My Grandmother Nellie Snook Wise at about the turn of the last century (1900) was a teacher at Olive Branch. One day she saw it would rain that night so she told the students, "don't get your feet wet or muddy coming to school tomorrow. The next morning all the students appeared and were walking on home built Stilts. Also in 1937 my father bought a abandond one-room school house near College Corner Indiana/Ohio in Indiana. Raised the floors 3 feet so it only had a 10 foot ceiling. We had a 2 bedroom, house (about 900sq feet). It is still a home last time I knew. I love your Ohio history in Warren Co. thanks

Great video! You might want to add one more. My aunt and uncle bought the small house at the corner of Edwardsville and Middleboro Rd. When they tried to put nails in the wall and couldn’t because the walls were concrete. They called the realtor and was told it was a school house at one time

There was an addition to Morrow Elementary in the mid 70s, too. My 2nd grade class had one of the new rooms & I think that was the 1st year they were in use. Would have been 1976-77.

Oak Grove school, my mom went there as a girl. Lived up the hill about a mile away. Walked to school when the snow was deep. Grandfather took her in a horse-drawn sleigh. Sis still lives there. Mom up on the hill in Morrow near the last soldier killed in WW2.
