Imagine being surrounded by 1000's of smug middle class brats, listening to terrible bands and artist's and living like a pig for a few days. Why is that appealing to anyone?
Glastonbury... A festival for self righteous wankers who have a highly inflated sense of importance, tickets paid for mostly by Mummy and Daddy. You'll vote Greens now but once you live in the real world, inherit your properties will unflinchingly vote Tory. Dont forget to leave the area as a glorified landfill site like every other year despite being so 'environmentally conscious'. The festival for painfully basic folks who are convinced they're unique and interesting. Also keep pretending you like half the bands there when most are subpar. Gotta keep that glasto image up!
Glastonbury is sinking in the mud lol.
Lecture about the climate, immigration and the under paid, then leave their cr@p behind for immigrants and under paid lackey's to clean up. 🤡🤡🤡
Champagne socialsts paying £300 a ticket and Millionnaire pop stars shouting about how much they hate capatalism ! Strange people .
Can you actually name these millionaire stars who hate Capitalism 🤔 Will you ever learn to spell Capitalism and Socialism properly

Music is rubbish there day's it really is the worst era for music ever
@@ayumelove just like what tugg says, people who says today's music is rubbish jusy say your old lmfao. Music has never been this diverse and accessible one click and you have music from the other side of the earth, music you had never heard before, music that takes inspiration from the past and music of today, music for everyone in the palm of your hands just freaking look it up 😂😂
@@Hobiemyhubby just because you have accessible music at the click of a button doesn’t mean it’s immediately good. Everyone of those performers at Glastonbury, probably think they’re mustard, most of them produce inaudible voice wobbles, without the ability to play a musical instrument to a high level, as for the song writing talent….ha.
@@CJ-we2xv haven't you notice a pattern of old people hating on new music? Look back on your days and I KNOW you also would remember old people hating on everything y'all do including your music. I do NOT believe that billions of artist all around the globe and you still think everything is rubbish. We all have the privilege to access a HUGE inventory of music of all genres from all around the world and if all of them are still rubbish to you, then maybe you're the problem, maybe you became the old people of your generation who hates on young people and doesn't welcome what they offer. Stop listening to radio, fix your algorithm, and again if it doesn't work then you're the problem, atleast the old people of your generation has a reason to hate when they had no choice but to listen whatever is on radio, that is clearly not the case now
Nobody cares, the music industry is a big fix.
Not been since late 90's early 2000's, not missed much by the looks.
I mean, you’re not longer 20 years; you are 40, so you dont hear Dua Lipa or Camila Cabello.
What were you expecting? The Beatles?
no macca was on the other year, it would be expected to have a headliner who could sing, there have been less than a handful of decent performances across the weekend. Absolute dire efforts from the vast number of performers.
Festivals are terrible.Who wants to stand in a muddy field with a load of smelly students pissing in water bottles?
Yeah I love concerts but festivals are generally awful. Muddy, chaotic, and poor sound due to being outdoors.
Not many students at Glastonbury these days. Loads of middle class Guardian readers dad dancing to Coldplay next to all the pollution making generators belching out black smog all day long. An ideal place to raze.
Every comment here is wrong and not based on reality. I bet none of you have ever been, if you have you have lost your ability to have fun... don't take life too seriously people :) i have never read the guardian in my life, I am not a student, and the sound system at Glastonbury is amazing. Your comments tell me you have not got a clue what it is really like.
I've never, ever felt the urge or excitement to want to be part of Glastonbury.
This year I was in a far nicer, better place during Glastonbury.....Tenerife with 35 degrees of heat, sunshiiiine and blue skies!!!!
Glastonbury’s been going downhill since the 90’s. Much like the rest of the UK.
@@winston_smith_omelette why would you want to? Sounds like pro Labour, pro gender politics MOBO toss.
@@SP-lw7mr It's pro art. You know what they say about assumptions! This is how it sounds: "Ew I hate eggs, they're rubbish!" "Have you tried eggs?" "No, but you're clearly ideologically captured if you eat eggs, so eggs are disgusting." Fair enough if you've been and didn't like it, but it's nothing like how it's portrayed by the BBC, who, as we all know, are fully captured elite left wing extremists.
Dualipa❤❤❤❤
I have never listened to Dua lipa and I thought it was an amazing set.
All those youngster who think the world is going to end. Do they not understand how much machinery, buses, cars, planes etc.etc it takes to set this up. 😂
Nope only since this year even last year was not 💯. You do realize the amount of machinery and buses and planes and helicopters and cars it was takes to set it up and get people there. I'm glad they seem to be trying to run on renewables but it's just a joke.@@spacemant4482
Glastonbury should separate the Commercial from the authentic pagan festival .
Nobody goes to Glastonbury for the headliners
So much more going on than the headliners, but this is still one of the worse I've seen
Is It VOB ( VOICE OF BACEPROT) Not in the list, why?
If it’s going down the plug hole, blame the quality of the music.
Isn’t it strange that people still go for the old stuff, but the vision of Nick “Grooving” away old school fashion in the crowd rather puts me off!
Eavis snr always struck me as an archetypical Marxoid A-hole.Everythings 'fantastic' on planet Eavis.R.I.P Glasto.Well past expiry date by 2 decades.Shit has gotten real since then.Di see much social distancing but prolly trillions of spike proteins drifting on the pollen rich breeze.
To be honest I studied the official 2024 line up & have never heard of 90% of the names. I am not being negative because for me it is all new. Coldplay & Keane were 2004 new bands, that was 20 years ago!
thats rich gb news telling progressive glastonbury whats in
Love Glastonbury, but I have to admit it is very underwhelming this year. Most young artists these days are very a like. Seen one, seen them all.
Poor coverage on TV this year. Should be able to chose which set and stage to watch live, not the repeats...
Yes GBN is diffintely the place to go for music tips and advice
I watched an hour of this Yawn Fest last night. Just dull boring mainstream dross. i turned it off and listened to a Bowie compilation on headphones.
If Glastonbury want young people to actually start going, this years headliners are beyond perfect
Exactly and then all the older millennials get mad that it's not the same basic white 00s groups playing every year. sorry you're still going to a festival marketed to YOUNG ADULTS and then getting annoyed that you're hearing hugely famous young artists that aren't famous to you cos you're getting old bestie
American and afro artist for a large white male rural audience 😂 you can't make this trash up talk about outcasting your audience.
What’s an afro artist? & why can’t one appeal to a white male rural audience? It funny and yet you expect your bs to appeal to us & say we make everything about race
@@agirl2094why do you care about white people listening to black people music?
Kendrick Lamar was amazing in 2022 and Lil Naz X smashed it last year before Elton John too. Everyone got well into it without knowing lots of the songs.
A rural audience 😂 I watched Joy Division one night the gaff was empty one of the best gigs I've ever been to
That lineup.......shite, bar 2.
Just watched and was ...tripe
I wouldn’t pay to go. Boring lineup.
Nothing cool about ultra commercial Glastonbury.
Virtually none of those 'acts' will be remembered in even just 5 years. The live music scene is over, it's been over for some time really.
“Ultra commercial” .. “won’t be remembered in 5 years”
Uhhhh what? That’s an oxymoron…
The media makes sure they’re not only remembered, but continually propped up.
Obviously people will remember Coldplay, regardless of how annoying they’ve been for a long time.
@@NoTH-camName1 You're right, without the media and Commercial platforms propping them up, this crop of pop lightweights would not be around at all.
There are no music scenes any longer.
And the drugs don't work
Why two woman presenters it’s confusing, better just one or two different ones
It's clearly a mistake thinking that the young want these sort of bands. Smallest crowed ever at the pyramid stage for SZA.
Most youngsters i'm seeing increasingly, who actually appreciate quality rock/-pop are returning back to the drawing board of things.Floyd,Zepp.Bowie,Doors,Beatles,Stones etc.Understandable to put it mildly.
In fairness to SZA (Never actually heard of her tbh) England were playing in the Euros😅
Its the pilton pop festival
Agree missing big Rock group on Sunday.
They'll have the AI stage next mark my words
Festivals are always in tents
Cogent remarks by this expert. The second Woodstock festival had rap groups I think even though they are not in the same spirit of the hippie generations. When festivals become iconic and legendary then maybe there is an argument for inviting bands which reflect the original spirit of the venue. It can be noted that the Montreux jazz festival in Switzerland had artists such as mikes Davis but was not really a jazz festival with Sarah’s bb king Gary Moore etc.. festivals evolve according to market demands. I don’t like dua lipa’s music but recognize her appeal to a younger audience. Should we criticize singers like her who use her stunning looks as part of her marketing appeal even if the visuals seem to take precedence over musical talent ?The debate is an interesting one. I am from Woodstock and although I was only nine was there in 1969. I prefer csny Richie havens or the who to say rap bands but wouldn’t want to impose my views on others.
Oasis reforming would save Glastonbury next year. Get you checkbook out Emily or the festival may be lost if it was as bad as this years.
Sza and dua lipa are icons
For a festival like Glastonbury it should be based off talent and skill and knowable. I would have maybe the lights of Paris Jackson maybe and limp biskit and other Well known names not SZA. You have also Rita Ora and Jess Q.
Dua Lipa has to do all the work to make the festival more enjoyable 😢
Pip Thompson is a proper sort 😍
Gbn is just a channel of hate. Englands RT channel.
Sugababes should have been on the main stage
Fair play to the guy, very open minded
But Glasto hasn’t been a rock festival for years. For what it’s worth though, I thought Dua Lipa was great - I had trouble sleeping after watching her!😊
It a cringe fest now 🇬🇧✌️
SZa who is this why
Who is this absurd youthful energy vampire ?
How is GB News chatting about how “disappointing” the lineup is? Oh sorry to all the 60 year olds who only wanted to see 80s bands and not give a chance to new artists (a bit strange to target SZA btw as the only black artist). Stop whining no one’s listening. It’s a festival targeted at late teens who want to get hammered and listen to new gen music, let them enjoy it instead of complaining when you wouldn’t have even gone to begin with.
They didn't say that??Maybe try listening??The bloke was minimum 65 abd said enjoying dua lipa AND SZA
Do you think the SZA performance was remotely anywhere near good? Closing act on the pyramid should be the a talent above all.
The vast majority would have no idea what colour SZA is or what she sounds like.
In case you didn't get the memo the UK is under constant Kalergi DEI attack across the whole cultural/political spectrum and that demographic you mention, remembers a time when this wasn't so weaponised in scope.
Loads of good rock bands out there. This is the worst line-up ever. Went 2 years ago and it was great bruce springsteen, sam fender , robert plant, foals.
It was terrible. Someone twerking on a Honey I shrunk the kids set.. Plenty of other things to escape to across the field.
Yawn!!
A jolly-up for Champagne Socialists! Total bore-fest!😴😴😴😴
Sounds good to me!!!
Looking forward to Glastonbury this year wont be nowhere near bad as listening to the foo fighters last year bloody awful
Sza easily the worst ever. Terrible performance no
Its bad because you dont listen to her music which is a personal problem
Coldplay saved the event
U2, Cat Stevens, & Neil Diamond - yeah he's really down with the kids hahahahaaaa you SQUARES!!! Glastonbury isn't about the headliners btw, but you have to actually go, to understand it.
DEI headliners
Those who book the acts obviously know sod all about REAL music. And im wondering how much litter those environmentalists will leave behind....
What rubbish, year after year. Need a big prog rock/metal festival. Respect to Germany for Wacken.
There's the Summers end prog rock festival every year and I can't believe you haven't heard of Download surely? 75000 metalheads every year
Took the words out of my mouth pathetic like most ov the music now thank god i went when music was music
It's best Glastonbury for me because there's dua lipa
Not the best lineup, but who cares.
Dua just delivered a really fine show and for all who haven't heard SZA th-cam.com/video/NNd_ufPG3x4/w-d-xo.html I suggest everybody better be fucking grateful that we have artists like these. Madonna.... well SZA writes her own songs and has a one of a kind voice ... such a wonderful singer. Any song by her has more value than the whole discography by Madonna.
Grateful for rubbish? You commend Dua Lipa and SZA by comparing them to....... Madonna?
@@CJ-we2xv Whether I can sing or not is utterly irrelevant. What's obvious is that SZA is a star almost solely because she's a sexy young lady. I wonder how much of her set was live at all. In the Sixties and Seventies performers were often musical prodigies -they literally were the artistic elite of their generation. Just think of guitarists: Hendrix, Page, Beck, etc. Fans attended festivals to see these people who were legends because of their musical ABILITY. No-one is going to remember SZA after her career. She's another young model with a vast team behind her.
@@paulwally9007think you replied to the wrong person, I’m in full agreement the set by SZA was pathetic, along with the other ‘legends’ performing such as Lauper and Twain.
@@CJ-we2xv Grief! Sorry. I need to concentrate better. The BBC tells me Twain has the best selling album of any female performer of all time. My heart sank.
The comments are ridiculous, I am guessing mostly from people who have not been, I have been to 18 Glastonbury festivals since 1995, I love it, and couldn't care less who the headliners are, there is always something to see and something to do, meet new people, laugh, mingle, a group of us go. , Glastonbury is great fun but I think a lot of people take themselves too seriously and have forgotten how to have fun, my friends and I are all in our mid-50s and we just love it. We all run our own businesses but once a year we let our hair down - get muddy, drink, and do things you wouldn't normally do.. TBH we can't do the tents anymore like we used to, we now take our camper vans and caravans. there is nothing like watching a great band with 100,000 plus people all singing the song, I have watched so many great bands at glastonury - old and new, the bands love it, and the fans love it... Cant wait till this year, i now take my daughter... we all love it. Nuff Said :)
It's GB news what do ya expect 😂 it's a bunch of haters who just complain all day. Bunch of old folks yellowing at clouds saying "back in my day". I know you are mid 50s so nothing personal but you have to admit its always older people saying modern music sucks. It's a tale as old as time! Music is marketed towards younger people because their brain is more neuroplastic and open to new ideas. As we age we have to put more effort into to keep our brains open and flexible. I'm early 30s and already seeing some of my friends stop searching for new music and just play the stuff they grew up on.
@@ayumelove I've been to Glasto about 8 times. Similar age to you but I had myh best two years there in 2022 and 2023. They have improved so much and as the othewr person said a festival is what you make of it not who the headliners are. We've literally had Elton and Macca last two years so the boomers should have been more than happy regardless haha
Cant even say dua lipa
Nobody cares
You lot are old AF 😅
Maybe the lineup is just shit mediocre pop that will fade in people’s memory unlike the pop of decades ago
@@InbredPigeon4U They literally had Elton and Macca play the past two years lol. You saying Elton and the Beatles are trash too?
The older well known stars prop it up....the rest is pretty average...

Jay Z was the dearh knell...
Just had Dua Lipa in Lip Sync mode, soon just be a big stereo with holograms.
A Commercial Rip Off . What a bunch of Mugs.
This old dude needs to stop trying to be down with the kids, 😳
When boomers realise that they are finished 🤣🤣🤣, the line up is for young people 👌👌
Great line up. Look forward to it.
My young kids have started following artists from two decades ago as today’s so called music “right-on” line up are so 3rd rate ! Boycott Glastonbury they’ll soon learn ! Looks like most decent artists have already boycotted it ! 😉
Yep. My friends' kids all seem to be living in the Eighties right now. I just wish they'd adopt some of the fashions.
its the state of the new music these days factory made pop but not even popular pop ,, a guy called will i am is to blame for this pushing this rap pop like black eyed peas which is dead and sounds terrible, we need new bands with a passion for music and thats what is all about Glastonbury wasnt even about pop music when it first started just great bands
and shania PAIN, was an awful performance!
Once The Stones are gone! no more greats!
Just read Seventeen, the K-pop boy band are to perform at Glastonbury. This is surely a new low for the festival.
It reflects the state of factory produced rubbish pushed for cash - that's all. Haven't bothered with Glastonbury for years.
I assume you're an older person based on this comment and I think people like you are very quick to assume that the same basic, actually "factory produced rubbish" radio music that barely anyone actually enjoys is common music that all young people listen to now. When really young people listen to anything except for radio music that's just bad remixes of old songs. I think older people should spend the time that they spend hating on what they think young people nowadays listen to, looking for the amazing music made by artists just as talented as ones "back in your day" that young people actually enjoy. In short, don't assume that "factory produced rubbish" is all thats being made and what's popular with young people, because that's far from the truth. I also think, frankly, some older people are too lazy to look for new good music because they are stubborn and selfish and don't WANT anyone to live up to their childhood favourite's standards.
