40 years from now i bet they will be looking like that, 80 years u'll have jax arms from mortal kombat, you gonna kick a$$ in the hood, i bet they'll only be available for a special force that requires you to cut off your arm first, you can shoot rockets out of it lol
One of the major problems with any armor suits is how how to cover the creases (for example: fingers, wrists, elbow creases, armpits, neck region, knee creases, ankles, hips.
David, this is Steve, inventor of Armore Fitness. I note that you have a concentric hinge for your elbow. You will have noticed that the arm does not work this way. You need to change this to a 37 degree bicentric hinge to eliminate the pumping that is going on with your model, causing the exoskeleton to move up and down on the forearm.
your channel is definitely worth a sub, people only look at all those big gamers, vloggers, bloggers etc. while the creative channels who probably put more time and effort in making the videos are not so popular
everyone mentions Jax from Mortal Kombat, Genos from one punch man, and Bucky the Winter Soldier from the MCU but no one ever mentions Cable of the X-Force from the 2nd Deadpool movie.
This is awesome! It's really going to help me if I decide to cosplay as Edward Elric when I'm a little bit older, or maybe Alphonse, even if it means dying from carrying too much weight. Worth it! Definitely subscribing.
I gotta say, your videos are wildly entertaining. I recently ordered a pair of steel gauntlets (medieval variety, not one of your products) and I was so disappointed with the quality; as a tinkerer myself, I was blown away by the quality of your work. Instead of ordering anything else, I may just make my very own! Amazing work, liked and subbed, and keep it up. You’ve got serious skill!
if this man can make this by hand just like the guys of older times, trust me someone of more resources, money, and technology is watching this and can advance this. I hope whoever that's watching this and thinking about advancing this recruit this guy. much respect to your work sir. hope you get far with this. I wouldn't doubt there's armor like we see in the games and movies in real life...
Tried twice and messed up. Turns out I'm like 8" taller than you and it really throws off the forearm. I've got the pattern right now, and I cant wait to show you in spring. I'll be working all winter!!
I'd wear it everywhere and actually convince most people that I lost it in some badass fight or something and that I was chosen for like a special program and that some of the wires allow me to feel like a regular arm and then one day show up without the bionic arm and confuse everyone because I have a regular arm.
"Dude, where's you prosthetic arm?" "I upgraded... This one is much better." *some time passes* "Dude you got the cool one back on, what's up with the one that looks real?" "It needed some tweaks..."
I utterly adore your builds and own a few of your templates. But something that I wish we had was static images of the various pieces to help with construction. Not necessarily 'attach this to this,' just some static images of the various pieces from different angles. I personally would find it very helpful, and I'm sure others might as well. Thanks so much for the templates and tutorials! :)
Incredible! To be honest, I've always wanted to actually replace my left arm with an actually bionic arm. I find it interesting how it integrates into the nervous system, and the chance to potentially have a super arm is a pretty cool idea to.
i'm in the hospital for 7 months now, i'm going to amputate my right leg and i'll have to use a prosthetic leg, somehow i found this video while i was searching for prosthetic legs and stuff... this is amazing work and made me think that it is a cool thing to add to a costume for me for halloween... wish i have one of those :(
I can let you in on a cool idea for an invisible latch . This type armor, especially futuristic armor that is not supposed to be seen, as though the robot is seamless. I owned and operated a special effects shop throughout the 80s and 90s contracting to television and movies. I learned a lot of cool tricks, especially when working with other artist like Rick Bakker or Rob Botin. To make the latch, you used a piano hinge, I always preferred aluminum stock. You cut the necessary size you need from the hinge, usually the full length of the joint. Be careful not to cut the hinge pin, you will need that for the latch. We usually put a piano hinge on the opposite side from the latch, but that one had its pin. I would cut the pin for the latch side a few inches longer than the hinge was cut. Then bend a 90 degree turn at the point the pin exits the hinge. That stops it from going in too far and works as a handle to use to pull it out. Oh, I also used to sand a point on the other end of the latch pin, not necessarily a sharp point, just diminished enough to made it glide its way back into the hinge without hanging. You have to replace the pin back into the latch hinge to attach it to the armor. Now you attach both hinges to each side of the armor with whatever medium you like. You can rivet it, glue it or fiberglass it into place. The hinges can be on the inside of the armor if, you want it invisible. It has such a low profile, it has never caused any discomfort with actors or stuntmen who wore our suits. Once the glue has hardened on both sides, the hinges will stay forever lined up perfectly. If you slide out the pin, using the 90, the armor should clamshell open. Place it on the actor, clamshell it around their arm and the hinge joints will line up perfectly and you can slide the pin back in and it will latch that side. Rotate the 90 degree turn on the pin until it is flush with the suit and the effect should be strong, but invisible. I apologize if you all ready knew this technique. I don’t know if anyone else has used it, but I can imagine others thought of it, it’s not rocket science. I learned it on my own, like I did most of the tricks of the trade, so I don’t know how common it may be in use. Great job on the armor. I’m impressed because it’s made from steel. In Hollywood, it would fabricated from vacu-form, fiberglass or some other light weight material, because actors are wimps and believe it or not, so are some of the stunt people. Whine like babies. If you put that steel on some actors, they would bitch from morning until the director calls it a day. There were other reasons. Often they needed several suits, one for the actor, one for the stunt people, which could be several and one for the stand-in. Suits get destroyed in some action scenes, so it’s best to have mold to quickly pull another and just paint it to look metal. I’d love to really do one in metal! i never have. Great job! Keep up the good work.
I never thought about doing a hinge on both sides like that. It's an excellent idea and I will be sure to use it on future builds. I came up with my own invisible latchless system on my Infinity Gauntlet build, but it was more complicated than that. And although a stuntman or actor might complain about the limited articulation of this piece, it actually only weighs about 4 lbs total. It's not heavy at all. But like you said...if they are wimps they will complain anyway haha
Ahhh yes the Fullmetal Alchemist cosplay I've always wanted to make... And yet, I lack the skills to do even the first step. Maybe I'll try this with Eva foam
I just might build myself an Automail arm! I’d of course be doing most of the design on my own, but if you don’t mind, I’d like to use the gauntlet section of your arm.
OMFG!😲 This is amaaaaaazing! Dude, you did a really great job! This is fascinating,- in wish i could do/make it too! Congratulation, that you finished your product- keep Wirkung on your cool ideas! 😎- You should work in an industry, where people develop bionic arms for people, who have no arms or for e.g. no legs-so that you could be the savior for this "disabled" People. keep on moving on!
tool and die maker apprentice: If you lift up at the end of your grinder strokes, you won't put holes in the metal. Gives a more perfect surface, however since this is mostly aesthetic, with a flapper wheel, it might not make a difference . Similar to how you spray paint without putting runs. (in case you didn't)
Have you ever tried salt water etching instead of painting designs on your pieces? It is very easy and can produce beautiful results. I use etching on my blades, I have just gotten into armoring.
Other than the fact that it's a metal arm, no, there's no direct influence from FMA. The muscle structure is based on my own muscles and nothing else. I suppose you could say the knuckles are similar, but it's meant to be original and not a copy of anything that already exists.
Hello David!! you make some kick ass stuff!! Ive never worked with metal before but i want to make this arm out of aluminum. I will try to do some modifications on the forearm. I never got sore wearing it, but I have never worn it for 8 hours at a time. Your arm will sweat more than usual, but will depend on temperature, etc. You can probably use cloth instead of leather, but it will need to be a very sturdy cloth

Cool, thanks for the reply. I'm no metal worker, I would love to be, but I do do some cosplay stuff with EVA Foam. I'm wondering if I could apply these plans with EVA instead. Hmm. If I come up with something, I'll shoot some pictures your way.

If real bionic arms look like that, I wouldn't mind losing my arm.
And the other??
40 years from now i bet they will be looking like that, 80 years u'll have jax arms from mortal kombat, you gonna kick a$$ in the hood, i bet they'll only be available for a special force that requires you to cut off your arm first, you can shoot rockets out of it lol

Prosthetic arms already look like that
Nice one

If I loose my arm make sure to have mines like Bucky's
BRO SAME I WHOULD LOVE THAT
YOU HAVE A METAL ARM?? THAT'S AWESOME DUDE!!
I get that reference
I UNDERSTOOD THAT REFERRENCE
You should do videos where you walk around town and get peoples reactions
I thought it was a prop, but then i saw that you made it out of steel. Thats insane.
I should clarify i mean that i thought it would be made out of some kind of foam and be solely aesthetic
if I ever lose a limb, please make my prosthetic. I don't care if it works or not. just make me look like a total badass.
It really hurts to connect the nervous system to the arm itself.
This is awesome! It's really going to help me if I decide to cosplay as Edward Elric when I'm a little bit older, or maybe Alphonse, even if it means dying from carrying too much weight.

This video should be called : How to become the winter soldier from Captain America
ProCakeMan Playz
or
how to make voltrons shiro bionic arm
if I had one of those, I'd probably never want to take it off.
Jonathan Courtney me neither
*You have a metal arm ? , that is awesome dude*
He's literally the winter soldier. This is my first time watching any of his videos and I've got to say, I'm definitely going to be watching more.
You could add some leds inside to make it look like it's energized.
David, we're impressed by your handiwork. We'll be reaching out to you.
i should be sleeping...why am i watching some dude making a bionic arm?
Slavic Power because you clicked on the video when you saw the title and thumbnail
Slavic Power me too
Slavic Power Oh really?
YOU ARE THE BEST!!! ITS PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT MAKES THE NET FUN!!! SHARING YOUR TALET IS SO WONDERFUL!! THANKS!!!
Thanks Leon I really appreciate that!
Tried twice and messed up. Turns out I'm like 8" taller than you and it really throws off the forearm. I've got the pattern right now, and I cant wait to show you in spring. I'll be working all winter!!
Looking forward to it! But I am just over 6ft tall. 8" taller than me would make you a potential NBA star
I'd wear it everywhere and actually convince most people that I lost it in some badass fight or something and that I was chosen for like a special program and that some of the wires allow me to feel like a regular arm and then one day show up without the bionic arm and confuse everyone because I have a regular arm.

I'm gonna need this Guy's Arm.

Woah. As a Fan of Fullmetal Alchemist, I think this is Amazing!!!. I want to make one now!!
Cant wait to ask my crush out with these arms
This is phenomenal , you are ridiculously talented .
this would be perfect for full metal alchemists cosplay
if i tried this, it would look like i had 3 crushed coke cans for an arm
Amazing workmanship dude. Beautiful.
Next year, my big brother is going to be Bucky (the Winter Soldier) for Halloween, and I'm loosely following this tutorial for the arm. Good work.
Just add a red star on the shoulder and you're done 😂
Just dont forget the WD-40 with you
if you don't already have a job in engineering or the movie biz then you my good sir...are on your way. cheers mate!
Thank you i can finally make a realistic Jax arms for next years Halloween
Yo that’s absolutely sick.
I like the fact that you mention automail; huge FMA fan, here.
Ditto
the only movement to this arm is due to its wearer (no bionics)..but what amazing modern suit of armor this man can make!!
This arm would make the winter soldier look even more cool
first character I thought of when I saw the metal arm was Jax Briggs
It looks like Jax's arms from Mortal Kombat
yes ,you are right i like it
I would walk around the city fighting crime if I could do this type of shit.. Great work man!!
Ahhh yes the Fullmetal Alchemist cosplay I've always wanted to make... And yet, I lack the skills to do even the first step. Maybe I'll try this with Eva foam
I have a video of me building this in EVA foam too!
Mate, that is a great build. The level of movement you get in that when it’s on is perfect. Well done.
you're amazing bro! very creative and realistic :) Good job, God bless!
I just started making this. And it's already awsome thx
Rickz101 101 do you know anyone who would make them for sale ?
Micheal Cropper Me!
What am I doing I need to go to bed
I need I modify this for a Mcree cosplay
Samuel Nelson its high noon
Love it u did not use fancy tools u used simple tools good job
What an awesome channel I swear if I had even 1% of his abilities I would try to create something awesome 👏
Keep putting videos👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
I just might build myself an Automail arm! I’d of course be doing most of the design on my own, but if you don’t mind, I’d like to use the gauntlet section of your arm.
go for it!
David Guyton I’ll definitely post a video on TH-cam, and I might even do a crude cosplay as the Fullmetal Alchemist for it!
this has to be the coolest thing i've ever seen
Not cooler than frieza
I'm surprised no one's made a winter solder joke yet
Because he mentioned it like 15 seconds into the video

This is the epitome of cool. Thanks for the inspiring work.
Thank you! I checked out your channel and you do some excellent work. You have a new subscriber!
Well thanks! I want to design and build 3d printed armor that's joined and moves more like metal armor, hence the research.
just got my first 3D printer. Still trying to get it to work haha
Awesome. It's a nice tool to have once it works.
Make an Winter Soldier's vibranium arm pleaseee..

Actually yes I did some of that in a few of my more recent videos with great results!
I have not seen them yet
Did you get inspiration from the anime Full Metal Alchemist? Because the design looks identical to Edward Elric's Automail. Really awesome.
Khaos Production I was thinking the same thing but it's not really "identical"but I see what you mean
possibly, since he mentioned FMA

Have you tried making one that incorporates foam and shock absorbers to make it usable? Something that isn't just for show?

Hello David!! you make some kick ass stuff!! Ive never worked with metal before but i want to make this arm out of aluminum. I will try to do some modifications on the forearm. Ive got 3 questions for you though. Does wearing this arm make your arm sore? and does it get your arm all sweaty? can i use something else other than leather?
I want to be able to wear this for like 8 hours at night selling hot dogs.

Ever thought of building a bulletproof ironman armor
I did experiment with some bulletproof armor, and I also built an Iron Man gauntlet....but not combined. Adam Savage successfully built titanium bulletproof Iron Man armor though.
I'd go all fullmetal alchemist with that
X13ful lol
Imagine people using your designs to make bulletproof armor
"Here in my garage, with my cyborg arm"
Tony Turtle Fan of Tony from PTV 😮 ahahhaa
"just chillin with my cyborg self, crackin' open some cold beers"
Eventually you will have created an entire Ironman suit. Bruh no.

I did mine with foam because I can't afford the mettle and it worked instead of a hammer I use my arm and a blow dryer
I know what I have to do but I don’t know if I have the strength to do it
C'mon, do it
This is the coolest thing ive ever seen
From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh
damn..
really nice job
..i am thinking with a few modifications, mostly visual, it could be great for a winter soldier costume
He could add something to his hand that when he touches something it gets shocked
please make winter soldiers arm
Are you selling these arms? If do, i would buy it right now hahah. But if not, can you tell me how much time it takes to make it?
That looks awesome, David! Can I ask how the mobility is in that thing?
It's not great, but it's not terrible either. If I had to wear it for any length of time I might make a few adjustments but it's not bad
Cool, thanks for the reply. I'm no metal worker, I would love to be, but I do do some cosplay stuff with EVA Foam. I'm wondering if I could apply these plans with EVA instead. Hmm. If I come up with something, I'll shoot some pictures your way.

How do you size the templates on this and your other builds? I've seen other comments where people have tried and had to start again, is it purely trial and error to adapt the templates to each person?

I've never worked with foam so I am afraid I can be of little help
Badass background music too 👍
Very Impressive! This is the first video I've seen of yours, so please forgive my ignorance with my next question. Have you ever been approached to create cosplay outfits?
Almost daily. But I am far too slow to be able to do commission work. That's why I make the tutorials...so people can make their own
I see, I'm not asking because I am interested in cosplay outfits. Just was curious if there was a full suit of your work out there some where.
More like Badass, and kinda reminds me of Jax from mortal kombat
