    Aw, this is the one I have been looking for... I guess it was just a matter of time it would pop up on my feed! Thank you, Michele! Grazie!

    This might be the most accurate explanation given by a non-native I've ever seen! it's funny how - though the gestures are correct - I can still detect some kind of "foreign accent" :D

    Grazie mille! Molto bene! My Uncle Joe used to say, "If you cut off my hands, I couldn't talk!" Interesting how my first generation uncles used the hand gestures when speaking English.

    Brava Michele. Some gestures I myself never even use !!! One small thing, if I may, in case you redo this in the future. in " ti faccio un culo cosi` " it can also be a reflective, non-threatening expression to say " I / he / she worked so incredibly for this / that ! "

    As a "cultural Italian" but not a "national Italian" I found this video particularly interesting and entertaining. Some of your gestures I am familiar with from my youth ... but the majority of them I've never seen before. I must acquire all of these into my vocabulary. My father's side of the family came from Calabria and Sicily ... any gestures I already know came from them. My mother's side however, came from Northern Italy and they did not use gestures at all. Curious. Thanks for another great video.

    I must say that the second gesture is not really used ( at least in Northern Italy). About the horn gesture, you can also point it horizontally or upwards since it depends on the context ( luck or cheating meaning)

    I can’t believe my niece thought the first symbol was supposed to be a compliment to a Chef or something REALY Goood!! 😅😅😅😅 I already knew that was wrong and told her to Liston to Native or well educated Italian speakers to get proper definitions and to watch your video. I also told her that if she did the first pinecomb gesture to a Chef after a meal she would UTTERLY insult them 😂

    Hand gestures didn't come around after the fall of the Roman Empire, we spoke different languages well before that. The south of Italia, like Calabria per esempio, never spoke Latin, we spoke Greek. Standardised Italian, and Italic languages, didn't spread until well after. Hand gestures were not an introduction to solve a language issue, they are simply cultural.

    What does the gesture where a guy (in this case) puts his hands under his armpits and flaps his arms like chicken wings...I'm SURE it must be obscene! I can't find it anywhere! But, I've seen it!

    Nel nord italia mai visto il gesto degli spaghetti. Forse a Roma. E neanche tanti altri gesti. Al nord si gesticola molto meno 😆 Nel secondo esempio hai messo insieme due gesti diversi e di diverso significato. Il primo vuol solo dire "che cosa ? (What ??) Quindi : Che cosa ? Che cosa stai dicendo/facendo ?. Invece il secondo gesto può essere usato in due modi 😁 il primo è avere paura, gesto che ripeti proprio per spiegare la paura mentre il secondo, molto più usato nel nord Italia, significa "vai al sodo/meno chiacchiere/stringi il discorso e non perdere tempo". Il gesto della paura sembra uguale ma è giusto solo se lo associ ad un discorso adatto. Il gesti numero 11 e 12 mai visti. Te li sei inventati ? Addirittura con il mignolo della mano ? Ma quando mai, per favore !!

      il gesto 11 e 12 a Roma sono usatissimi e sono Italianissimi, peccato che al nord non gesticolate molto, infatti non vi si capisce :P

    • @billabilli8814
      @billabilli8814 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Cenere1789 Acc ! E dire che ero convinta di farmi cmq ben capire 😁 però dai, sarà anche perché questo è un video "tutor" per stranieri, ma qui sembra che in Italia non si faccia altro che gesticolare a gogò a mo' di scimmiette. Secondo me una parte di stranieri ci considera proprio così, anche perché qui i gesti sono molto accentuati. Nella realtà invece spesso sono molto più semplici, anche perché assolutamente spontanei.

      Direi n 11 non si fa con la mano chiusa, ma aperta. Le dita restano dritte e il polso gira, vome quando si mischiano acqua e farina x un impasto. In italiano il gesto si chiama aumma aumma, in modo losco, quando crediamo che nella situazione ci sia sotto qualcosa di illegale o non proprio regolare
