The 12 dancing princesses sent me on my life path. I've always wanted to be a ballerina like them but my family never had the money. So I swore that I'd go into the medical field so that if my children wish to become ballerinas they can. Or even if I'm lucky I could start late and do it myself. I graduated grade 12 in 2020 and next year I'm going to school for pre med to become a nurse. If it wasn't for 5 year old me and the promise I made myself I don't think I'd be where I am today. This song always reminds me of my goals and when I heard it for the first time since I was a kid I cried. I'm so proud of how far I've come. And I want to share this story not only because you brought tears to my eyes and reminded me I'm good enough, but to share with others who are doubting themselves. You can do it, if you can't do it for you do it for 5 year old you. Things get better, don't give up on your dreams, you will reach them, no matter how long it takes
I'm really happy for you. However, I think you could still dance. There are probably hundreds of tutorials on youtube. Maybe you could make a youtube channel of yourself dancing to ballet music in your free time. I'm sure you're a wonderful dancer. All I'm saying is...don't give up on your dreams either :)
There are plenty of adult beginners who go on to become dance teachers. Not saying you shouldn't pursue med school, certainly you should for as long as it makes you happy. But you always have the option of a career in dance, should you desire it. Maybe you won't be the next Zhakarova, but you can still be happy!
I remember dancing around my living room in circles while this song played trying to mimic any kind of ballet move i knew. Everytime I rewatch my old dvd of this movie i feel like i can't sit still and like i just have to dance along. Thank you for such a beautiful cover

I have a fifty year old classmate in ballet so it's really never too late to start. Yes it's a beginners class cuz I joined two classes.
