Eratosthenes and the spherical world model

This video tells the story of Eratosthenes of the Alexandria Library, and his investigation into the shape and dimensions of the world -- circa 200 BCE. Using very simple methods and extraordinary insight, Eratosthenes presented powerfully convincing evidence that challenged the prevailing "flat world" model.
