My precramplsia started at 27 weeks. I was grateful to be sent to the best specialist and I was hospitalized and given steroid shots for my sons lungs. I got the mag to keep from having seizures and was admitted to stay till I had my son. At 29 weeks my BP was off the charts and my doctor said he couldn't let me go any longer. I started pushing and his heart stopped and I was flown down the hall and given a c section and my baby was born very tiny but now is 16 and healthy

The way women’s concerns are dismissed makes me crazy. I’m glad you and your baby are okay.

I can relate. I told my OB my rapid weight gain didn't make sense because I was constantly vomiting and unable to eat. I told my OB that my rheumatologist collected my blood work and my platelets were very low and my OB just said that's normal. I was extremely tired and very swollen and my vision was blurry and the OB said it's because of my "advanced age" and my "excess weight." My OB never mentioned my age, weight, IVF conception, and autoimmune disease put me at a greater risk for pre-eclampsia. I ended up in the ER from a headache so massive that I couldn't function and got diagnosed with severe pre-eclampsia. Nobody mentioned HELLP syndrome but the lab results suggested I had it too. I was stuck in the hospital for many days after delivery.

Wow what a story!! We are undergoing the exact same thing with our daughter and first grandchild. On Saturday last week her OB dismissed her symptoms as go and rest until I see you on Monday.... Well on Sunday her husband had to rush her to hospital at 03h45 which was 45min away with severe pain. They delivered the baby at another hospital at 15h00 that afternoon. Jesse weighed in at 1.930kg. My daughter almost died. Thankfully she's been out of the ICU since yesterday and could hold her baby daughter for the first time, even though only for 15 minutes. Hopefully they'll be discharged within a few days, where we are waiting for them at their home. Thank you for sharing your story. With love from South Africa xxxxx

So glad to hear that she and the baby are both starting to turn the corner! It's an extremely scary situation for all of the loved ones around a mom. We're so glad that you were able to connect with us, and if your daughter has any followup questions, feel free to send her our way! It's why we are here.

My blood pressure is usually 98/62 and now it’s at 128 and I’m 25 weeks pregnant. I keep having headaches and right side pain and blurry vision but they keep telling me it’s normal and I really don’t think it is me and my boyfriend are scared. I’m so happy you are okay and sharing your story

I’m currently 25 weeks and I’m experiencing the same symptoms. Did you ever hear anything different?

This is exactly what happened to me. 130/90 was " normal" despite me telling them that was really high for me. I kept trying to tell people I was worried about it and then all of the sudden on his birth day I need a c section immediately... he was 5 lbs 1oz and likely wasn't gaining weight because of this issue.

so happy it was a good ending, I gave birth afterr having preeclampsia and baby had died in the womb on November 11 1977. In the hospital they did one minute silence and had me strapped to a stress machine and was told can't find the heartbeat.

I’m going through exactly what you did. My first pregnancy I got preeclampsia and hellp syndrome at 36 weeks but now that I’m pregnant again, I’m 16 weeks and my blood pressure is 135/84 but my normal is like 105/80. My worst fear is that my platelets drop again but so early in my pregnancy that I have to give birth before baby can live outside of me. Any advice is so appreciated 💕

Hello I had a severe case of eclampsia with my first child and a year later I got pregnant with my second. I am now 16 weeks pregnant and having to make a decision to keep her or not before it is too later. I fear for my future and losing myself for my first born. Do you have any recommendations or what you would have done if you knew?
