Have taken time to listen to the full interview. Wow what a mouthful. Firstly I am only realising now that there a number of songs that I didn't know were done by him. The second thing is that one cannot deny how beautiful and soul filling Mr.Marimazhira's songs are. By saying this let me hasten to say this includes his brother's songs too. I have respect and high appreciation for Mr. Xavier Marimazhira's songs as well. There is no denying that the man is gifted. His songs fulfill the scrutiny of the standard Composers Associations critical points when analysing a song. My third compliment is that I give credit to him and other Catholic composers like the late Br Bvukumbwe who made the daring strides to go to studios and record Catholic music. So many times one would lament the lack of airplay of Catholic Music on Radio and TV because the Broadcasters had nothing to play. It was not their fault. These strides these men took am sure are also the basis or anchor upon which with time the Social communication department of the Catholic Bishop's conference started doing live recordings at Music courses and producing them for circulation, something which was not happening before. Now it is common to see even some of these commercial musicians like the Zimpraise ensemble singing and performing some Catholic songs. I say bravo and well done to that daring Studio stride. My challenge though is, why the split. This for me does not seem to be answered in the interview. Or is it that maybe Marimazhira was ahead of his time? Because it should be possible for a member of any Composers' Association to ask for permission from their mother association and the Bishop to do exactly what Marimazhira is doing. My take is that the Associations under the liturgical committees of the Diocese are the organ through which the Church requests or directs how music should develop and especially at special events like Synods etc. This will then prevent all and sundry to come up with tunes that will be sung at such events. I contend that, it should still have been possible to have men and women like Mr. Marimazhira to execute such talent under the same associations. Mr. Marimazhira' s case surely challenges the orders that be and the church at large: What do we do with various people with outstanding charism as a church? Today its music tomorrow it could be Preaching. Should the Church seek to control or let loose some men and women who are so gifted that even if you don't give them and official capacity they will still find access to execute their gift? Above all thanks to Rwodzi and team for such an interview. It really gets you thinking about the direction of the Church liturgically and otherwise.
‘Handitenderi naMashoko ‘ is one of my favourite .

Thought kuti Ambuya Veronica is about Veronica wemuBible, however rwiyo urwu rwunonamatisa one of my best
Feels like we are being deprived of good compositions because of the 'banishment'of this proven composer!
