Saint Brigid of Kildare, or Brigid of Ireland (Irish: Naomh Bríd; Latin: Brigida) (c. 451 - 525) is one of Ireland's patron saints, along with Patrick and Columba.
Irish hagiography makes her an early Irish Christian nun, abbess, and foundress of several monasteries of nuns, including that of Kildare in Ireland, which was famous and was revered.
Her feast day is 1 February, which was originally a pagan festival called Imbolc, marking the beginning of spring.
Her feast day is shared by Dar Lugdach, who tradition says was her student, close companion, and the woman who succeeded her.
The saint shares her name with an important Celtic goddess and there are many legends and folk customs associated with her.

In Ireland we make St. Bridget's Crosses every year to celebrate her feast day. This is one of the oldest traditions we still do. We used to do them in school as well, afterwards they would be brought to the church to be blessed by the parish priest and then each person could take 1 home with the excess amount being left in the church for whoever needs one.
Sadly in recent years the secularization of Ireland has led to the millennial generation repackaging her as a pagan goddess instead of a Christian saint. Even our national tv is promoting this idea.

There never was a saint brigid. Brigid wasn't a human. Ever. She was literally a pagan goddess. Like there was never a human named Brigid that got turned into a saint and converted to christianity. She was never human. And has always been a goddess that people prayed to. You can't become a saint if you're not an actual physical person

Ohhh Gods gonna be right pissed off with you worshiping a Pagan.
Brigid was converted from a Pagan to a follower of Christ by the Catholic Church.
It was easier for the Church to place their weird stories over weirder stories to help the Irish relate to their God and not to be following multiple Gods like the Greeks or Roman's of the time.
Do you pray to Jupiter or Apollo as well as praying to Brigid?
Cus God will be soo pissed of with you for being fooled into worshipping idle Gods just because a man with sexual issues told you so???

@@philipstokes865 lol it's obvious who has the issues and it is not the church founded by Jesus Christ vs what ever man made religion you intrest your self in. The Catholic church has a history of powerful Holy Saints that continue to exist to this very day and I doubt you can offer anything so real as that. Good luck wherever you end up as for me I'll put my faith in the obvious truth that proves itself every day.
