Wow!!!! Though I prefer to think of Jesus not so much as offending but in your face faith challenging. To follow Jesus is simply you believe, or you do not believe, there is not any gray, milk toast, wishy washy feeling. He challenges us to make us grow stronger in our faith in him. For there is no other way to the Father but through him. It is our souls here he is deeply concerned about. He will not force it upon us, but to believe in him requires a strong faith. I just want to be good ground for Jesus, His words & Holy Spirit. For years I did not know what to do with John chap 6. I knew that Jn.6:35, is wonderful, but then 6:51, how can anyone understand this? Jn. 6:53-58, reading this now is how, and what does this flesh eating mean? Literally?
Even the simplest commandment to love can be insane to actually do when faced with insurmountable challenge. People can be so mean! And yet we are called to be like God who loves everybody though He hates their sin. God help us to LOVE as you do. Hello us to have pure hearts and clean hands before you. Help us to surrender to you even when we don't understand or agree with you in the trust that you have our best interests at heart. Help our unbelief.
