2 Brits driving a US built Daewoo on the Tail of the Dragon, sounds like fun! As with any popular driving road, either go very early or later in the evening, preferably during the week to avoid traffic.
Because you guys mentioned it, the smoky mountains do get their name from fog produced by the forest ecosystems that tends to cling to the mountains, giving an illusion of smoke. Love seeing you guys in a more familiar corner of the world
Stumbled across your channel with the cheapest pint video and I'm pretty sure I've now rinsed the entire channel. This 2 parter was class. Nice one chaps
It would be great to see on an all the extra gear channel, an uncut version of these trips in long form. With extra bits. Even if they are 1hr-2hr long.
Cant wait until you go to Colorado. So many driving roads there. Squaw Pass, Million Dollar Highway, Pikes Peak, Peak to Peak highway, and so many more.
I was just there on 12/1 for the first time and it was an incredible driving road even at reasonable speeds. It wasn't all great as our car died and stranded us in Maryville but beyond that it was incredible and I absolutely want to go again.
You guys made me proud. I was watching and cringing thinking about where you'd end up on Lower Broadway. Robert's Western World is a jewel in a sea of trash. Thank you for not letting me (and all of humanity) down. Cheers.
The guys at Gears & Gasoline have just done a road trip trying to find the best driving roads in the U.S. They did tail of the dragon and loads of others, well worth a watch!
I heard a photo Challenge option for Jack in this episode. It could be a Nice idea on a budget to get Some landmarks in front of your camera 😊 Love your video’s!
Smashed it, Lads! Visited Pigeon Forge earlier this year, odd place! Can't believe you didn't do Dollywood though...!! Bit surprised you didn't at least have a go at sleeping in the sonic. Room in there for 6 at least.
We have plenty of good roads in this area to drive on. We have The Snake out on 421, The Back of The Dragon in Marion Virginia, and The Dragon Slayer in Appalachia VA - Lynch Kentucky. Yall should definitely come back now, ya hear 😁
Chuffing love this channel, gets better and better every week. Now please do a 3 way car challenge with you two vs TDC vs Auto Alex I beg you!!!! Although please go straight back into this stuff 😅
I saw the thumbnail and thought: Those poir souls are going to get completely bogged down in traffic on "The Tail of the Dragon"... glad you still had some good driving.
Sod the algorithm put the longer versions on the channel - I'd watch hour long episodes of these two cocking about and taking the mick out of each other
Too bad You didn't know of the britsh 🇬🇧 pub called fleet street over on printer's alley in downtown Nashville. Could got some Nashville version of bangers and mash.
Highway 129 ( the 🐉 dragon) is 318 curves in 11 miles. On the north carolina side Cheoah dam was used as the dam Harrison ford jumped off of in the 1993 movie "the fugitive". And I hope they've made it impossible for 18 wheelers to get on this road.....I had to follow one through here. Saw a motorcycle 🏍 lay his bike down by himself somehow at speed in my rear view mirror after the 18 wheeler got out of the way In the flat/ strait area.
Thing with the brits; Be the change you want to see guys. I go to the UK all the time and I have amazing conversations with people who actually come back for more chats, or who invite me. You are very chatty. It may not be in your culture but it's in your hearts. So go and chat away, your fellow brits won't kill ya. Just be a little... more subdued about it than the Americans are because aw mah gawwwddd.
8:28. There are some absolutely SPECTACULAR laybys in Scotland. I was shocked. England isn't layby country, Scotland totally is for some reason. They really look after their Tourists and working people who just need a piss. Scottish layby culture, 10 / 10.
England has some great laybys as well. I think Jack has only ever stopped in laybys on the M25 😅 We live in Somerset (South West) and have stayed the night in multiple laybys with fantastic views.
@bongoingaroundbritain. Maybe the Oop Norf laybays aren't popping then. Scottish laybys are every 3 or 4 miles on their annoying A roads. They've even got them on bridges over spectacular estuaries, purpose built by concrete etc. English laybys are in no way comparable Oop Norf, where I live excepting some Lake District rare beauties.
The Chevy Sonic RS is better then the base model, because it has a turbo that makes fun noises. It's a decent little car, too bad you guy's got the base model.

I am a bit surprised that Jack's over-spending in Bass Pro Shop did not mean you had to sleep in the Sonic the last night... 😅

The "there's our car! 😀" bit has me laughing, good job Ethan😂
And from that distance, the paint actually looked good. :)
This could be the first time Jack got the tires squeeling without Ellie Goulding showing up 😂
The car is red though 😂
Is she Jewish?

I’ve always wanted to explore the abandoned buildings and factories in the rust belt. I think you two would really enjoy it for photos
"all the leaves are brown" "...when you forget your loo roll on a camping trip" hahahahahahaaha
Jack's one liners
In stitches
Evening spliff rolled after dinner just about to light up - perfect timing
Cant wait until you go to Colorado. So many driving roads there. Squaw Pass, Million Dollar Highway, Pikes Peak, Peak to Peak highway, and so many more.
But will it beat the m62? We got farms in the middle of our roads 😂
$500 would get you absolutely nowhere in Colorado
They need to do last dollar pass road haha. Thats more their style
@@hunterbrock2347what can you get in Colorado for $500?
Out. You can get out
@@Valinorphysiothey def have better road names 😂 best road in Yorkshire is probs buttertubs pass, wtf is that name lol
We vacation in the Pigeon Forge area (Sevierville) every year and agree, the Foothills Parkway is a fantastic driving road with gorgeous views
Loved this mini video series.
13:10 the lay-by that Adamlz lost his gt3rs
Thought it looked familiar.
these guys have to be the best duo on TH-cam. they are sooo good together
That Landayacht D2 A8 was astonishing. I couldn't keep my eyes off of it for every single brief moment it appeared.
18:35 "I assume it's an auto."
No, Jack, it's a Dogleg Manual 😅
I was just there on 12/1 for the first time and it was an incredible driving road even at reasonable speeds. It wasn't all great as our car died and stranded us in Maryville but beyond that it was incredible and I absolutely want to go again.
Superb road trip lads! Why not turn the tables and do one with a MEGA budget? More please! YeeeeeHaaaaaw!👍👏👏♥️🏴🇺🇸
You guys made me proud. I was watching and cringing thinking about where you'd end up on Lower Broadway. Robert's Western World is a jewel in a sea of trash. Thank you for not letting me (and all of humanity) down. Cheers.
Best channel from the AA Multiverse!!
JUST LOVE THESE GUYS - KILLING IT
You do know there's an active serial killer in Nashville targeting tourists don't you? "Let's try and get murdered for 99p!" 😂😂 Legends
It's probably that "let me pray for you" guy!😮
@JM-mn4ph no doubt! 😂
I live here and have no idea what you're talking about haha
@ThePandaKen I watched a documentary on it the other day. But my bad, just checked and it's ladybird lake In Austin not Nashville
The guys at Gears & Gasoline have just done a road trip trying to find the best driving roads in the U.S. They did tail of the dragon and loads of others, well worth a watch!
Must be your best yet, guys - keep it up!
Gaitlynburg and pigeon forge are my favorite places to visit
Wouldn’t it be great to also have a friend that laughs at all your jokes?!
In times where all you see is people doing flashy shit, it’s so nice to see what you can actually do on a budget
I heard a photo Challenge option for Jack in this episode. It could be a Nice idea on a budget to get Some landmarks in front of your camera 😊 Love your video’s!
They still captured some excellent drone shots considering there wasn't enough time for photography.
Love this channel it has such a n uplifting vibe unlike a lot of other youtube channels! Been here from video 1!
You have to get there early to avoid the bulk of traffic. Not too far away is the back of the dragon, which I liked a lot more.
This was an amazing roadtrip to watch, really enjoyed it!
Never been this fast to a video!
Smashed it, Lads! Visited Pigeon Forge earlier this year, odd place! Can't believe you didn't do Dollywood though...!! Bit surprised you didn't at least have a go at sleeping in the sonic. Room in there for 6 at least.
Just loving the content you guys are creating. Thank you.
Thanks for more laughs. Nashville is killer!
We have plenty of good roads in this area to drive on. We have The Snake out on 421, The Back of The Dragon in Marion Virginia, and The Dragon Slayer in Appalachia VA - Lynch Kentucky. Yall should definitely come back now, ya hear 😁
Awesome video! We rode our motorbikes on the tail of the dragon! Amazing road!
You two are bloody funny, keep it coming guys
Have you two thought of making a “All the Gear” photo book of your travels abroad with your personal photos in it ??
Watching this channel, Gears and Gasoline and SortedFood all feature this same area of the country in the same month is kinda nuts.
What a road, unreal!
Next time you're at a place and want to leave a mark. You could wright "all the gear was here."
Going to Nashville, Tenneesee is on my bucket list, although I know I'd never want to come back. lol
great trip :D
loving this channel 😃
I hope you guys did the doughnuts rings in the car park they looked fresh 😅
Well you fellas skirted the edge of the Smokies.
Lads, great content with your wacky trips. Keep it up, love the channel 😁👍🏻
Hell yes, perfect timing, I just sat down with a home made pepperoni pizza, this is going to be GOOOOOOOOOD
Chuffing love this channel, gets better and better every week. Now please do a 3 way car challenge with you two vs TDC vs Auto Alex I beg you!!!! Although please go straight back into this stuff 😅
£5000 Supercar Gapper Challenge. Sub 5 seconds 0-60. It's doable and would be amazing to watch a Drag Race at the end...
I saw the thumbnail and thought: Those poir souls are going to get completely bogged down in traffic on "The Tail of the Dragon"... glad you still had some good driving.
Keep it up lads! Great adventures 🙏🏻
UK lay-bys are way better, it has free bottles of apple juice!
Wish you could hit some of the beautiful mountain roads with a lil shifty ride. there to WV can find some nice ones.
To be fair, Sonic The Red Hog was an appropriate name for that pig of a car 😂. Cracking video lads 😊
Just stay in America and film everything there and more like this - multiple parts - thank you....!!!
Another Banga Boys!
Good to see you boys engaging in some (almost) car content, would be ace to see ATG x TDC collab soon, like the old days :)
That is one expensive cable car! That would’ve costed a fiver in Europe
Yes lads! Loving the last yankee video, looking forward to this one 👌
You guys missed out big in Gatlinburg. Crocketts Breakfast camp is the best place to grab breakfast in that town
Love the channel team auto Alex spoiling us and same with top dead centre too . Keep it up everyone thank you 🙏 legends
Now you gotta go from Nashville to the pyramid in Memphis!!!
Jack missed out on getting a good pair of boots. I love my small collection of cowboy boots lol
Loving this content..
Pigeon forge is the equivalent to great yarmouth in the UK but still not as shit!
"There's our car!" 😂
Sod the algorithm put the longer versions on the channel - I'd watch hour long episodes of these two cocking about and taking the mick out of each other
Things to avoid on an American road trip:
1. Gas station sausage on a stick
Too bad You didn't know of the britsh 🇬🇧 pub called fleet street over on printer's alley in downtown Nashville. Could got some Nashville version of bangers and mash.
2 views in 18 seconds? They fell off. Just kidding, these guys single handledly are keeping AA group afloat.
Ha ha ha you made such a original joke
😐

That’s just London where everyone walks with their heads down.
Another great video
Love this ❤
That dog wasn't driving an auto. It was a dog leg gearbox 😂
Ah the famous road that deretoryed Adam LZ's Purple Porsche GT3
Next trip to Colombia 🇨🇴
keistering on a budget 😂
Part 2. When you leave the state and re-enter, you must play rocky top.

Take a drive in Montengro and that road will look like a motorway.
I’m guessing Ethan gets giddy if he stands up too quickly 🤣
Awesome- illinois
Love it 😁
Bit like Donegal
Overspending by visiting Bass Pro for the first time ... we'll let you have that one (just don't tell your accountant)
Great video. Cheapest point, cheapest hotel etc, etc. Now, how about trying to find the cheapest petrol ... in the world?
Went all that way looking for that Hawk Tuah 😂
I can't believe you didn't go to Dollywood!
there's an old saying; "If you're not paying for parking in Gatlinburg, you're doing something wrong"
Great channel
I like how they called the Appalachian mountains "new"
They're literally older than trees.
Should have called this car "Knuckles" because it's a red sonic and all beat up
Amazing, shame vids so short!
You two are the only Tens i see ;)
That hub looks like a place in GTA V!
The Chevy Sonic RS is better then the base model, because it has a turbo that makes fun noises. It's a decent little car, too bad you guy's got the base model.
Just think Jack. You could have had those cowboy boots if you hadn't spent so much on Bass Pro.
