house. They should use real ratings from a combo of sources already doing it. Betting services are gonna have the most accurate ratings because they are putting their money where their mouth is over it. EA may be doing this for clickbait, or because they want to hype up certain teams... Being accurate/realistic would be a much better look.

    • @bluechipbreakdown

    Sadly I have to disagree about Smart’s/UGA’s scheme/coaching ability. The studs they have let them run simple concepts at a super efficient rate. Look at our first play last year, and then nothing else, and the year before we were just overwhelmed. I feel like we’ll have a good chance this year even on the road

    • @bluechipbreakdown
      @bluechipbreakdown  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's true that their talent has carried them, but that's my point. They've benefited from having a very easy SEC schedule, and when they play a good team, they have major injuries. We will see how they do this season facing teams that can actually match up with them!

    I'm sick of hearing from UGA fans that Kirby has "figured out" Heupel's offense. He just uses 3 deep-2 under coverage and relies on his pass rush to get home before the coverage breaks down. Everyone would use this against Tennessee if they had UGA's pass rush. It's not some magical formula. You can play fast and loose with scheme if you have all the best athletes. Who'd have thunk it?

    • @derrickjefferson2983
      @derrickjefferson2983 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tn's offense is garbage! That's why the NFL doesn't draft your offensive players high! Gimmick with no NFL upside to it! 💩💩

    • @bluechipbreakdown
      @bluechipbreakdown  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree. That's really all they do there is play basic, fundamental football. Kirby is a good recruiter, but not a great coach on the field. Any time UGA faces a team that can match up with them physically they lose unless the other team has significant injuries.

  • @jclevengerjr
    @jclevengerjr 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Areas where we need to see Heupel and staff improve 1. Road games. His road game record against ranked teams is just horrible. 2. Second half adjustments. The greatest coaches win after halftime. Even if theyre losing. I dont think Heupel has ever come back against a ranked team and won in the 2nd half. And furthermore, we have lost so many games in the 2nd half. I see him stay to a script that isnt working. 3. Player rotation. QB, WR, Secondary. Just not happening. 4. Secondary recruitment and development. Were just not good in either. Time for some serious changes.

    • @bluechipbreakdown
      @bluechipbreakdown  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great points! I think we need to have an analyst or someone new make a 2nd half script for us and try it out to see how it goes. Sometimes it just takes a minor tweak to get things right. I will also say that Heupel has the talent now to succeed at what he likes to do, so that might be enough to get over that hump by itself!

    • @jclevengerjr
      @jclevengerjr 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @bluechipbreakdown gotta change something for sure. Gotta have scheme changes on both sides of the ball. Great coaches make great adjustments and win games it looks like theyre going to lose. Better talent or not, we've jist gotten out coached too many times. I also heard that maybe coach lets them party too much the night before with family and friends as compared to home games. Maybe why they look flat in some road games from the start. Not sure how true that is. An analyst whose sole job is to study for half time adjustments would be a great start. I just think this goes way deeper than talent.
